Title: [ANN] Guide to creating 1x-16x extenders from 16x-16x extenders
Post by: tyrion70 on June 03, 2013, 06:40:04 PM
Hi all,

Because I couldn't get my hands on any 1x-16x extenders I've resorted to creating one myself.. It was actually quite easy. So easy that I created a guide on how to do it. So if you have some soldering experience have fun!

Cheers,

risers must be at least twice longer than currently on sale...
6 GPUs are too tightly together on mining rig

I've noticed that too.. It's not to hard to make a longer one, especially the 1x-16x because you only have 17x2 soldering points.. all you need is a longer cable. I'm thinking of trying to make one with some old ATI cable I still have lying around although that's definately thinner than the wire on the extenders..
