Yes, you will be able to receive it because you are able to see (extract) your private key in Jaxx. However, most likely you will not get it "automatically", you'll need to download a bitcoin gold wallet (or something like it) and insert your private key there.

Don/t you think i't too late to get some BTC before fork? BTC price $5k+ now and to get any conciderable amount of bitcoingold you need to invest a lot of money in bitcoin.

you will get 1:1 this is not a coinswap or exchange
if you have 1 bitcoin you will get 1 bitcoin gold

now i guess what you were reading but failed to understand that bitcoin gold will probably have 1:10 value of the bitcoin.

Where on Earth have you read that you'll get 10 bitcoin gold out of your 1 bitcoin? It's just the same with the past hard fork of bitcoin cash, you'll get 1 is to 1 coin. Don't get that wrong if there are people or wherever had you read that thing that you'll get 10 bitcoin gold, they are just overwhelmed about the upcoming fork since they know that the price of bitcoin is gonna pump and also bitcoin gold is seemingly to have a very good price.

If Jaxx gave Bitcoin Cash it will give and Bitcoin Gold logically. I don't use this wallet so I don't know for sure.
It is never too late to buy bitcoin, but I would better suggest you to not touch your founds till the fork and if you have some more coins on other wallets - better move it all to Jakxx to get as much Bitcoin Gold as possible  ;)

It is not yet comes to the market you are speculating the value comparison with bitcoin. Bitcoin gold will destroy the market place value of bitcoin what it's bump today. However, try to hold the bitcoins as much you can.
BCH dump you may aware as like that this coin also will goes to the dump value in future. Go with ETH or ripple.

Any estimation how much could be the price of bitcoin gold when the event takes place. Also is there any other wallet where we can keep and get the bitcoin gold. Is Blockchain by any way supporting it? Or can anyone share the places where one keep the btc they would get the  bitcoin gold as well?

I don't really expect too much on this Bitcoin Gold but somehow this coins would really give some easy free money by just storing up bitcoin into those wallets who do support private keys and as far as I know Jaxx do support BCH back in the previous fork which we can presume that it would do the same thing. For now I'm using electrum wallet on storing bitcoin as much as I can.I love to see free coins again and dump it for free money. ;D

Even ETH has got dumped today badly so it is not good to hold ETH also because ETH can get dumped any time, bitcoin is superior and what ever hardfork happens it is a good opportunity to earn free bitcoins through it.

Yes, you will get 1 bitcoin gold per bitcoin you have, but you are not going to receive it directly to your jaxx wallet, you will have to do it by your own, i have my coins on blockchain wallet and i will probably move them to bitcoin.com before the fork, so i can receive them directly in there when the fork is done.
Of course i will dump them just a few hours after receiving them.

Hi if i keep my bitcoin in jaxx will i receive bitcoin gold

As far as I know, it is possible to receive bitcoin gold if you hold your BTC in Jaxx. You can get your own private key from their software so technically, you hold your own BTC and have the right to receive bitcoin gold. I think it is not an automatic process as you'll be able to receive it by doing some manual processes. I'm not sure of how this should go with their wallet but it would be best to contact them directly and ask them about it. You still have some time before the airdrop of btc gold so make your move now.

Yah they did state they'll support BCH although crediting users takes longer than expected not to mention they are still working on it http://decentral.ca/update-bch-jaxx/#20171010. I'll also add that they still haven't released an official statement that they will support bitcoin gold https://www.reddit.com/r/jaxx/comments/759gzc/bitcoin_gold_support/do8549z/ so better wait guys. Although technically, as long as you are in control of your private keys you can access it once it goes live. The problem is if you guys are planning on dumping it once the price rises up because the odds are exchanges who'll list it freezes deposits just like what happened on bittrex but the users who got some btc on their wallet there got their bch credited asap so they are able to dump it fast. On the other hand jaxx made it seem that the users can access their bch asap so i wouldn't recommend storing your bitcoin on them assuming that they will integrate it, then again only if you're planning on dumping asap. Anyways, Just be updated we're still not that near

I also doubt in the same kind of success that Bitcoin Cash had. I have saw many talks here on the forum that Bitcoin Gold will not cost so much. But in any case I would like to have it. Don't know about Jakxx wallet, but mine Hashnest wallet gave me Bitcoin Cash and I expect to get some new free coins by the next fork.

