Title: How many percentages of your assets are you willing to invest to cryptocurrency?
Post by: MediBloc on October 10, 2017, 05:20:06 AM
Recently, the cryptocurrency market has been grown up tremendously.
Last night, bitcoin was high upto $4,884. Maybe it is much better to invest to cryptocurrency rather than saving in the bank or buying stock.

If so, how many percentages of your assets are you willing to invest to cryptocurrency?

Please share your thoughts. :)

how much i am wiling to invest in bitcoin?
up to 80% of my whole money in the world. and it was actually at that percentage at some point. but i reduced it a little after a while.
the reason is obvious. bitcoin is the only one with real potential in long term and i have never regretted investing in bitcoin. also i mostly buy the dips to increase my share of bitcoin.

how much i am wiling to invest in altcoins?
less than 10%
the reason for this is obvious too. altcoins are highly risky. you can see in the past couple of days each of them lost at least 30% of their values and they are still dropping down. and when they drop they stay down. there is no coming back up to previous highs ever again.

I can't say about how many percentage but that depends on the coin or token itself, If that was promising coin and i put the more money into it, i just put the percentage that i afford to lose by the way

I have similar percentages but I usually invest from a percentage of my salary. About 25%-50% goes directly into crypto, I am still a student so I can manage without those 50%.
From that percentage 80% goes into bitcoin and the rest goes into another altcoin.

If you consider cryptocurrency as an investment then a percentage would do it. There is a saying, dont keep all eggs in one basket. Best is to diversify, whether in types of investment or in types of crypto coins. Generally i invest about 10%-20% of the funds i dont mind losing which i consider lost. Bitcoin is a good long term investment at this point. So i believe majority of that fund should go to bitcoin and the rest should be smartly investment in multiple potential coins. I do 50-30-20. Depends what investment means to you, whether its short term or long term. In the end if it returns good profit, all is good.

I've been into 70% altcoins and 30% Bitcoins. But for now I have no coins on my wallets because I had it converted into fiat money due to an emergency. What I am doing now is that all of my earnings in participating in some ICO's  I will convert all of it into BTC as soon as those tokens will be listed on exchanges because it is safer to hold Bitcoin than any other coins. When it comes to investment, I am not planning on saving in the bank or buying stock for now because I find it more profitable to invest in cryptocurrency rather than fiat money investments which taxes could kill.

In past years over 95% of my investment are in cryptocurrencies. I'm always being into tech sector and don't know in what other to invest.
However, I'm investing only money I can afford to lose. Exactly like gambling bankroll because with those fluctuations cryptocurrencies are very similar to gambling.

Wow it was nice reading this thread from the guys who have invested in cyrpto for awhile. I am a newbie in crypto and I would say less than 1% of my investment is in crypto and I do not want to hurry for a quick profit since rules of crypto seems to be different than traditional investing. I hold mainly bitcoin, ethereum and waves. However I've made a lot more profit then the money I've put it in by altcoins.

For crypto currency investment my percentage division is 60-30-10. The 60% will is dedicated for Bitcoin investment alone, the 30% is reserved for strong altcoin, which is for me is capable of making a good market value and the 10% is for any crypto currency related transactions that I will venture.

I haven't any other investments besides crypto. It's really profitable now. But in some months/years it would be not profitable at all. So we must take our chances (and risks ofcource too) to be at cryptomarket now.

I keep no more than 20% at crypto now. Real assets are not so profitable, but they have real value. Moreover I like to diversify my own risks.

Yes, That might be the best answer. Invest what you can afford to lose.

I would say around 25% of my assets that I am willing to invest in cryptocurrency. Already tried it recently and hopefully it'll work for me. I'm starting off a little amount of percentageand if it works for me I'd go from 25% to 50%. Can't risk everything because we really don't know what might happen.

I'm more conservative, so 20-25% is my total limit. It's good to have other asset classes that you can rely on, for piece of mind more than anything else. I believe in never going all in when it comes to investing.

