Title: LEVi | A Crypto That Rewards Good Deeds
Post by: LEVi_chain on October 07, 2017, 05:53:28 AM
LEVi
An experimental crypto to reward good deeds
http://levichain.net/

Just dropping an early announcement for anyone who'll be interested in mining it early
I'll keep on updating the thread and will make it more complete over the weekend

Total Supply: 1,400,000
70% pré-mine but hold your horses, only 1% goes to LEVi development.
The remaining 69% are to be burned, the only thing that prevents that is good deed mining.
The burn rate is inversely proportional to the amount of deeds being performed.
Scrypt POW + POS

Block reward: 1 LEVi
PoS 1%/year
Maturity: 20 blocks
Target Spacing: 64s
Transaction Confirmations: 6 blocks

Deed Rewards:
0.01 LEVi
Remind a random person they're awesome
0.05 LEVi
Hold the door open for someone
0.15 LEVi
Clean up dog poo from the sidewalk
Give a gift to someone
Tip someone for their service
0.5 LEVi
Help a blind person
Help an elderly person
Help someone carry their load, baggage or groceries
Plant a tree
Help an animal
1 LEVi
Donate blood
Provide for an homeless person

Thanks for your comment, there's actually a main project that truly is unique and one of the best ideas for crypto ever. That's the one I'm very excited about, but the sheer scale of it prompts caution, planning and testing. I'll eventually be able to disclose it once conclusions can be taken out from this pilot project.

False positive, I've tested it on 4 different VMs earlier today. If it makes you feel safer, there's a program called Moo0 FileMonitor which allows you to monitor real-time changes to files in your system.

whats the .bat file looks like?

heres mine cant connect to stratum :(

ccminer-x64.exe -a scrypt -o 127.0.0.1:22113 -u LQN5yQrD8pdKsQogXWRQRkU385ZGK6JJmu -p password

pause

Wallet won't sync for me.

Can I get a simple guide for addnodes please?

With cpuminer:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55038.0

create a bat file in the same directory as cpuminer minerd.exe with the following:
minerd --url=http://127.0.0.1:22113 --userpass=<rpcuser>:<rpcpassword>

so how do you suggest a decentralized anon mechanism reward good deeds?

That's the big question we're trying to solve, not just good deeds but with more things too. We're narrowing into AI and voting systems but even so, corruption can seep into voting systems. We require testing. Good deeds makes it a good pilot project.

Alrighty dude, Imma try help you as a good deed.

I suspect that you have not got your conf file setup in your Roaming directory?

If not, find this directory on your PC

C:\Users\*YOURPCNAME*\AppData\Roaming\LEVi

Note where I have put *YOURPCNAME* , you will have the user name for the PC you're using (so maybe it will be "sidharth" for example)

Once you find that directory, create a notepad file, and chuck the following into it:

listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcport=22113
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=THE INTERNAL IP OF YOUR PC (ie , 192.168.0.2, or 10.0.0.2 or whatever it is)
addnode=178.62.25.230:22113
rpcuser=WHATEVER YOU WANT TO USE AS A USERNAME
rpcpassword=WHATEVER YOU WANT TO USE AS A PASSWORD

Then save that as Levi.conf in that roaming directory (IE - do not save it as a notepad file, instead pick ALL as the type then put levi.conf as the file name)

Finally restart the wallet (important).

Then change your bat file in the miner directory to:

minerd --url=http://127.0.0.1:22113 --userpass=WHATEVER YOU PUT IN THE CONF AS THE USERNAME:WHATEVER YOU PUT IN THE CONF AS YOUR PASSWORD

Good luck man!

Potato Pants got it right on,
Do you have a screenshot of your conf file (hide the username & pwd)

Got solo mining up, and earned a whole 3 LEVi so far.

Still, has been a good learning experience, so in a way that is a good deed :)

But I am unable to mine with
minerd --url=http://127.0.0.1:22113 --userpass=user:pass

Alrighty dude, Imma try help you as a good deed.

I suspect that you have not got your conf file setup in your Roaming directory?

If not, find this directory on your PC

C:\Users\*YOURPCNAME*\AppData\Roaming\LEVi

Note where I have put *YOURPCNAME* , you will have the user name for the PC you're using (so maybe it will be "sidharth" for example)

Once you find that directory, create a notepad file, and chuck the following into it:

listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcport=22113
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=THE INTERNAL IP OF YOUR PC (ie , 192.168.0.2, or 10.0.0.2 or whatever it is)
addnode=178.62.25.230:22113
rpcuser=WHATEVER YOU WANT TO USE AS A USERNAME
rpcpassword=WHATEVER YOU WANT TO USE AS A PASSWORD

Then save that as Levi.conf in that roaming directory (IE - do not save it as a notepad file, instead pick ALL as the type then put levi.conf as the file name)

Finally restart the wallet (important).

