No, you won't be able to mine equihash bitcoingold with an ethash claymore miner.

You can mine it using Claymore ZEC miner.

Yes you can mine bitcoin gold with your gpu just change the software claymore ZEC miner as bitcoin gold is on equihash algo just like Zcash and eth is on dagger hashimoto algo

I think now the gpu cards profitability will raise slightly but it all depends on the price of Bitcoin Gold and mining difficulty

do we have a bitcoin gold thread on bitcointalk?
There's an inofficial ANN from back when it was BTCGPU: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2133536.0
Seems people tend to open new threads rather than posting in that one, though.

There's a bunch of chatter in this thread --- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2171754.0;all

I haven't seen an offiicial ANN yet, but my google fu may be weak tonight.

I find the algorithm change to be interesting, but only time will tell if it's able to compete with asic powered BTC and it's other forks or not.

Well, there's close to no communication from the people working on this.
Their website is blank and static with no information besides the date, and other sources (twitter, git) don't bring much more information either.
I think that thread from back then is as good as it gets.

As an alternative to Claymore's Zcash miner, you could always go with the EWBF miner.

Personally, I love that you can customize about almost anything and everything with Claymore's miner (be it dual ETH or Zcash). However, if you're new to mining and just want to get started as quickly as possible without thinking much about overhead configuration, I suggest you just use EWBF first. We have everything you need in the official thread of Claymore Zec Miner which can be found in the URL below. Latest version is 12.6 and I am also going to try it to see if there is any improvement.

The algorithm is  Equihash, but the parameters are different from zcash. More memory usage. Miner software needs to be rewritten.. Personally I would like the digibyte approach. More than one POW algorithm.. Then you make sure that all hardware can be used to mine.

is it because of this ?
-    uint32_t nReserved[3];
+    uint32_t nReserved[7];
