Title: Switzerland is gradually turning into "the bitcoin country"
Post by: zycrypto on October 08, 2017, 09:49:02 AM
If there is any country which has thoroughly supported Cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, it definitely would be Switzerland.

Firstly chiasso in Switzerland had stated earlier last month that taxes can now be paid in bitcoin in the town, which I've not yet seen any country or city to do so, if you have, please comment the name of the city and country below.

It`s normal that the most democratic country in the world will accept the most democratic  digital currency.
Switzerland is a very innovation-friendly country and they should help for bitcoin mass adoption.
Anyway,it`s just one town.I don`t know about any other countries and towns that accept bitcoin taxation.

Switzerland is indeed one of the most liberal laws regarding bitcoin but it's a start. Remember how popular were the Swiss banks? We now know that they have completely lost confidence after they started to work closely with the FBI. Maybe Switzerland is trying to restore its credibility in bitcoin.

This is good. More and more countries are turning into a bitcoin country and it is amazing to tell that bitcoin is getting recognized or noticed by the countries like switzerland. I hope that in the future, we can see more and more country that will adopt bitcoin and use it as a secondary currency for their country and use it to develop their economy and help bitcoin too.

I really think that is already possible to do that in Japan as well. They do accept it as legal tender, so shouldn't that also mean that Japanese citizens can choose to pays taxes with bitcoin if they want to? What really impressed me with that article, is that apparently there are Universities accepting bitcoin as a payment for its tuition, and that is something new to me, and will definitely help to spread the word about bitcoin.

Swizz are one step ahead of time, and they are very smart, I must say, collecting taxes in Bitcoins means double the income, for them when ever the price increases, also I believe they were accepting it for tourism also. Just a few hours to this post, some one had posted that that their school's and university are now accepting Bitcoins. I feel they could easily cross the numbers for Bitcoins used by any country, though I feel Japan will be the most used country for Bitcoin.

Actually, no. Switzerland isn't a BTC country.
To the best of my knowledge, there hasn't been any sign of BTC support at the confederation level. What we've seen so far are many local initiatives. Like in the small city of Chiasso, or in the canton of Zug, near Zurich.

Switzerland has been one of the more bitcoin friendly countries but i wouldn't call it "the bitcoin country". it is not close to that title at all. a "bitcoin country" would be something more like Japan, where bitcoin is actually legalized and regulated, there are not taxes on bitcoin payments, and lots of merchants are accepting bitcoin there. in comparison Switzerland does nothing!

Pretty much expected from a country like Switzerland pushing to a move like this, a country's bank which accounted for the storage of most of India's black money. Nevertheless, this is a very ideal foundation for more EU countries to follow suite and allow for Bitcoin to be used throughout the country for various purposes.

I’ve read in the news that The Swiss municipality speacilly in Chiasso (Never heard of the town) is going to let residents pay their taxes in bitcoin(amazeballs), its mayor has announced.
Also according to what I have read is that the community, on Switzerland’s southern border with Italy, is in vie with Zug to be the country’s cryptocurrency center which is more likely that the whole country will follow if this will become a successs. Zug, which styles itself as “Crypto Valley,” launched a pilot last year in which it started accepting bitcoin payments for municipal services. The pilot was apparently a success, so Zug has kept the program running.

Although Europe as a whole is distrustful of the crypto currency, it's nice to see that small countries like Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland perceive it positively. Denmark and Sweden in general intend in a few years to go only to digital money, excluding from their turnover of ordinary paper money.

I agree.

Switzerland don't seem neutral anymore xD

I would also add Japan to that list. As of late they seem to be pretty bullish on bitcoin.

Maybe even Russia, hear they're getting into mining over there..

i don't know! as long as there is Japan i don't think other countries have much of the chance at that title :D

this news in OP is just a tiny "talk" more than things actually happening. and it is such a small one too. if you compare it to Japan, they legalized bitcoin for any kind of payment all over the country!
there is a lot of adoption in Switzerland though, i am not denying that. but it is only in top 10 not the first one.

Yes that is really very nice to hear, and hope that very soon we will be able to hear such good news about, i am hopeful that very soon even those countries who have banned bitcoin in present time i think that in future we can expect that they will also accept bitcoin, because bitcoin is the need of the modern time and therefor every county have to accept bitcoin as legal currency.

No need to the beg for mass adoption by the way. The inventors of toothbrush never begged anyone to use toothbrush.

As more countries ban Bitcoin because they are scared that people use it instead of their national currencies (in a free choice) the countries that give you this freedom of choice like Switzerland, will thrive and will become bitcoin friendly countries with all the powerful whales living there. In Switzerland, there are more and more ATM machines everywhere. You can buy BTC pretty much anywhere in the country now. All the train stations have Bitcoin ATMs.

Switzerland been quite active in inheriting Bitcoin and Blockchain tech in their system. Swiss banks were the first to launch Bitcoin asset management service and now Chiasso in Switzerland became the first municipal corporation to accept tax payments in bitcoin.

The Mayor of Chiasso, Bruno Arrigoni, said
Quote
"town is recognised internationally as an epicentre of a growing technological and economic growth for both the canton and in Switzerland."

