The price of DGC has tripled in a very short time and has been climbing at a faster rate since, any good reason?

Yup, seems to be over with now, Fuck I hate cryptsy, I have never had so many issues with one website as ive had with crypsty, orders not being processed, funds not showing up in my wallet, not receiving confirm e-mails to withdraw, 502 site down constantly... piece of shit exchange...

There was no dump. And nothing is over.

Look at the market history to see all the legitimate buys to this level before making false accusations.

ahh you're learning now. I still don't get why websites quote that exchange. You really gotta dig deep to find someone moving more than 1BTC. It's like kids on the playground exchanging nickels with each other, but sure enough you'll see 10khps rigs moving to the top coin on that list only to find the day after when they wanna dump it's too late.

? ... ok, lol. I use cryptsy once in a while for small trades, never for large trades, since the site went up day 1 I knew I would never deal in large transactions there and I have always told people not to judge the value of a coin there too heavily...   anyway

Don't worry mate , just bitter people who have missed out. Vern is doing maintenance on Cryptsy tonight and spreading the load across multiple servers, which hopefully will improve things. Love to all the haters of dgc who said it was going nowhere (Funny how Bitcoiner is nowhere in sight lol). Solid coin with a great dev. What people don't get is dgc started off fairly with no premine and is designed not to be your pump and dump type alt like alot of others. Volume is at record levels for dgc on Cryptsy. Even the btc-e troll box is coming round to dgc lol. Up to at least .001 by next week if not sooner.

The price is rocketing because:

2. Advertising platform
3. Online wallet
4. Active developers
5. Most stable fast crypto
6. Active community(see thread)
7. Fair launch
8. Well thought out parameters
9. Optimizations to client

valid argument as there has been 135BTC in action assuming the latest price. The hard part is deciding if it's volume of dumping or volume of value.

Is it really true that that this was a no instamine, good fair launch?

I was not aware that any of the recent spate of coins had not been just another instamined / "pre-mined right in front of your eyes, come join the pre-mine, massively more blocks per hour than the purported eventual target time" orphan-fest bullshit a second or less per block types of "launch" ?

What percent of the coins mined in the first 100 days were mined the first day?

Thats it, no pre-mine... PXC is leaps and bounds better as far as innovation tied with coins performance from the developers backing. DGC dosent compare. Ive seen all this a thousand times. There is a chance I could be wrong with PXC, sure, but JohnCar and his development team has put more behind PXC than any other developer has put behind any other coin in a while. Id like to see someone challenge that too.

I have great trust in Baritus. Never seen a dev buying his own coins on Bitcointalk before, soon after its launch.

Along with a bunch of underhanded things he did.

Yeah I know about them. But those Devs insta-mined a huge percentage of their own coin in first hours. However digicoin reward was too low for initial blocks to be insta-mined.

Considering DGC has been out for several weeks now, it kind of blows your pump and dump theory, the miners already tried that back in May.

DGC has moved along since then.


Of course insta-mine claims absolute BS, if folks knew anything about DGC they would have known it has built in insta-mine protection in the source code put there by the devs.

In next 24 hours DGC price will surpass its initial launch price on cryptsy (0.0007ish). It it stays above that i am extremely bullish on DGC.

Don't think any other coin released lately made such a rebound.

Fixed that for you.  It is shocking to me that the marketplace is listed as the first thing on your list.  There are a few big issues with the marketplace, probably stemming from the fact that it was so rushed to be released.

It lacks SSL which is really surprising to me considering the main target for the website is people whose computers solve cryptographic functions 24/7.  Don't be surprised when you password gets cracked.  Hell, any website that involves moving money should have SSL.  

I guess the other main issue is the products.  Earlier today I saw someone selling a unicorn on there.  There is also a house going for a price that is greater than all DGC in production, with a picture that looks like it was taken off of google images.

Once you fix it up, and you don't use a crappy template, the marketplace might be a great place for the exchange of products for DGC.
I respect your other work, I just don't think features like an unfinished marketplace are good for the coin.

Do your research...solidcoin version 1 was not heavily premined. The devs and shills were the source of the problem.

Lol this is not a coin where it can be dumped within hours of release. The proper way to pump and dump this would be to mine since day 1, manipulate price a while after block reward is at it's highest (pump), aaaaaaaaand DUMP when price manipulation is at its peak. And that's EXACTLY what's happening.

The miner pumps are done, now it's the trader pumps like fontas et. al. that have taken over. So it becomes a more interesting coin to trade. Miners just send the price straight down which sucks for everyone, traders send it up and down creating opportunities.

typical pump and dump. this one is easier because of the low volume. Pumping WDC would be a lot more difficult.

Every coin is a pump and dump coin (yes even BTC). It all depends on when you buy and when you sell.

I don't think take these people a few serious is a good idea. They just wasting your energy & your time & profit themselves by a few "donations" from underground.

Approximately the same number of coins were mined in the first 24 hours as each subsequent day. I believe about 120k were mined the first day, but the target is 86,400 per day. Not perfect, but damn near perfect. Certainly better than anything we've seen so far.

Again, people feel threatened because of their investments elsewhere. Haters are just trying to protect those investments. Their choice =P

Starts are always messy, a certain number of bocks have to be found before a diff re-target kicks in,  and the blocks come quickly initially, that's why you back off the rewards. Also you get a lot of orphans at the start until the difficulty creeps up, so it took a couple of hours solo mining before I found any blocks.  After a few hours it had pretty much sorted itself out as p2pools came on line and people mostly stopped solo mining.

agreed - even if they are trying to pull a slow motion pump dump by funneling institutional cash back into the currency from the Cryptsy exchange - and from the pools , that's not real money , nibble is gaining real outside investors - real new money = actual gains , we maybe slower , but yours is a pump dump in slow mo.

because in the end you are going to want your cash back. - and 200 mil coins is a lot. ya know. : D
