Title: EOS vs. Ethereum
Post by: MediBloc on October 09, 2017, 01:17:03 PM
Recently, EOS presented lots of new technical solutions that can solve the scalability of existed blockchain platform.
Compare to Ethereum, do you think EOS has some power to overcome the market of Ethereum?
Please share your opinion :)

you must be kidding
EOS is an erc20 token. . its a service inside the ETH network
how can it overcome the ETH coin i really dont know
why do they need so much money in the ICO?

EOS is just a token but they are planning to make their own blockchain. Its little weird that they born inside of ethereum network and want to be a competitor to ethereum.
i don't think eos will be a huge network like ethereum.

they "want" to do that, so they could work on that before launching the TOKEN
what they really want is fast money ...
there are projects who work years on their project before launching the coin.. these are the coins we need to buy

I think EOS will overtake Ethereum with it being free so you wont have to hold any EOS to use one of its tokens and devs don't have to learn a new code to be able to create tokens.

Etherium is one of the most progressive altcoines with different Blockchain Etherium breakthroughs with Blockchain bitcoin. Blockchain Etherium allows for smart contracts and Dapps
It seems to remain superior, but if there is a change to the system and adopt more advanced technology all can happen

Nothing can surpass ethereum in the long run. It was even born as small ethereum child. I think this is basically irrational speculation. Yes it can be really good but, no it won't be as good as Ethereum.

That was pretty strange because they are claiming about to decentralize everything, i just hear some people said that the eos try to build a better version of ethereum, and the developers are using the existing code and just do an improvement. And they will be putting it into the new blockchain of eos. Sounds strange for me.

You are right, Etheruim has a working product with several characteristics that benefits the community. EOS on the other hand is just a token, both cannot be compared.

I am not sure about EOS and i am not favour on project that crowdfunded a huge amount of $$ as it is very hard to have the tokens to increase its value in a short-medium term(Profit wised)

But if we talk about Use case, i believe EOS might have its own use case or else, why there's so much money flow into the ICO

Yet, i prefer Ethereum here, i been using Ethereum and its blockchain is just great for investment, ICO, gambling and etc

There are a lot of ethereum competitors in development right now. I'm doubtful that any will succeed in dethroning ethereum, but anything is possible. I wouldn't object to someone putting 1% of their portfolio into each of several potential ethereum developers.

But look at bitcoin for reference. There are a ton of bitcoin clones and competitors, but none have come anywhere close to dethroning bitcoin and probably never will.

Ethereum competitors have the advantage of being able to start from scratch, learning from mistakes ethereum has made, while eth's developers are stuck improving their own legacy software. Still, ethereum has a huge head start, a real market and usage, a large foundation, and a huge war chest. I'd be very surprised if any smart contract platform is ever able to displace ethereum atop that particular mountain.

Well, then the question of competition will come later when eos is a separate platform (still don't get how's that possible). For now it's a part of the system clearly. For know the price has been falling down. The website looks nice and they also have limited no fees offers but eth's transactions are low anyway and I believe this token is just not innovative enough to be even considered seriously for now.