I think, soon, the whole country will start accepting Bitcoin at government level having Chiasso, a tech hub of Switzerland as an example and that would be a huge step forward for Bitcoin community.

Switzerland certainly has some interesting moves regarding cryptocurrency but it is far from being transformed in bitcoin country. One small town which accept tax to be pay in BTC is a very interesting thing,it would be nice to see others to follow.

It is interesting that for a while buying BTC in Switzerland is very easy using ticket vending machine on railway station, you just need cash/debit card and mobile number which I think must be from swiss mobile. There is also option to buy/sell BTC through ATM using two companies Bity SA and Bitcoin Suisse AG which also offer to buy/sell BTC using their web pages.

I believe that the use of BTC will become even more widespread in future, they are definitely on the right track to become country in which BTC can be used in everyday life.

There is no doubt that you are promoting two things here. First Bitcoin In Switzerland and second your own website named as https://zycrypto.com/, but I can't find any wrong stuff in doing that, because at the end you are promoting Bitcoin and this is the best place to do that. Also Switzerland is setting an example for other nations it is giving people all the benefits that a Bitcoin lover can think Bitcoin ATM, Tuition fees being accepted, a better tax system and much more are being introduced. Also it’s not the only country where tax is imposed on Bitcoin, Japan, Germany, Australia, UK, United States and The European Union.

I think Japan is far more than Switzerland because they really are into bitcoin and it is really legalized on their country. South Korea does the same too, and if it's that so about Switzerland then it is a good signal that many countries are adopting bitcoin, hope that the word will spread worldwide so that other countries might adopt and embrace bitcoin as a legalized currency.

Japan is different because they have adopted bitcoin and even legalized it. However, Switzerland has also been embracing bitcoin but I think there is no official word from the government yet. However, it is still good news to see them accepting bitcoin with open arms and there was even a news that a school is accepting bitcoin as tuition fee payment. They will be one of the leaders in the world in terms of bitcoin acceptance.

Well its not bad to promote his own site though since you do have the free decision if you would able to click that link or not as long he discuss about this bitcoin country thing. Besides Switzerland I do believe that Japan is the first. If this country turns out to adopt bitcoin then its good and we can say adoption is gradually increasing but not totally a bitcoin country knowing that they do have still their local fiat currency.

I don't think Japan is growing faster than Switzerland. I'm not sure if you can pay taxes or not in Japan using bitcoin. I think so, since they consider them as legal tender, so it would be strange if they didn't, but accepting University tuition payments in the form of Bitcoin is a big deal to me. So I really don't think Switzerland is moving slower than Japan. They are both doing an amazing job in my opinion, and others should follow. Actually they already put everything in place to make the growth if bitcoin possible. Now we need more merchants and consumers using bitcoin. We can't neglect that the bitcoin network needs to evolve as well, in order to get more attractive for daily use, and not just long term investment or trade. Once fees get lower and transactions get faster, we will see more and more adoption in these two countries.

For switzerland to accept bitcoin to be used for paying tax it means the country is innovative oriented. The country is technologically advance and the country will reach a great high financially and will be ahead of other countries in the nearest future that are busy banning bitcoin. If we all follow up on some great technological concepts that are coming up we will realize that with bitcoin life will be make simple to humanity.

Upon reading here and there, I found that China, Japan, and other Asian countries too are exploring; however, since many of these countries are still on start up, the alt currencies they have are not as powerful as bitcoin.

Switzerland is the country of cheese and of famous banks. They know what to do for the money to be in their favor. Especially when it comes to banks, Switzerland is the most progressist country in the world. If you have some money invested in a Switzerland bank then you know that you can trust them. I knew from one month ago that some people can pay their taxes with Bitcoin, thus is Switzerland is turning into "the bitcoin country", you can trust the great future of the bitcoin.

Yeah, Switzerland is pretty much the haven of technological innovation. They fully support new technologies and are quite lax with their regulations, careful not to negatively impact their growth. I wish the rest of the world would follow their model.

The Swiss van Falcon was the first to provide traditional banking services in bitcoins. The Bank gives its clients the opportunity to buy and sell the Crypto currency, and also to open accounts in it. Obviously, interest will be accrued on them, the amount of which is not disclosed. Finally. In the foyer of the headquarters Falcon in Zurich appeared bitcoin-ATM. Through it, you can replenish your bitcoin account by making the usual currency, or withdraw from this account real cash. That's cool.

That's doesn't come as a surprise. Switzerland has always been a neutral country with most large banks, so they have to accept bitcoin. They want to be part of it and so they facilitate tech companies to develop new bitcoin related techniques and devices. Switzerland jumps in now, so they can stay ahead with this new currency.

Wow. That's great news! Haven't heard a country allow these kind of payments before. Not even once. Clearly, the pople that run that place are open minded people and are open for new possibilities to improve their country and its people. If only a lot of leaders actually care to think this way and set their greed aside, a lot would really benefit from this monumental technology.

I surely hope Bitcoins and all other crypto currencies become legal also in my country.
