Title: 0.001 Bitcoin Tx Fee
Post by: tf2addict on October 11, 2017, 07:53:30 PM
Bittrex charges 0.001 BTC for the Tx Fee.  Is that pretty typical?

That's almost $5 now.  That's insane.  I normally move funds around using ETH to avoid the BTC fees but I do need to move some BTC off exchanges to my hardware wallet.

The problem isn't the fee. It's your exchange. You can send transactions without fees. They may take a week or more to confirm, but it's possible.

Pretty high I guess they are trying to get transactions confirmed quickly to prevent people claiming they haven't received etc. But yeah thats a pretty big fee

The fee shouldn't need to be that high right now. They are overcharging likel due to them being lazy.

They don't want to deal with withdrawals that get stuck or someting, so they just make you pay more of a fee so it 100% is put into the next block

I'll convert my BTC to ETH to get it off Bittrex.  I'll see what the BTC fee is on Coinbase and Cryptopia.
