Title: Can I use cryptocurrency logos/icons on a product I manufacture without issues?
Post by: kryptopath on October 09, 2017, 08:40:45 PM
Hello all! I have an awesome idea for a product (no I won't give it away), but I need to know if using the logos of cryptos on said product is ok.

The bitcoin logo seems pretty safe - Satoshi would have to reveal himself to sue me :p

But with logos of ethereum, bitcoin cash, ripple and the like... would I run into any copyright-infringement or other issues with using these?

Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom :)

Ok, figured some stuff out. For anyone else interested:

Seems to be no issue with bitcoin or litecoin. No company to claim ownership I suppose.

Ripple has it's own brand use guidelines:
https://ripple.com/files/brand-guidelines.pdf

All current Ethereum logos are under Creative Commons attribution 3.0 according to:
https://www.ethereum.org/assets

A bunch of others to still figure out.

No problem with Bitcoin.

Look, some financial terrorists even managed to create a shitcoin-alt using Bitcoin logo and brand reputation.    Ever heared of Bitcoin Cash ?

I think you're in the wrong sub-forum, though.