Are we so sure Bitcoin Gold will actually happen? And how many serious wallet providers are going to bother to cater for it?

If I actually wanted it then I would transfer my BTC to a paper wallet until the fork and then transfer it out. That leaves you with one private key that you have complete control over. Less messy than a seed and potentially easier to import.

Title: Re: Bicoin gold
Post by: xaxistech on October 12, 2017, 10:00:00 PM
You will receive them anyway, and if you dont, then you have to export your private key to another wallet who is compatible with bitcoin gold and you will receive them instantly, or maybe after 10 minutes max, this is what happened to me on Bitcoin Cash fork.
So be quiet and be pacient for this, because there is more than a week left until the fork happens.
lets see how it goes.

I have a guess that they will (but surely not all exchanges, wallet providers). It already happened on the BCH and there is a greater chances that it will go on too on bitcoin gold.
Well, it is not so risky to try and implement new coins in exchange for more transaction/trade fees that will result in higher profit for their platforms. They also have their free time to quit if the coin turned out to be a disaster after trying.

Bitcoin gold looks like a scam (it's nothing to do with the segwit2x fork, and they appear to have timed their launch specifically to confuse people).

I'd recommend people reading the following thread about it, and all the comments:

Yeah are with you. The news surrounding bitcoin good fork is not even half of what it was during BCH fork, I didn't even knew about the fork until 2 weeks ago. But I think the fork is legit and will most likely happen, trusting any exchange to give you a forked coin is very risky its best having the private key in your own hands.

No list for bitcoin gold and for me this is big scam or its gonna be. Do we need additional bitcoin to coin list, simple answer NO. Dunno why so much fuzz dont think it will be something from this, but to be honest many expect to see same as with bitcoin cash. Dont get hopes high, there will not be anything with this.

There were similar news about first bitcoin hard fork. Now they doing it again. I wonder
how they plan to scam you, if you have bitcoins you will get bitcoin gold coins, and where
is the scam? You do not need to buy them, exchange site will not list that new coin at first
but they will start later to do it. Will they do it or not depends from many things.
I have a little amount of bitcoins, I will not get much this new bitcoin gold coins, but if
I get them I will sell them when I can, sooner or later.
With bitcoin cash everything was more transparent, exchange sites, casinos, wallets, all
they made their announcements before hard fork. Now with bitcoin gold there is a big silence
from all this services and sites.

When the coin splited from the bitcoin sure it will have a market capital, supply and unique value of it own like other altcoins value in coinmarketcap list. I think its value will be 500$ USD atleast in the starting time as time moves up surely price fall like BCH's price.
How the coins should be scam dude. With this coin, people may dump the bitcoin supply, you be careful about it only.

I am going to move all my bitcoins to Binance, because in there i will receive my bitcoingold, anyway, you are going to receive them in all the wallets, because most of them are going to accept them and give you your bitcoin goldies. So be quiet, because you are going to receive them anyway.
There is a user who said that you were going to receive 10 btg for every bitcoin that you own, this is false.
You are only going to receive 1 bitcoin gold per every btc you have on ur wallet.

This is a much smaller launch than Bitcoin Cash. There is no guarantee that exchanges will add it. There is not even public source code available yet, and we don't know for sure there will be proper replay protection. Given that we are only two weeks away from the fork, I'd say it's becoming increasingly likely that some exchanges will not provide BTC holders the equivalent BTCGPU.

