MJ I have to assume these are not funded but the COA says these are funded? I thought you could only get the COA if you bought these as funded coins?

these coins are beautiful, 2oz of silver, nice and heavy in your hand and the detail is mind blowing. if i didnt already have a funded set i would be bidding here.

How did these end up unfunded and get COAS still?

Per as always with Lealana, any coins that include a COA would require funding.

Per original post for kams, which the link is on this thread, it states: "Certificates - Only funded coins will receive a paper certificate."

From the OP sales thead:
Funding - Not a requirement. Coins not funded will be marked "BTCUYER FUNDED" on their respective hologram. Face value of each coin is 1BTC should you choose to fund it.

MJ can you show us if there is this laser imprinted in the holo

edit: guess it also says this --
Certificates - Only funded coins will receive a paper certificate.

going through the imgur album it doesnt look like buyer funded was marked on the holo either, the fact that MJ has stated these are not funded is good enough, interesting though that neither of these things happened to an unfunded set.

mj, you have confirmed these are not funded for sure?

If, not, would be an interesting error, wow!

Edit: Checked 1st address, not funded.

You are correct, the coins are not funded, despite the COAs stating that they are.
Thank you for pointing that out :D

I should have kept my mouth shut LOL do I get a cut now being these should bring a nice premium for such an error LOL
good luck with the sale

Has smoothie provided any input on this set/error?

Title: Re: .
Post by: smoothie on October 17, 2017, 10:56:00 PM
1.335 BTC

Explanation of this set will come after the auction has ended.

This is not an “error” set as there was no physical error on my part in creating the set.

** If whomever is the bidder below my bid that wants the set and is willing to fund the set, I will gladly ship it to them after they fully fund the coins (after I receive it in my possession to inspect the set myself fist) and sell it to them for their last bid listed in this auction thread (the difference will be my incurred cost). Shipping would be on me as well.

greenplastic you win.

I will likely end up putting up a post on the main KAM thread and probably my website (eventually) clearly stating that these coins are unfunded and that I've attempted to purchase them back in this auction, given the circumstances of them being unfunded.

Now that you will likely own the set, I would assume you wouldn't try to defraud any unsuspecting buyer who thinks the coins are funded, when they are not.

The explanation will be made in those two places on how this occurred and the general details surrounding the set.

so it sounds as if they were indeed an error set

No wonder coinmakers leave the community. smoothie tries to do his own coin line right after a mistake(will have to see explanation) and gets bullied out of doing the right thing by some deep pockets.

while I agree I also think this is what makes this set that much more desirable and Im sure you wouldnt mind having it in your safe.

In my opinion and in my post I will indicate that this is not the case.

As my explanation will show there is no physical "error" about the set.

Of course anyone is free to claim anything is an error and attempt to sell it as that.

Perception is reality.

to be honest i think the "error" side of collectibles is forced now. true error coins are the "Casacius" holo and the newly discovered Kialara error coins that are going to be sent to people waiting for their to the moon bars.

Nice to see a good old bidding war.  But one should know not to go head to head against greenplastic without bringing out the big guns  ;D

My guess is that the original owner of these coins had every intention of purchasing them as funded, leading smoothie to ship him the set without the mark of "buyer funded".  But instead the circumstances changed which forced the buyer to not load the coins. Perhaps an unexpected expense or emergency came up requiring the buyer to justifiably use those BTC on other things.

If this occurred between the time smoothie shipped the coins out and before the buyer received them and instructed smoothie to complete the funding, it would explain why these are not an "error" so to speak, but an unfilled commitment by a buyer.
