Title: Transaction from CoinJar account not showing up in the blockchain Post by: ilic on October 13, 2017, 11:34:35 AM Hey all, so i sent some BTC from my CoinJar (www.coinjar.com.au) account to Poloniex like i have done many times before but the transaction isn't showing up in the blockchain.
The BTC has left my wallet but no transaction exists. Any idea how/why this has happened? I've logged a support ticket with Coinjar but they are not back til Monday now. It's impossible for us to tell you the problem. If I were to make a guess, its probably with CoinJar. Even if they have deducted the Bitcoins, it doesn't mean that they have sent the Bitcoins. It merely means that they have deducted the balance in your account. Title: Re: Transaction from CoinJar account not showing up in the blockchain Post by: buwaytress on October 13, 2017, 12:26:49 PM Not sure how CoinJar works, but pretty sure it's just an online hosted wallet and that's always going to be a problem especially when you need your payments done asap. After this experience, I suggest you try to move over to your own wallet where you control your funds fully. That way, you perform transactions immediately (providing your tx is broadcast properly) and you control how soon it gets confirmed. Try an easy SPV like Electrum, I promise you'll learn to love its simplicity.
Best thing to do now is to check the address you spent to (the Poloniex address) and look for it on the blockchain. If there's any incoming transaction, it will show up, even if unconfirmed. If there's none, then you're stuck waiting til Monday. Nothing anyone here can do here if there's no tx id. |
