Title: Any GPU Mining Historians Here? Post by: davemanet on October 07, 2017, 07:29:44 AM Hi All, I'm wondering if anyone here is an experienced GPU miner that can tell us a little history with GPU mining and what to expect?
On the one hand, it seems like GPU mining is dying out as ETH difficulty goes up, and other coins are not as profitable. Also I see that GPU's were once sold out, but now more easy to get, which is a sign less people are getting into mining. On the other hand, I see that companies are releasing mining specific hardware like new motherboards just for mining. It seems that some companies see a possible future in mining. So, which is it? Dying or growing? Has it gotten this slow in the past, and what do you think we can expect in the next 6-12 months? Title: Re: Any GPU Mining Historians Here? The GPU mining market is very volatil.On the one hand, it seems like GPU mining is dying out as ETH difficulty goes up, and other coins are not as profitable. It's a compromise beetween investment and market. In the past, the GPU mining was dead one or two times, but it rebirth one or two time. Title: Re: Any GPU Mining Historians Here? Post by: erox on October 07, 2017, 09:29:01 AM It seems to me that GPU mining is dying out, followed by mining at home processors and in the future, ordinary users will be mostly mine POS coins, and GPU mining will be engaged in professional mining company.

It is interesting reading about past of mining in old threads. Expecially when you see people mining bitcoin with old gpu that I had and get full bitcoin out of it.

It is also possible that new coins will be created. So I don't think that market is really dying it is just currently stuck.

These results gave them the miners. The price of the GPU market is kept at a high level so I am sure that this method of mining coins will exist for a long time. In order to increase profitability you need to constantly switch between different coins. |
