Title: Jamie Dimon Says He's Done Talking About Bitcoin
Post by: VitKoyn on October 12, 2017, 03:19:00 PM
JPMorgan Chase chief executive Jamie Dimon has said he won't be commenting on bitcoin anymore.
It's a statement that comes a month after his now-infamous declaration that the cryptocurrency is a "fraud." Dimon made the remarks during a third-quarter earnings call with reporters this morning, as cited by CNBC.

He reportedly said:
"I wouldn't put this high on the category of important things in the world, but I'm not going to talk about bitcoin anymore."

Maybe after bitcoin hits its new all time high earlier today he realizes that he was wrong? And finally the clown stops spreading false informations. What are your thoughts?

He is the epitome of middle age where most (not all) people fail to comprehend new technological developments. My guess is that he has no remote idea about how Bitcoin works and his initial statement was based on the fact that Bitcoin was 'made out of thin air'.

You may be right, after seeing today's Bitcoin ATH price, combined with possible research after all that backlash he could have realized that Bitcoin is important, valuable and here to stay.
You could also be wrong though and this could be a coincidence.

I don’t care. Most of us are done with listening to guys like him. Bitcoin was created as an alternative to the system he is an important part of so it’s not surprising that criticism comes from it.

I think it is positive to be able to weigh different opinions and consider criticism towards bitcoin but what it’s not positive is to listen to FUD from establishment.

Could it be he spread FUD and bought the dip and quit?

He better be not talking about Bitcoin or manipulating market in any way just for company's profit. I don't think that this statement came as a setback of his earlier statement going wrong. But because he encountered huge criticism for him calling Bitcoin a fraud and creating a fud for buying Bitcoin at dip. Other bankers of the Wall Street are in favor of Bitcoin and are thinking of providing crypto related services. JPMorgan certainly can't lose that opportunity by being wary of Bitcoin and losing off their competitors.

This is simple business.

He kind of proved how out of touch he is when he spoke that rubbish about bitcoin in the first place and now as we can see where bitcoin is going and he can see the backlash he received the safest thing for him to do is to shut up and not speak about anything he clearly has no understanding of and clearly has no interest in doing the research on.

He been realize that what he was saying a months ago was incorrect [I would want to say it "incorrect" other than "wrong" as i believe that dimon is a true and professional businessman ] In my opinion he under estimate the capability of bitcoin or what he was say a months ago is just a strategy, he make him self a a bate to lower the price of bitcoin and then dive in after it dump out. Now he see the potential of crypto and bitcoin for him to get safe in the financial eco-system he provably need to shut his mouth up. But dont forget what his capable of. Still he is one of the big name in wall street.

I wouldn't take him seriously anyway. He doesn't know much about bitcoin to make sane judgement. I also heard Cuban talk smack about bitcoin and now he is backing cryptocurrency venture. These folks would say anything to get cheap bitcoins. They mad they missed the train and now they're trying to get in by spreading fud. It makes them look foolish to say the least.

Crypto-finance is a young man's game. Dimon should feel comfortable sailing to Byzantium (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailing_to_Byzantium), now. It's time for the older financial generation to retire and to let the newcomers flourish.

It is good that Jamie decided to stop taking about Bitcoin. I do not think he understand about Bitcoin and he is not an expert in Crypto.

In the sentence he said he will sack any employee who is found buying Bitcoin. This does not reflect good on him.

"I'm done buying in guys, I will stop talking shit about bitcoin now"

Maybe in a few months we will be at the point he will praise it, depending on if he needs to buy or sell ofcourse  ;)

I wonder how much profit did he make by participating in bringing bitcoin price down for a while, his statement came in the same direction with China exchanges ban news. We know everything might change, but people who sold due to the panic caused by fraud can't recover their money, this is how crypto work.

I bet Mr. Dimon uses his smart phone for only phone calls and the only smart thing about him is his smartphone.
