Title: burned, learned , recovering , advise Post by: hadoop on October 14, 2017, 09:06:46 PM guys....its pretty bumpy ride for me last few months.....i think every noobs starts like me.....here is my exp, lessons learned, moving forward apporch
phase 1 -- very first when i started learning crypto...i started accumulating bitcoin...then slowly moved some of funds to eth, then LTC.....at this point all is well 50% btc, 30 % eth, 20 % ltc....so as normal person would leave it here.... -phase 2-- now i started reading about other alt coins....then started diverting above portfolio(majority of btc, ltc) max in to top 10-30 picks(not all but handfull off) --Phase 3-- joined some ico's , moved all my eth to here so at this point my portfolio started stumbling .....lost 30-40% portfolio value.at one point... at this point i realized and lessons learned-- 1. learned that phase 2 above are saturated(may move up a bit, but chances to loose 90% capital is high, no matter how much u read/believe in proj) reasons for that is initial investors start to move out from those coins after they got enough profit. 2. now all of those phase 2 coins i started to sell as soon as they reach the buy price 3. then phase 2 funds i diverted to pretty new coins which i believe are good proj under 100/50 mill once i get rid of phase 2 coins ...losses at 10% but with them i learned/confident that i brought some new potential coins next stage......no matter what i planning to keep 30%,btc, 20%eth..some ltc...then rest 50% alts mix of new comers..+ oldie alts.... my strong advice if you keep 50% of your portfolio in btc, eth, ltc ..no matter how market reacts ...u wont be in losses(unless some big news like china ico banning, ..etc) there is strong correlation(lot sr members in this db mentioned to have 50% to btc, eth, ltc but i didnt listen...only realized after hands got burned :)) , if btc raises, next eth would raise , then ltc fallows it....at this stage alts will bleed, but if you have mix like 50% in btc, eth, ltc you are safe..... If I were you and if i Had all the bitcoins I would not have about any alt coins. Alt coins are only entry points into crypto world like me. I could not afford BTC and so i started on ETH and use the ETH to get into ICO on smallerik proportions. In particular " no matter how you believe the project, it could still fall by 90%" I come to very similar lessons and split like you suggested, a friend of mine swaps out LTC for ZEC but very similar portfolio.

50% BTC 20% ETH 20% XMR 10% Spec Coins Then I do bounties and let those puppies ride. Treat them like Lotto tickets... 8) 8) 8) Title: Re: burned, learned , recovering , advise Post by: Rebellious on October 14, 2017, 10:40:53 PM Very true, stay safe, stay on BTC/ETC/LTC!