Then change your bat file in the miner directory to:

minerd --url=http://127.0.0.1:22113 --userpass=WHATEVER YOU PUT IN THE CONF AS THE USERNAME:WHATEVER YOU PUT IN THE CONF AS YOUR PASSWORD

Good luck man!

Thanks a lot. Really appreciate the help.

DEV POOL !!!!!

Yelling DEV POOL !!!!! in the thread multiple times when there is a link to an existing pool is a bit rude, as is the carry on about exchange listing.

The exchange stuff will take a while to sort out I assume. It can also be pretty expensive, so unless you're offering to pay, being impatient in the thread isn't helping anyone.

In regards to the POOL question, check out page one of the thread.

Smart contracts are a bit closer to connecting to dynamically checking for functions related to events but they still have a very large gap to fill when it comes to real world events. I don't see how a simple crypto could reward good deeds in a fair way though. The concepts just keep getting more crazy.

Smart contracts are a bit closer to connecting to dynamically checking for functions related to events but they still have a very large gap to fill when it comes to real world events. I don't see how a simple crypto could reward good deeds in a fair way though. The concepts just keep getting more crazy.

Basically we're implementing TensorFlow to identify genuine deeds that meet all the criterion.
The problem is that we still see ways that people can use to exploit the system. In our main project, we have projects that in order to be successful, the users of our platform absolutely NEED to have confirmation that a certain service happened after the transactions occurred. It's even more complex than that because there is also a NEED to show an inventory that led to a certain price.

What we're doing here with this simple crypto, is a sandbox project as stated in our main site.
The deeds are important for us to document the results. It is not a sustainable crypto in the sense that can live off the implemented deed model forever, once a certain amount of deeds are done and the escrow wallet gets depleted from burning tokens, it shall remain as a store-of-value token.
We've already been able to document interesting behaviours which are already shaping certain parts of the main project.

After stating here that there's no clear exit point, it is also safe to say we'll likely be allowing LEVi tokens to be used on the ICO of the main project which, again, there's nothing like it around. I know that gets thrown around a lot, but we're not just using blockchain, but VR, AR, Haptics, Data Viz tools, in a plan that involves and promotes local economies around the world, all whilst putting off an industry that relies on a model that's highly corrupt. In due time this will be announced properly with all the details you can wish for.

Meanwhile, we want to explore avenues with the LEVi project that are much similar to what steem it is doing with their blogging platform, where even though steem is decentralized, the platform itself isn't, for very plausible reasons.

We'll not abandon projects that's for sure, mostly because the main project taps into a dysfunctional trillion dollar industry and includes a humanitarian aspect that is to be merged into a gamified platform. And that is huge, too huge to dive head first into it without running some tests. Sorry to be too cryptic about it, but that's as much as we feel comfortable saying right now. We want to avoid competition at this early stage.

As for smart contracts, they're nice and will be implemented in some parts of our main project but they open doors for problems that can lead to lost funds in the problem we're trying to fix.

Feel free to ask any questions..

I think it's right if users evaluate good deeds. Users of the platform, by voting, should determine the winners. But for the convenience of users, the platform should be implemented on mobile platforms - IOS, Android, WinMobile. It also requires the ability to directly add and view video from the mobile platform. These steps will make the platform friendlier to the user.

Voting is definitely something we are assessing. The main problem with voting is that you often have these view farms, or click farms which can create fake profiles and vote on a particular profile. That is definitely a way we expect fraud to happen. In our main project this has to be curbed because we cannot have local businesses doing this kind of manipulation. Specially in places that are the most corrupt in the world. We hope to see some of this with deeds and we hope to find solutions for the problems as they arise and take many good lessons from it.

On the mobile discussion, yup, you're bang on. :)

To avoid fake votes, it is enough to introduce a fee to participate in the voting. The amount of this fee should be more reward.

I would love to think that a system like this could exist.  But I just can't see anyway for it not to be scammed unfortunately.

Any kinda of voting seems for each action seems cumbersome and easily gamed. You should just trust people not to game the platform and have some checks to weed out the people who do.

But as they can just make a new account other checks needs to be in place, like a honor system with LEVi rewards based on its level.
