Title: *RESOLVED* DO NOT play at Bitstarz.com
Post by: Saligan8six on October 10, 2017, 05:14:41 AM
Bitstarz.com refuses to pay me my winnings of 4.4 btc stating that any winnings from the loyalty bonus that is given out every Friday is capped at 25 mBTC since it is not tied directly to a deposit, even though the loyalty bonus is based on the amount deposited throughout the week or from the previous cashout. They basically stole my 4.4 btc and replaced it with 0.3 btc stating that it was 10x more than the maximum withdrawal amount that is associated with "free" bonuses because I was a "loyal" player and that if I was unsatisfied with this result then I have the option to opt out of the bonuses and play with my own money.

In previous posts here Bitstarz.com tries to claim that the loyalty bonus is there so that players have another chance to win back their money, however, when it actually happens they pull some crap like this and refuse to pay. So as a warning, stay away from Bitstarz.com...the place may look nice but it is a total scam and they will try to find any reason to refuse payment if you win.

Bitstarz is not provably fair

Guess it wouldn't ultimately matter if they are provably fair when they can scam you of your winnings in the end anyways...

This all proves they are shady casino and we should avoid playing there. However I always try to opt out any bonuses casino will offer to not get stucked with lots of hidden bonus terms like this one.

I'm really sorry this has happened to you. Unfortunately there's not really much anyone here can really do, bitstarz is really one of the shadiest casino's around and has seemingly made a calculated decision that ripping off players is more profitable than being legitimate. I'd however encourage you to leave a reference to your story on their trust page:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=307265

Just so that it helps other people find a history of their actions.

And leave a review on askgamblers ( https://www.askgamblers.com/online-casinos/bitstarz-casino-review/ ). Askgamblers won't care, as they make money hand-over-fist promoting casinos which ever casino gives them the most kickback, but it's a good idea to make your story as visible as possible.

Wow. Complaining about free money back from a lost deposit. Unreal. You know most casinos don't give you anything after you lose your deposit. It seems Bitstarz has done you a nice deed to allow you to win some of your deposited money back. You should be thankful and accept whatever they are giving you. If you were my customer I would kick you to the curb and tell you go find somewhere else to play. Ungrateful bastard.

Well, if it's in their ToS, it's hardly a scam.
It should be automatic though, you shouldn't be able to play up to 4BTC and lose your balance when you can't withdraw more than 0.3BTC

Those deposit bonuses to the best of my knowledge are traps, purposely set with hopes players would have been caught long before they meet the disagreeable conditions and that cuts across all the casinos fronting this or that deposit bonuses. It is best to ignore those bonuses, that's how to avoid their noose!

It's funny how you're on every bitstarz thread defending ridiculously unethical behavior ::) (but have no problems calling out other casinos). If there is a cap on the amount he's allowed to win, he simply should not be able to bet such that would exceed it. It is absolutely not fair to allow someone all the downside of their bet, but refuse to give the upside.

For sure it's a fake account they control.

Anyway, from what you detailed OP, seems like it is indeed as scam. This is totally one of the problems of many small gambling sites. They try to cheat their players using their TOS and twisting it in their favor.

I do hope you get that winnings, and btw good winning amount though.

I don`t believe this newbie about this, but there is something about bitstarz. Many people complain on them, my experience there is not good too.
I don`t play there cause I asked nicely about first deposit bonus, match bonus and free spins, they said I just need to deposit and that is it. I deposited a bit more then 50 mbtc, I got match bonus but I couldn`t play all the games, and I didn`t get free spins, reason for that is cause I`m from country that have some restrictions. I asked nicely before deposit, they didn`t said nothing about any restrictions, I wrote to support and I didn`t got nothing, that was my first and last time there.
P.S. Cause I was in the bonus I needed to play, I lost my money on their slots in couple hours.

I remember a year ago they refused to pay some guy to withdraw money because he was wagering more money than it is written in their ToS.

They have made exception in his case but i see this is their regular practice.

edit*

Just to add this:

This is bullshit. You could have cashout 0.3BTC, left game open, deposit 0.3BTC back to casino and win 4.4BTC. There is no difference between doing that and winning 4.4btc directly from bonus.

