Asking for a tips how can you avoid scammer in this forum?
Of course we can avoud it by using trusted escrow, that is the main reason why this forum build an escrow to make all transaction smooth transacted in both parties.
If you do not want to used the srrvices of third party do not deal with low rank users because most of the scammer are at that lower rank account. But much recommended is to used escrow as always.

I'm not looking to an account trust feedbacks but I can easily guest that having a negative trust is not reliable person to believe especially in trading and campaign managing.

My three main rules are:
1 - Always use trusted escrow (when you are making some trade)
2 - Trust nobody (consider every single person as possible scammer)
3 - If something sounds too good to be true, it's most probably scam (nobody will give you free money, BTC ...)

Be careful when clicking on website address, the website might have virus or malware which will infect your computer and steal information such as private keys.  Always use escrow when trading.

Don't take risks with people you meet on forums if you wouldn't do it with people you've known for years. Most people are simply not reliable. If something interests you to want to part with money, escrow services are available to ensure the person delivers before releasing the money.

True that, I would neither trade via forum. Also not even to help people buy coins via PayPal. Better to use exchange or live transaction if possible.

My advice on this topic is to be really careful what kind of wallets you install on your computer.

Do not install new wallets of airdrop coins or new unknown wallets in general.
If possible use an online wallet or a hardware wallet.

And obviously trust no one, crypto is the wild west of the internetz.

There's plenty of good advice here, but my best piece of advice is if it's too good to be true - it probably is.

Other than that, as other's have mentioned - use escrow, only deal with established/trusted members, etc.

I got scammed out of 20 Btc once early in my crypto years because I was too eager too jump the gun. Granted, they were only worth $4 a piece at that point, but it still stings to this day.

I get so many spam emails in my email account everyday. Many of them come from the slack accounts that I am part of. Yesterday I got one from Enigma token sale, where it offered me free tokens and when i click the link, it took me to myetnerwaliet.com. This fake website looked exactly like myetherwallet.
So far, i have not been scammed.
You should be very cautious when entering your private key and never enter your private key after clicking a link somewhere.

The first time i got scammed on the internet was when i tried to buy some coins of a knowed MOBA that i guess that a lot people are playing it.
But it was a very weird scam, i trusted in that guy, and he asked me to send him $10 and he was going to send me some coins to my account, but he dissapeared, and never contacted me again.
It happened like six years ago, but i still remember it like if it was yesterday, because it was my first lesson about scam.

I have seen many people get scammed by especially by google ads. Use ad-blocker with chrome like uBlock Origin. Scan your computer with two anti-virus or internet security suites . Use cold storage if possible. Stay away from exchanges (read about Mt Gox and BTC-e bust).

You can get started with how-to on coindesk dot com

Well it's actually easy to avoid scammers inside this forum. You just have to be more keen or to be more mindful about the details of the project and of the account user. Also, you might want to try asking information about the user or project in this forum.

I was a gamer the last few months before i learned about Bitcoin. During my gaming times whenever i buy in-game items i always let the other party to go first before i send or give the money that is the reason why until now i haven't scammed yet in my games. That is the reason why i am trying to rank up here and i want to gain reputation in the future so that my transaction will become easier and fast.

You can avoid scams by using exchanges instead of buying from users on a forum. The fees are minimum and overall it is much safer. Then move the funds to local wallet.

Do not matter reputation, do not trust anyone in any forum. I was scammed in another forum by a reputable member. Never trust anyone online, use always escrow. And even with escrow never use highly reversible payments like paypal, I was scammed in localbitcoins in that way too  :'(

You should apply some common sense..... If it is too good to be true, it probably is. {People DO NOT just give money away

for free, they always want something in return} Most people come here to make some quick profits and the scammers are

feeding off of that. They know greed will cloud the mind, so they will rush you to make quick decisions. { In doing this, you

make mistakes } If you get any offer {the too good to be true ones} ...you should sit back and relax and think it over. Then

ask other people and see what they think. {beware, people use multiple accounts and answer their own questions.}  ;)

I don't have much experience of being scammed. In my early days in crypto, sometimes I invested in HYIP's, despite that I knew how it works exactly and big risk of loosing money. Mostly times I lost my investments (only $2-$3) and since then I don't want to feed scammers anymore.
I'm not naive newbie and for me it's easy realize which websites/projects are scams without deep investigations
My three main rules are:
1 - Always use trusted escrow (when you are making some trade)
2 - Trust nobody (consider every single person as possible scammer)
3 - If something sounds too good to be true, it's most probably scam (nobody will give you free money, BTC ...)
Your 2nd advice oppose to 1st. If you consider every single person is possible scammer, how you can use escrowand trust your money top erson, who escrowing funds? I can't agree with your 2nd suggestion, I think you exaggarated a bit. Yes, we have to be really careful when thing is related to money, but considering that every person want to scam you, is a bit too much.

its very simple, do not trust anybody to avoid you to got scam, because not at all people (member) here are trust worthy so be careful on who people youve choose to trust for the your transactions, or maybe hire a trusted escrow to be a middle man on your deals just to be safe to avoid scam, or do not deal with someone who are in a newbie rank.

Lesson was learn... never put your details in free distribution/air drop like email address, always have strong password and never use same password to multiple accounts.

False people who try to rob us are very much. We practically meet them at their own pace. We only need to do transactions or exchanges with trusted people. I think that 'new' relationships sometimes only hinder us from getting rich.

Always use escrow.
Always assume there are motives.

Always avoid those who look real nice in a suits (example of course) to get you to buy into things with killer payouts. If it looks to good to be true, it just may be.

However, there are some crazy new inventions here. Learn the "standard" and go from there.

That's a poor attitude. If you aren't going to give anyone a chance in the first place then they will never be given the chance to show their trust. Just don't deal with people who won't use an escrow. Always use a trusted escrow and you'll be fine.

When I started trying to make money online, two guys had a website with which they sold a blogging software. A kind of a stuff with which one builds a website. They advertised and asked folks to try it for a dollar. I paid and started building my website. After 7 days, I was asked to pay for the full service which I did. A couple of days of use after payment, they shut me out.

- Don't trust anyone, unless they're a highly reputable member.
- Don't send anything first, instead use escrow.
- Don't get triggered by bonus/reward. Keep a cool head every time you need to access your money.
- If it's too good to be true, it's probably a scam. Example: Bitcoin doubler, HYIP, etc.
- Always look at their trust feedback.
- Beware of hijacked accounts. Hacked accounts are on the rise lately. Check their trust page to see if their password and email are recently changed.

Get a strong password for your coin wallets.
Do not give anyone your personal Key.
Beware of links you click. dont click every link you know nothing about.

I was scamed here on Bitcointalk. I translated a project and the owner stopped replying to me. Also, I bought Ethereum Dark and eBTC, which everyone claims they are scam. Now I just wait, from what I know, even scams get to survive long enough to become the heroes.
