I've been wondering how rust would effect them The body is stainless steel over fiberglass, so no problems there. The frame is an epoxy coated steel. Some cars that drove on the salt and rocks did get chips to the epoxy which allowed rusting, but it's not that common. I've seen some photo sets where people bought one with those touches of rust and cleaned, re-epoxied or POR-15ed, etc... A few people have replaced the entire frame with a new, stainless one, usually as a pre-emptive or visual measure.
