You forget about a little thing called daylight savings? You're at GMT-7 now, not GMT-8.  ::)

Maybe, after having solved the problem of currency conversion between different countries, Satoshi should work on the timezone conversion problem :D

Yes, PST 7am would be 3pm GMT.

But you're not on PST, you're on PDT.  That means 8am.

Man this daylight savings stuff is dumb.  Don't they realize the effect on the planet / global warming from the extra hour of sunlight?!  (snicker)

Yeah they should let you log in in half an hour, and start trading in an hour and a half (Noon EDT), supposedly.

they really should get rid of all the farmer timezones, since they already got rid of the farmers.

Even the times on the messages on this board are on GMT so you don't have to leave the forum to see what time it is.

Only if you didn't set what timezone you are in.

This whole thing is so stupid. And completely self-inflicted. No need for it at all. It's a situation of their own making.

A prescription:
  • stop announcing stupid launch dates and times you have no idea whether you'll make or not
  • provide periodic updates throughout every day - every 3 hours or so.
  • only when everything is under control and you can CLEARLY see the finish line, announce a launch giving everyone 24 hours notice.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Don't just reload the Mt. Gox support page over and over again, that won't work ...

Enter the mtgox.com domain but make sure to use https:// and then press CTRL + F13 and the new site will launch.

if you use iGoogle (personalized google homepage)  then you can add neat widget on there called World Clocks, it allows you to keep time in different time zones .02btc
