which Best alternative bitcoin for long or shot holding ?

For now it is eth, dash, litecoin for long term. I don't know what coin is good for short time keeping, maybe something with small market cap and low prize with good idea.

I can consider ethereum next to bitcoin. As ethereum is always best to invest with the price of stable and cheap for now. So you may wait for the price to increase and earned profit when price is really high.

Well, as for short holding, it is always different coins, you know. In general the new ones are very unstable and one can play on that, whereas old ones like ltc, eth or doge don't really change in price all of a sudden mostly. I think gas, hshare and walton are the best short-term ones currently. Surely these are not really even close to competing with btc as currencies. Long-term ones are IOTA, litecoin and maybe ethereum.

You can go with ethereum, BCH, ripple and monero to start mining, trading or other investment options. After bitcoin ethereum based smart contract projects are nowadays famous  and many eth based ICO has been introduced every day but we need to be careful to get the proper information about ICO white paper.

I will say ETH, XMR and NEO can still rise significantly because all of them have real life application and features they have can't be found in bitcoin.
I don't want to claim that they will replace bitcoin but I am quite sure their price will be quite high within next few years.

For now i am recommending ETH and NEO but i keep my eyes on EBTC. If you will notice EBTC is pumping since yesterday with a value of. 00112 eth in just a matter of 2 days. It can be on top 50 soon and be on biggest exchanges, hopefully.

If you look for investment and earning monet there are lots of analysis out there. Lots of pumped coins, choosing an altcoin is easy and difficult at the same time

if you look for a coin to spend instead of bitcoin, now ethereum and litecoin  is used in most places. you can use one of them

Well there is some tricks that you should check before invest on it, like who are the developers, how old is the alt coin, what is the current coin market and how have been doing with it since the coin start, you know, you must asking to yourself things like that, btw, don't forget that there will not be nothing like bitcoin ;)

In the end nobody could tell you what's the best alternative, you must research by yourself.

For short term = XRP, XMR, LTC, ETC are good buy
For long term = NEO, ETH, Waves, Lisk

I am buying all these coins whenever I can get them cheap and building my nice portfolio to hold for next few years.

Most probably ethereum will be preferred as an alternative to the bitcoin just because of its increased popularity as well based on the large capital volume after bitcoin. Other than Eth, sometimes bitcoin cash will also be preferred, because of it being split from bitcoin as well holding an increased value compared to other altcoins.

I strongly advise you to use Ethereum as a substitute to bitcoin, most stable and sure at the moment.

I like Myriad coin because it has 5 algorithms and has been around for a very long time. It is also community driven.

Ripple will never be an alternative to bitcoin.  It is run by banks and not decentralized.

Universa coin token (UTN)! It's not just a coin, although you will be able to trade it after the project is launched. But the real value of it is a project itself! Hope more and more people learn about what it offers!)

Bitcoin's best and most appreciable alternative is Ethereum. I do not think this side of you is open to controversy. Ethereum is in second place in terms of market cap and maybe one day may pass Ethereum.

You can just store your Bitcoin somewhere that nobody can get into it and then you can have that money to use years from now. You could exchange it to Ethereum instead.

I can not think of a altcoin that might come in place of bitcoin
but I think ethereum is the most suitable for this position
