Would there be a down trend before BTC takes its next level.. opinion pls

We do not know what will happen to the price of bitcoins after the hard fork. We can base on the previous hard fork where it increased by nearly $ 1,500 at the previous price. Or it has fallen due to the sale of people who just bought and hold bitcoins to get free BTG Bitcoin Gold. We now see that the price of bitcoins has increased dramatically from October 1 to the upcoming 2nd hardfork this october 25.

my believe is the win at the last fork is now already in the price of the recent rise included
as everyone expected a rise after the coming fork.
So this time the rise comes before NOT after.

If you look at the historical charts, usually it takes off after a previous dip. Its just a about a month when bitcoin dip to low levels of $2900 but once its consolidates it took off to where we are now. So it looks like we might experience a down trend along the way, but no one for sure when its gonna happened. If you are waiting for the down trend so that you can buy bitcoin, then you have to wait because as I have explain no one really knows if its gonna occurred after Oct. 25 or not. So if that is your strategy, I suggest you just hold your coins, and just wait for the perfect buying opportunity.

We're not sure yet as the SegWit2x Fork in November will just have a minimal impact to its price on the market but we can consider the possibility that it will have a downtrend before it will reach a very promising price remember the previous hard fork that cause some panic buying last July when the hard fork date is near which is dated August 1 but eventually bounce back to its former price and reach a favorable price up to $4000+ surely btc will take us to the next level of its price mostly next year.

Yes it will reach high price before fork and will dip a bit and will consolidate its price.There are many instances where Bitcoin dips down most and consolidate its price with a very high speed. It was dipped to $2800 in the last month and is now $4700 and in this week it will cross 5000$ second time.

If I were to bet, I would say $7000 is the next stop for Bitcoin in a year. I think this is a realistic prediction. I have been hearing a lot about $10000. Yes that's possible too in the future. But I don't see it happening in the next 24 months.

I think its easy to reach the $5000, with more good news coming is within reach before the year ends in my opinion .Supposedly they say that  its $10,000 before the years ends, but its not easy at this moment or months onward. 2018 maybe a good year to start for the rally.

true, although many claim that bitcoin will rise in price just like after the first hardfork, but that is not necessarily the case. just pray for the best.

Bitcoin trend is go to 5000 USD price, if we look in 3 months period, trend is that BTC price will go up - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/. And yes, there can be also down trend too, but that is very common in any currency market.

With this kind of momentum still happening for another year?  I'd say we'll be happy counting our profits at 10k USD!  Not only that, I hope the rush rubs off on some of the altcoins so we could get more BTC in the process and be even more stoked about its rise to 10k and above.

If you think this year was good for crypto, think again.  Next year could get even better.  ;)

Now the new target for Bitcoin prices should be $ 6000. Because the level of 5000 dollars went through very easily. Maybe at a level of $ 5,500.

Yes as always and it's normal. It's part of the cycle especially on a currency with high volatility. No way bitcoin price will just increase without any price decrease that will happened on the way. That's why there are so called correction price out of a hard pump. Also, a continous pump always associated with a dump.

Anyway how do you define that next level?

So we can expect more dumpers right now and if you have notice while you visit at trading sites right now, most of the current coins we dumping to exchange for bitcoin. The fast rise was really predicted earlier this month of October and gladly we reached $5000 few hours ago, that's why the price pumped up. It's been so long after that fork fears made panic to some investors but those who remained brave, I guess they are now planning on vacations because of their earned profit lately.

Honestly, no one can know at this stage. This is the time you just keep observing and seeing how things wants to turn out. It is still trying to play around $5300 to $5500 for now, but anything can happen next. I am still very optimistic there may not be much huge downtrend due to the upcoming fork unless there is just a whaly manipulation in the market which would still eventually rise back up and the gap won't even be that much. Support can still definitely be tested.

Yeah, and we're already getting a little bit of a pullback.  Not surprising in the least, given how much
bitcoin has gained in the last few days.  Think about it.  Bitcoin gained something like 10% within
what amounts to hours.  There's no way it's going to continue up in a straight line without getting
a correction....and it's likely to be a big one.

Still wish I had cash, as I'd be buying.  Even Jamie Dimon's daughter bought some.

If you look at the historical data and graphs of bitcoin's price you will immediately notice that before it break in a new price level it must first go down. This coming October 25 we might see some decline but it still the price would go up.

I think there will be a sell off after the fork.  FUD might spread during those times so probably yes, there will be some dip before the next level of Bitcoin is achieved.  I believe Segwit2x will really give bitcoin so much popularity because it is the gateway to enable future updates of Bitcoin such as lightning network and more.

Sigwit is already in. So Lightning is possible already now-just waiting until its in use.
This has nothing to do with Segwit2x.
Segwit2x only means an increase of blocksize to 2MB.

To me the rise has now included all Fantasy for the fork that everyone expect to gain ~15%.
I expect now a sideway move maybe even a correction of price.

Next years future price depends on the regulation of exchanges. As long as Fiat-Crypto exchanges can operate more or less worldwide(ok forget china) the rally will go on. 

We know Bitcoin won't stay on a continuous rising trend for much time, there will be corrections, the price will drop, maybe increase again, then drop once again and so on... If BTC is able to hit $7000 and stay stable on this number next year I'm already happy. There is potential, there is strength to push it up and keep the price high on medium term. 2017 was a good year for Bitcoin, but 2018 can be even better!