Some exchanges (like Bitmex) are already saying they won't be giving their BTC holders access to Segwit2x coins, either. The only safe thing to do -- if you want access to your coins on all forks -- is to hold your BTC in addresses that you control the keys to.

People are expecting for free bitcoin gold in order to get free money again, the history of Bcash dumped will be repeated again.
The first thing I've read about BTG will be sold through an ICO, but they have cancelled it due to market reaction about it, now I've read this:
Bitcoin Gold will only affect you if you own Bitcoin when they pick the hard fork block, that is, around October 25. You will receive the exact amount of Bitcoin Gold as Bitcoin you hold at that block.
They are planning strong replay protection, so you probably won’t have to worry about replay attacks. However, you will most likely need to download a wallet or construct transactions manually to be able to move your Bitcoin Gold tokens.
https://bitcointechtalk.com/bitcoin-gold-what-you-need-to-know-8b3e645be409
I don't how it will be, but as long as you have private keys or can export it, your BTG will be there in time, just have to download compatible wallet for BTG, I'm wondering if there is an Ann thread from BTG devs?

I am sure about jaxx because most of the wallets do not support segwit. There are few wallets which are holding new segwit currencies like before bitcoin.com supported bitcoin cash and they allowed users to exchange internally within their wallets.
No worries if your wallet does not support bitcoin gold. You can later separate gold out of your wallet after october.

Its not too late to get more bitcoin if you are sure you know what you wanted because if the fork is successful, you then get double bonus in the sense that more BCG belongs to you by only holding and aside that, it is expected that there will be increase in the price of bitcoin because a lot of people will be selling their BCG immediately to mop up the BTC available in the market thereafter, you can then sell to make money. But be warned that it is mere speculation that and its not expected to hold that way for certain.

Yes, bitcoin gold has nothing to do with segwit2x hardfork and it will worth something I guess, that's why people buying more bitcoin as they are expecting free btg after October 25. Looks like a scam? It's nothing to do with scam as people will not lose anything during its development as long as you do not send bitcoin to btg address.
Whether exchanges will even list it or not? Of course they will, as long as there are demands from customers, after they get free btg, people will buy and sell it through an exchange.

Sure it's all about the private keys and controlling of your wallets. If you control any wallet for example jaxx here then you are eligible for the credits of bitcoin gold. Make sure you hold bitcoin in it because you will be credited with equivalent amount of bitcoin gold. The more bitcoin you have the more bitcoin gold you will get. You can imagine what happened with bitcoin cash fork. It's like blooming in the rates and people have earned more than enough to live for next year without doing anything. Lols. That's easy money.

This is true so far i dont know if there is a working wallet not a exchange that will be supporting. Correct that you will get ratio 1:1 how much bitcoin that much bitcoin gold same as with cash. But if this comes or hit exchanges it will be very low price if any price come to it.

I have a feelings that date will come and go just as if a fork never happened. I don’t even know the point when it is obvious it does not have the community support.

If they are blind to that, then they need to go for medical checkup. There has not been any update, no development of such and no one is even giving a tangible info about it and we have just barely 12 days before the fork. I won't be surprised it no exchange lists it as you said.

And if possible would you point it out those exchanges that you are telling so that we will know on what are those exchanges because we are not aware of it.

Because so far, we all know that there is no exchange yet that is giving their statement about the support of bitcoin gold so if possible give us the link or statement coming from them.

I don't think it is risky to buy bitcoin now because bitcoin predicted price is $6000+ in nest year so if you buy it now you will surely get results in the coming future. People in he would still invest in bitcoin as it is the best digital coin available on internet and many people are interested in it. So buying bitcoin is profitable very in and it is also never late to buy bitcoin as one day it will become a globally accepted currency and its vale is also ever increasing. so rather than putting you trust on other coins you should directly invest in bitcoin and gain profit rather than risking in new things like bitcoin gold.

Yes, I mean even if you have bitcoins already, it will not harm you if you decide to add more.
