Title: Is it just me or do gpu miners seem to work better on windows? Post by: helmetedwarrior on June 26, 2011, 03:37:05 AM I have tried 4 different gpu miners on my Ubuntu box and only 1 works at 6MH/s...the rest seem to do be doing something but mining isn't one of the things they are doing.

Unless you're multibooting, it's your hardware that's changing the output. And if you are multibooting its probably something like OpenCL not being enabled thru Ubuntu.

In addition, DiabloMiner seems to be running a tiny bit (a few percent) faster on Ubuntu than on Windows. I have no idea whether these few percent are statistically significant. I am running the latest Ubuntu and the latest Nvidia drivers...and DiabloMiner hums along just fine...it just simply will not accept any blocks. Post by: bcforum on June 26, 2011, 09:56:19 PM Device numbering on Linux is generally different than windows. Make sure you aren't using the CPU. I usually try each device number in sequence until I find the magic. |