In a year? you mean next year right and not this 2017. If my understanding of date is correct a 10000$ per bitcoin is possible on the mid August to September 2018.

And about the downfall, I’m sure as the price now at 5500$ - 5800$ a 3500$ below dip is not possible. It will be at that range and will not go beyond after the fork as it was not as drastic as I predicted it to be.

In the next year? I believe bitcoin will reach $10,000.
Bitcoin new ATH was $5900, we may see it reach $6000 in this month, there are two hard fork ahead, BTG on October 25 and segwit2x on November 18. People will buy more bitcoin and expecting free air drop from those hard fork even though there's no clear statement about it yet. However, nothing for sure in bitcoin world if we're talking about the prices in the future, due to bitcoin price influenced by its development and acceptance across the world.

now we are at $56xx and the highest we can reach at $58xx in bittrex and we are in october 2017 which mean just 2 months away from this year. we have to see what will happen with the fork later so we can know what will happen with bitcoin price but i guess in next year, the price will be around at $7000. we can reach the highest price in this year and next year, i think we can see the another highest price too so $7000 can be reach in the new year.

You can not have a definite answer for now, because bitcoin still correcting it's All time high it can still reach the $6000 mark value we will eventually know when the 25 October come and we can sure see the value we can definitely say what is the safe mark bitcoin can get. but for now let's just sit and relax, because we can sure see the new level of bitcoin and the free coins after stocking some bitcoin in your wallet.

I have no illusions about free coins. I don't believe in the prosperity of the bitcoin gold. I think it will be useless numbers in my wallet. I'm more interested in the bitcoin price following the correction in November. I hope that it will be 5000+ dollars. Bitcoins have great prospects but the constant bifurcation may contribute to increased confidence in bitcoin.

Some speculators say that bitcoin prices will reach a much higher level.
we can say that currently bitcoin prices have increased significantly.
with these circumstances we are all certainly optimistic bitcoin prices could reach 7000USD by the end of the year.
this will make the bitcoin price will have a level value that is much higher than the existing at this time.

Bitcoin could reach 10000$ because it is quite easy for bitcoin we should invest now we should not miss opportunity at this time because this is a time to invest in bitcoin because bitcoin is going forward. After this time stopping bitcoin is impossible so i recommend that we shouldn't miss the opportunity of 10000$ in the end of year let's invest and enjoy the ending of year.

Hey upcoming hard fork is there bro. How you first speculate the bitcoin price to 7k USD in this year. I agree that value increases more than 3500USD in this year itself in the bitcoin price index.
There must be expectation as you said but we cannot manage the price like whales do in bitcoin.
If the value decrease as expected in last fork, the amount we invested to it will be lose all the time.

Next step will be 7000$ I think. 10000$ seems too much. Even though Bitcoin has multiplied its value eightfold this year, it is easier to multiply a lower price than a bigger one, at it is really big now IMO.

I think the price of bitcoin is now $ 5,000 by the end of the year. Because now bitcoin prices have increased very rapidly and reached the peak. We can see the level of $ 6,000 as the result of the division that will be in October 25th. Otherwise it could be 4 thousand dollars.

Forks are actually a non-event these days. Before Bitcoin Cash separated, people were afraid of the unknown. Now a days, people treat forks as opportunities to get free coins. So you have the price actually increasing before forks.

next level for bitcoin might be 7000, happening maybe in the next few weeks before the fork or perhaps in december after the fork. Next year bitcoin should be at least $15k, maybe over $20k

As of now the price is 5700 dollars and I hope it will continue to increase more in the next few hours or days. And I hope we see the price of 6k dollars and the next is 7k dollars. But we dont know what will happen to the bitcoin its crash fast its increase fast also. We need to make a research so we can get a lot of information and those information will combine together so we can see the possible result.

It has really been an amazing momentum. So many events are creeping in and making the awareness to even brew stronger than before. So many big guys want to quickly get in now knowing the level of interest it is generating and the fact that we might have a time that the upsurge might not be stoppable for a little while.

That's true, i think $10k will not reachable for this year although yes a lot of people are talking with bitcoin but i think there a correction first before it hit this price. $7K this year is possible and we all hope that bitcoin really get this value at the end of 2017.

-Yeah,we know that bitcoin can just have a rotational flow of price but the mere fact is that it isn't about the way how easy it is to invest. Due to this matter, we can't predict whether others are just hiding themselves or pretending to be part of bitcoin. If bitcoin will be in next level so that only mean that it is an effective and becoming more successful for many years now. So in other words,there is a big possibility that bitcoin could be in next level.

At this moment the price of bitcoin is already 5800 dollars and im very happy because of that. But I want to increase more the price bitcoin and I hope price of bitcoin before end of this month will become 7k dollars so we can make more profit in the future. More bitcoin more profit to come with us so buy more bitcoin with your extra money  and keep holding your bitcoin.

If that happens before the end of the month, it's really good going for the entire bitcoin users. Looking upon the growth after a sudden pumping it looks to be happening to fluctuate between limited range. So the price might pump high with certain time interval between price to reach $7000.

I'm still in doubt about the 2Xfork FUD, so I kept some fiat money available to purchase just before/after the fork, when everything will be clearer.
It's a little bit risky to invest right now.
