So I've been investing in cryptocurrencies for a few months now and I've been trying to figure out the best storage solutions for different coins.  I just ordered a Ledger Nano S so I plan on using that when it arrives.  One wallet that I found really interesting for ETH is myetherwallet.  It seems to be a paper wallet generator, so the keys aren't stored online or anything, but it has an online interface that you can use to interact with the paper wallet.  I think that this functionality is very cool, is there a similar paper wallet and interface hybrid for Bitcoin?  I'm currently using electrum which works fine, but I was just curious if there was something similar to myetherwallet, because it seems like a pretty secure, decent way to have a wallet set up.  It allows for cold storage, but gives an easy way to access funds later without need to download software.

Closest I can think of is blockchain.info, they also don't save information like keys and passwords.

Myetherwallet is online wallet for ethereum ETH, something like it for bitcoins is blockchain.info it is the online wallet for bitcoins, it is the most secure of online wallet for bitcoins, I don't find the problem related with security of it, but always be careful  put the private key on the safe place and never put the bitcoins on one kind of wallet, it is more secure for the funds in bitcoins.

Dont use blockchain.info and think it gives you the same amount control over your address as myetherwallet.com does for ETH. Use bitaddress.org for BTC if you want something as close to myetherwallet.

Yes i think there is currently only bitaddress.org similar to myetherwallet. It is the client-side open source bitcoin wallet.
Very easy user interface with highest security. It is still safe as this was ever before.
By acquiring private key, you can easily swap bitcoins from bitaddress paper wallet to any other online wallets that allow you to import keys.

There's an altcoin who's running an ICO right now who's offering a wallet services and that eidoo and you can download it on play store. But I suggest to read the thread of the dev of that wallet so that you can see how there wallet works. And for reading there whitepaper their service is quitely good and I think they will get a huge success on there ICO.

I like the way MyEtherWallet works as well. After reading the posts here I will probably give bitaddress.org a try. After checking their service a bit more. You can't be too careful :)

Bitaddress.org is much better than blockchain.info because you have your private key like at its pendant myetherwallet and you are good prepared for hardfork in October/November. You can simply import your address to electrum or any wallet, that supports the split and gain Bitcoin Gold.

So I see a lot of suggestions for bitaddress.org, it it sounds good that you can export or import the private keys.  If I wanted to make some paper wallets to give to someone else that could be accessed later then this would work well for that right?

Try https://coinb.in to generate addresses and transactions. You can download the website source and run it locally. You only need an internet connection to push transaction.

Yep. private keys can be imported on blockchain.info/mycelium or other bitcoin wallets and then can be spent. make sure you keep private keys in safe place and have copies of it.

FYI,myetherwallet is not the most secure wallet out there,I wouldn't touch anything with a 10 foot pole which exhibits on the web especially if I'm  to store my money in there.Anyway,what would an investor know about the technical side of cryptos ? :-\

Is that thing open-sourced ? How can you see the stuff is generated completely online without having the db to  interfere ? No matter how you put it,I still think downloading the official chain does the job  for me.Blockchain.info is your closest friend which is quite secure from a long time.

You clearly don't know how MEW works. It's basically just a client-side page for your wallet. Nothing is stored anywhere other than your wallet file that is used to open and manage your wallet or nothing at all if you want to open your wallet with its private key.

And now you are saying that Blockchain.info - which wallet is stored in their database - is "quite secure"; Even after your comment saying that you wouldn't "touch anything which exhibits on the web" (?).

If you are looking for something similtar to MEW, I suggest you Coinbin[1], which is open source, don't require any internet connection and can be used from any PC if you have the email and password chosen when generating the wallet.

That looks like a very useful tool.  Is there any advantage in generating a SegWit address over a regular one?  I am making a paper wallet for someone else to store funds so I want to make sure they can access them later in the future. I know for cold storage paper wallets I should just need an address and private key right?

Yes. You need the Address to fund it with coins and the private key to spend them. This wallet from Coinbin also lets you see your private keys, so you can use it on any other wallet software.

Coinb.in has lots of things to offer, including multisig.

But tbh, bitaddress is still the easiest way to get a paper wallet done. Only if you need things like multisig done do you ever need to use coinb.in instead of bitaddress. The whole process for a paper wallet is very simple in bitaddress, they've got design templates there for you and you can also encrypt your private keys.

We all like how  lightweight and convenient myetherwallet is but to be honest, you will not get anything like myetherwallet for bitcoin probably for security reasons devs won't go there but from other user suggestions, https://coinb.in/#wallet seems like a popular alternative which I will be exploring and hope to be proven wrong.

Yea there is like it i think it is like waves wallet Lite because it has token to comply and has exchages with fees like myetherwallet
 Well it is not much of a fee but if you cash in on it the minimum cashin was 0.01 like hell im doing that so other like bitrex are exchange sites too

I don't think we can rely on coinb.in as anyone with your email and pass can access your wallet there.

Best way to store bitcoin is to use jaxx or electrum app with proper backup (storing recovery phrase). You can also set password/pin for those wallet and they will not share your wallet details anywhere.

seriously guys, use electrum ... its portable, put it on a stick and enjoy.
why would you want to send money via browser over a 3rd party server when you can have direct connection to the network.
webbrowser are somewhat secure but you cant trust a 3rd party server with your keys. period.

Jaxx is one of the best choices for you to select and aside for that I wouldn't trust those site who came to offer there service since Some of them are stealers, and its better for you to store only on reputed one and myetherwallet aswell with jaxx are the beautiful selection for you if you want to store your coin in a safe place.

Electrum is still better and safer, but the OP is asking for a wallet similar to MyEtherWallet. And I suggested him one.
