Whats going on ? Anyone have a grip on it?

Yup that's what happening. As usual people are afraid of loosing the free money and hence they are trying to buy as much bitcoins as they could into their wallets. This will increase chances of getting free equivalent bitcoin gold in the coming days after the hard fork. They will also don't want to loose the altcoins for the fork purpose and hence trying to secure the money with altcoin. That also explains why the prices of bitcoin are increasing right now.

Yes it could be because of the bitcoin fork, people want to get free coins so there could be a lot of trading from altcoins to bitcoin.

Yes dear every Altcoin has been dumping last 2 days.
I think BTC rate is very high and it has pumped, because altcoin have dumped.
don't worry i think it's not a matter, Altcoin will pump today or tomorrow.

I don’t think there has been yet any information from exchanges because it is actually to early for it, also I’m pretty surprised that dumping alt coins and buying BTC for hard fork happened this early... we still got 16 days left...

bitcoin will also dump by the next week because whales want to get cheap bitcoins!

All scenarios are involved coming Bitcoin fork. People wwant tto get free money, turn alts to btc, this is what the current bloodbath of ALT coins. Just hold your breath and go away few days before the panic is over!!

This might continue even in the next coming days, its because of upcoming bitcoin fork, hopefully they will recover once this is all over, bitcoin might begin reaching new all time highs within the next few days.

so it is amazing, but it is going up so quickly, we need to see how the market goes tomorrow.

You are right just this Fork is involve and hurting too much but need to stay calmed because once this is going to end they will recover again and all business will start again as usual currently most of peoples just waiting for free money and buying bitcoin as they can right now

look the BTC Dominance: 52.7% what's happening to the altcoins? is it because of the fork?

I am wondering how many sites/exchanges will support bitcoin gold. Till date not much information (in fact almost zero) about this can be found.
There is only a statement on freebitco.in (also about bitcoin segwit 2x) but for the rest ...

Alt-coin will hit it big once they find their smaller targeted audience, spamming new alt-coins that have no real purpose won't bring anything good.