Open scam accusation against them.

Thanks for putting it so well. It's just another example of a example of bitstarz trying to screw their players, instead of any legitimate business reason.

And it's also basic ethics to never accept bets you are not willing or able to fully honor.  Had Saligan8six lost, bitstarz would've had no problem taking his money.

Amazing can't believe some sites decide to scam users when gambling sites always have a win win in long term. Have you tried creating a scam accussation ?

it is difficult to divide the real casino and the fake one but i think if you search the info about each of gambling site or something like review for gambling site then you can know. i think you can take a look at here which is recommended gambling site and which is the site we should stay away. i guess many members here giving the best info about gambling site so new people or at least people can have a clue when they want to playing gambling. if this is your first time in gambling, then i suggest to you don't use big money but only use small money to see the site is good or not and be careful when you playing gambling and make limit in your bets.

Yes its true. If they have it written in their ToS then it shouldn't be considered a scam however it needs to be within reason.

This is no different then all those other casinos who put withdraws on hold unless you send over your driver license, passport, proof of residency to claim your winnings.

They all put that clause in their ToS and they can enforce it however it doesn't mean its right, especially since this is crypto and privacy is very important.

I feel bad for the OP, and really wish he searched the thread before dealing with that site.

Yet this seems to be a common complaint amongst folks who can't read into the terms and conditions of bonuses.  I mean everything has been spelled out for ages there that most no deposit bonuses have been capped at 25 mBTC ever since I've been there.  Sure on occasion you may get an exception but more times than not you won't.

Most of the folks who tend to complain on here about Bit Starz from the beginning have already admitted they couldn't be bothered to read the rules.  So once again and I've asked this time and time again.  Why bother playing at a casino if folks can't be bothered to read what there getting into? Hell even the popular dice sites have rules and conditions that I"m sure most folks haven't read.  Why because we've created a lazy society where folks feel entitled to there winnings no matter what rules were put in place before the wagering happened.

Hell even the most popular site Fortune Jack has now put into place all deposits are required to be played with 5 times over before withdrawal.  Otherwise your winnings will also be denied.  I"m sure many have not even bothered to read this rule also.

I've just come to the conclusion if you can't be bothered to read anything about what a gambling site expects of you aka the terms and conditions.  Online gambling might not be for you.  Maybe sticking to brick and mortar casinos might do you better.  I visit 2 different casino forums and both actively promote reading the rules and terms and conditions of the web site your getting into before evening depositing.

Yet most players on here would rather cry wolf than admit, well I didn't read the rules and because it's "crypto" we feel we should be paid because were an exclusive group of folks.  That don't feel rules apply to us.  If this would be fiat currency or anything else there wouldn't be this mob mentality.

I will admit happily I play here on the regular and win I do win I get paid consistently.  Biggest win was 13.5 BTC paid out in under 1 hour.  I know the rules, staff, and know what I'm getting into everytime I play.  Just common sense when playing with money ya know?

I've read through their ToS several times prior to them taking my winnings, however, there is nothing that directly links the loyalty bonus to the ToS "free" bonus rules. I even have an email from one of their VIP Managers that explicitly states that their Friday loyalty bonus is a 15% cashback bonus given out every Friday, and since it's 15% of all my deposits for the week it is clearly not a free bonus:

http://i63.tinypic.com/2mepjc0.png

Additionally, there was nothing that would have informed me that the loyalty bonus was supposed to be considered a capped 25 mBTC bonus. Even the Friday email that notifies you that you received the bonus does not provide any statement or link to the ToS, unlike the email notifications for free spins which directly state that those bonuses have "terms and conditions that apply". The only information given is that the bonus needs to be activated, and upon activation you must meet a wager requirement before the bonus expiration date:

http://i64.tinypic.com/2hhge54.png

Given the fact that my loyalty bonus was already 10x more than the 25 mBTC winnings cap for "free" bonuses and needed to wagered at least 35x, and all communications from Bitstarz failed to associate the loyalty bonus to the ToS, any reasonable person would assume that the loyalty bonus isn't a free deposit bonus and clearly Bitstarz is just using that section of their ToS to scam players out of their legit winnings!