I had no savings until I started cryptocurrencies. Now I have enough money for a normal existence. All my savings I kept in cryptocurrency. I translate in Fiat as much coins as I need. No Bank I can not offer such income so I don't keep Fiat in the banks. At the moment, this strategy yielded very good results.

Maybe about 60% and the 40% is for saving just in case I needed some back up if I lost my money in cryptocurrency,
But I really think that crypto currency have a huge potential in the future even right now it is showing a strong potential.

I have invested 70% of my portfolio here and got a nice profit for now and have gained back that said percent of my portfolio and have been returned to me. Right now I hold a lot of money here in crypto and the money I have left here from my current investment have gained a lot of profit too. I am willing to reinvest 50% of my portfolio back here if I see another good opportunity to buy.

Currently I own 50 percent of my assets on cryptocurrency as they provide a healthy amount of growth rate to your investment.
25 percent of my assets are Bitcoin, 15 percent are ethereum and the rest are CIVIC and SIACOIN. I am willing to invest around 25 percent more in crypto so I desire to invest 75 percent in crypto.

Well... In percentages this is really hard. What do you call your assets? Do you mean your spare money? Or everything you own, including your car, house, etc.?

I'm just starting out with cryptocurrencies... I think I should only spend a percentage of my spare money. Investing is always a risk. I am willing to take that risk, but only with a part of my assets. I won't ever take a loan or something like that to invest in something. I'll also always keep some spare money for emergencies, not spending every penny on cryptos.

I have around 90% of assets in crypto. But I want to reduce this percentage to 50%, maybe less. I guess the risk of being at cryptocurrency market will increase with time dramatically.

I keep cryptocurrency about 90 percent of my money but soon I will reduce the share to 60-70 because it is very risky

I see that many of you have gone all in or majority is in the crypto currency. Well i wouldnt say that is a bad move, but i feel that is a very risky move. You should have a portion in crypto, some in other form of investment and some in the form of cash. The reason is you should always have some extra cash in case of emergency be it for family or when there is a good opportunity to buy some other good coins. If all your money is in the coins, and lets say there is a bad time, what would you do? Thats why you should also practise investing in some other forms of investment where you do not have to depend on the coins for emergency purpose. There are some good percentages that you can practise to maintain just in case. You know what i mean.

There are too many cryptocurrency, but most of the coins have bright future. To invest for long term i think is the best choice and the percentage around maximum 20%. It is too risky for now to invest to cryptocurrencies because there are too many options that will hard for us to analyze them.

100 years ago this was the formula
33% - GOLD or CASH
33% - Shares
33% - Property

I beleive this is the new one

40% - Crypto
10% - GOLD or CASH
35%% - Property
15% - Shares

I will invest 79% of my asset into crypto. The reasons are all there for all to see! Bitcoin has surpass any asset made in the last hundreds of year and beyond! The capitalizations of the coin is huge and yet there are still potential for growth!

I think we should invest only from our spare money or say side money that we not need hardly in near future, because investment in crypto should be for at least 5-6 months time frame and there is always risk to invest in crypto but also high return possibility there,so i will invest my savings in crypto about 50-60% and it will be 50% in Bitcoin,30% Ether and other 20% in good altcoin.

I invested about 5% of my liquid financial assets into crypto which means this excludes my real estate and other non financial assets. The crypto portfolio itself is 60% bitcoin and 40% alt coins. Market values at the current time may be somewhat distorted due to the madness that has been the recent BTC rally. Long term I expect the alt coin portfolio to dominate the overall portfolio value. At some point an 100x gain in one of the alt coins could overtake the portfolio value of the bitcoins, at least that is the plan. In the near term I plan to convert more fiat dollars into ETH and LTC and increase my crypto allocation to 8% to 10% of my financial assets.

Some of the posters have stated they have 80% to 90% of their assets in crypto which seems overly risky to me especially if governments actively try to destroy crypto currencies such as making them illegal. However, it could also be argued that I am overly conservative in my portfolio construction. I still feel a conservative allocation includes physical real estate, stocks, cash and a dose of crypto.
