Title: Avalon #2 damaged

Hello Everyone, my long looked for Avalon arrived in my home when I was (still am) thousands of kilometers away on business trip. As time is money I told my wife to switch it on. I configured it via the Internet trough my VPN. So far so good. It was not running totally stable, so I searched for help and found the controller PCB version 1.5 F1 issue. Described to my wife how to cut the fuse and told her to open the housing and do it. As the miner was open my wife lost confidence because "it's so small" - I said okay, let it run like this, so just restart it a few times per day. Unfortunately there was a screw falling in when she closed the case - and a flash when she was switching on power again. Long story short - my beloved miner is damaged even before I ever saw it. From your log. it's an old frimware(cgminer 2.11), you better update to latest firmware(20130519):

Hello Everyone, my long looked for Avalon arrived in my home when I was (still am) thousands of kilometers away on business trip. As time is money I told my wife to switch it on. I configured it via the Internet trough my VPN. So far so good. It was not running totally stable, so I searched for help and found the controller PCB version 1.5 F1 issue. Described to my wife how to cut the fuse and told her to open the housing and do it. As the miner was open my wife lost confidence because "it's so small" - I said okay, let it run like this, so just restart it a few times per day. Unfortunately there was a screw falling in when she closed the case - and a flash when she was switching on power again. Long story short - my beloved miner is damaged even before I ever saw it. cant you just connect them to some computer with usb, and mine with it using cgminer? The code for all devices is built into the binaries I have uploaded except for Avalon on windows (but why on earth would anyone want to do that?).

Dude,
I suggest when you get back home to unsolder F1 to avoid USb chip overvoltage (control unit v 1.5) and to install usb hub in between (WR703 and FPGA controller).
I do not know how long will you be away from your avalon but if you can afford to leave it offline until you are there and fix the problem that would be best option. Otherwise USB chip can melt
And finally last time when i asked my girlfriend to help me out with wires when i was away it turned out to be complete mess :)
so leave the lady alone :)

PS: if you do have more than one avalon you can install one hashing module in each of the working units and change PSU accordingly + cgminer opts.....

Is the fuse F1 a semiconductor fuse or just a glass tube with a wire inside? Either way, wouldn't it be sufficient to just cut it with a side cut or so?

Thanks a bunch! Where are you located? The programming isn't stored on the FPGA, it's stored on a separate piece (flash memory) that's connected to the FPGA. Everytime the FPGA "boots" up it loads its programming from the flash memory. I'm in the US. *Edit* Actually xiangfu recommended upgrading your TP-Link firmware. That is an easy process that you can do from the Luci web GUI. Did you already try that?

They guy my wife hired to change the power supply did a sloppy job, one of the yellow wires was pushed back into it's connector.
6.5 hours pure flight time to solve the problem in 10 minutes. What do we learn from this? You want it done -> do it yourself.
