Post by: rx7yt on June 26, 2011, 12:16:33 AM
i sent 10 btc and its not showing up on block exploer or anywhere.  i shut my computer off right when i sent and then relzied it had to be on.  i finally got  it open and it said it was sent but it had 0 connections.  i left the computer running but it still iswnt showing up on block explorer.  this was a half hour ago.  maybe someone shut off the computer at the house?

I'd recommend you wait for better advice, but mine would be to save your wallet.dat file from your %appdata% (assuming W7), copy it somewhere safe, delete all your Bitcoin files, and then redownload the Bitcoin application. Once re-downloaded, delete the 'new' wallet.dat, put your old one in its place, and then run your wallet. It will take around 24 hours for you to re-download the block chain, so if your transaction isn't showing up on block explorer, you should find yourself with whatever balance you had before sending the BTC.

I'm confused, is your issue:
1. You sent BTC, it deducted it from your balance, and it isn't showing up as sent?

2. You attempted to send BTC, it didn't send it, you re-opened the application and nothing is updating?

Or am I wrong in all my interpretations? Haha.

It's fine now, I got the coins and OP can close this thread, but I'll repeat this good advice offered elsewhere on this forum:

Make sure your client is online with a good amount of connections (8?) before attempting any send.