Hi there,

I think a casino should admit when they make mistakes, and stand their ground and argue their case when they believe they're right.

In this case, I actually believe that the money was wrongfully taken from you, and it was a mistake from our side. We all mess up sometimes,
and even though you might not play at BitStarz again, we totally respect if that's your decision.

Before you leave the casino however, we're gonna pay you out in full.

It doesn't matter if they are or not but the point here is they refused to pay the winner his winnings by changing T&C also I don't care because I never played on that website ever.

conclusions.

Just saw this one and made me smile. It's quite a rare sight to see casinos admitting that they are wrong in what they've done. I saw so many casinos who wrongfully took money from their customers and still stick to their facade that they are always right and didn't screw anybody. People will appreciate that you admitted it and that you are paying him before he leaves your website. Hopefully, this won't happen again.

Bitstarz is not provably fair

It doesn't matter if they are or not but the point here is they refused to pay the winner his winnings by changing T&C also I don't care because I never played on that website ever.

Hi there,

Pardon me here, but the terms and conditions wasn't changed, so I think you're jumping to some
conclusions.

You're free to play wherever you want, and if you don't want to do that at BitStarz, we're not gonna
force you :)

Olle, BitStarz

I have been following bitstarz since they open their gates to customers. However, as seen in their trust, they have very bad reputation in bitstars. I see that they start to open a new fresh page with their new customer rep Olle.

I remember that a topic, thats why you got red trust from default trust. Many people in this community give right to your customer however you are refused to pay him with max bet rule.

I found the OP https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1454521.0 . OMG i was right, this topic longed as 12 pages. Most of post are behind your customer.

If you are started to admit your mistakes; it may good for you to remove your red trusts and bad reputation by paying this customers 3.45 btc also.

Good luck

Please post Screenshot of your Winning amount 4.4 BTc which Shows you actually plays or tranx hash seeds which shows your winning any link or Something which proof this.
Quote for Reference
I've read through their ToS several times prior to them taking my winnings, however, there is nothing that directly links the loyalty bonus to the ToS "free" bonus rules. I even have an email from one of their VIP Managers that explicitly states that their Friday loyalty bonus is a 15% cashback bonus given out every Friday, and since it's 15% of all my deposits for the week it is clearly not a free bonus:

Additionally, there was nothing that would have informed me that the loyalty bonus was supposed to be considered a capped 25 mBTC bonus. Even the Friday email that notifies you that you received the bonus does not provide any statement or link to the ToS, unlike the email notifications for free spins which directly state that those bonuses have "terms and conditions that apply". The only information given is that the bonus needs to be activated, and upon activation you must meet a wager requirement before the bonus expiration date:

Hi there,

Really appreciate it.

In all fairness, I do think right should be right, and if we at BitStarz mess up, I'll be the first one to admit it and make it right.

We again respect if the player does not choose to play here again after this mishap, but that doesn't mean that we can't pay
him and make it as right as we can. Fair is fair.

I use to really like playing at Bitstarz but it seems like lately when I go to play I barely play for more than a couple minutes and my entire bankroll is diminished and I don't even get a single line win  ??? :-\ :-X

I use to deposit there quite frequently because I loved the fact that when you had a bad luck run they would usually take pity on you and throw you 10 spins just so you could play for just a little longer. Now it seems like I play for a few minutes, loose all my money, and never get free spins. I don't even get the Wednesday free spins anymore  :'( In order to qualify to get those spins I was told that you have to deposit at least 0.05 a month. I can't afford to throw down almost $400 to get 40 free spins that I have to wager 40xs to be able to if I am lucky cash out max 0.05  :-\

I don't know what it is with all the online casinos. It seems like their goal is to weed out loyal customers and replace them with new customers so they can shower them with bonuses  :D

I just wanted to say thank you to Olle for helping me out with this situation and that the confiscated winnings were returned earlier today and cashed out with no further issues.
