Digibyte I bought it at $0.04 then I sold it for loss. It was wrong entry point, I learned my lesson. I don't think even now you should buy it

For now, I really don't have a loss, just paper loss of some altcoins like storj and minereum.  I bought it at the price where it's highest the most.  I thought it will surge more but I was wrong.  Its is now at 50% loss.  For now I am taking advantage of the market and bought it at some cheap price.  Anyways minereum and storj are new and maybe those coins will surge at 2018.  I just keep on holding them as I believe they have potential projects.

That's the point!
Never sale at a loss.
Even the worst coins will have a pump sooner or later.

Same here, DGB rekt me for a percentage loss standpoint.  Though luckily I didn't have much of my portfolio involved in it.  Still bagholding it.  Doesn't make much sense to sell it now at such a huge loss.

When I was new here someone asked me toy buy the coin I don't really remember the name it was a while ago, He asked me to buy it he convinced me that its price will rise we have many many users coming to invest in it bla bla. I bought the coin and since then I have never heard about the coin never seen any ANN thread of it.

No loss from the altcoin trades yet because I recently started with that area and before doing anything I have read many article for tips and tricks.

I have kept all the precautions until now and I'm willing to spend good time with my coins before I can sell them. I will always take up at least 5% of the profits which is necessary to put belief into next trade that I might open up. I don't want to loose my chain of investment by silly mistakes. Hopefully there doesn't come a day when I lose. :-)

Damn. I see that a lot of people here really had lost quite a good amount just because of investing in shitcoins. Feel bad for you guys,  just hope you get back on your loss as soon as possible.

Well for me, i haven't encountered something like this before. Because i tend to study amy investments i make more than I should. I guess I'm just too paranoid. But im glad I am.

But when i make mistakes then at keast i learned. Better to try than not.

This was the bad decision because btc and ETH should not be sold generally unless the market is sinking badly or you require urgent need of money. Both of them are the must to have and the result today is that both coins are performing extremely well.

Why would you buy at that price ? I guess you get too excited and bought because that's like the highest ETC has ever been.
Buying at the climax of any coin totally means you're gonna lose.

Bought Siacoin when it was 800 sats, but I am holding on so paper lose for now.

OMG ! What a drop ! You've got balls of steel to keep them until now.
Sia has gone down to about 73 sats. You need more than a 10x pump to get back your capital.

Again this is another wrong entry point.
People if you want to buy a coin and get money out of it, don't buy when it's going up or at least don't buy when it's already too high (than the average for the past month or two).

Or maybe I have lost that 50$ which I have invested a long time ago, lol can you imagine I have never heard about it. Or maybe that coin is not existed anymore, that user convinced me on a public chat room lol, I thought that it can reach some heights like Bitcoin do. Whatever, 50$ wasted.

You know, usually, in crypto, "long time ago" means lot of profit... ;)

CoFoundIT, QRL and stratis...
Worst graph I ever seen... Always going down, I even surrendered to sell them, because it's not worth anything anymore.

I'll try to focus on "Big coins" now, because second zone altcoins are not worth it except for day trade.

Let's see what happen in the future. But not sure they will pump and came back at their price...

What was your worst loss investing in altcoins? :-\

My worst lost was I think a month ago or two. I bought this other altcoins named triggers, the idea is all about guns based blockchain. So there was this other period they had to burn 70 million, leaving 30 million in circulation.

The value skyrocketed to new highs and I fell for a pump and dump. I bought it at around $2.30 and the value dumped to $0.40. I am still holding hoping it will recover, it's a good thing I didn't buy a lot.

CloakCoin 2nd or third coin I bought. Just didn't choose a good entry-point.
Lesson learned. Btw I threw that money into another coin and broke-even.
CloakCoin has some cool stuff coming up in 2018 and I'm considering going back into it. But I'll see, so many great opportunities that its hard to pick.

Same with me here. I did brought some CORG coins to trade. I loss 0.1 BTc -0.1 BTC last 2016 of january. Yea Bitcoin might now that be big at that time but, still that is money. I did learnd my lesson when it comes to trading. Don't put your money to pump and dumps. You may loss and win. But, more on the red side.

Never had any loss with trading.
Some coins are worth less now then when I bought it but I am a long term keeper.
So I don't really care about daily fluctuations, it happens every day and on the end it will always be worth more.
At least in my cases, all coins I sold were with profit.

I think CRB tokens as my biggest loss. I bought them at 0.02 per token rate and thought that it's cheap and crb will get spiked to 50-60 cents at the least. But nothing like that happened for next two to three months and then finally the coin is dumped completely. Now no hopes from it which is sucking up until now into my heads. :-(

From then onwards I have started investing into coins with huge market cap because they tend to survive the worst situation and we can be assured of break even all the time. :-)

Neo, i bought it right before china cracked down on ICO's and the value plummeted causing me huge losses at the time. Still attempting to recover back to the levels i was at previously now. It's a slow climb just to get back to where i was originally at. Hopefully i can get there in the end. Has taught me to spread/diversify my portfolio more these days ( which is a good thing i guess ) instead of putting all my eggs into one basket.

Worse loss was selling Bitcoins at around $200 USD.

The worse loss for btc is selling anywhere before june when it started going up, 500% in 6 months, pretty big loss.

Just for that unpredictable and uncertainty of alts I try to earn them from signature campaigns or bounties rather than investing into them.

In the beginning of no one without loss I have failed so much with altcoin, the co-altcoin a lot of coin depends on the value of the bitcoin up and down, when bitcoin drops it will typically fall below the brakes. dgb was a good and stable coin but since i knew it for 4k sts it now has 173 sts coming to its original value, failure is understandable with hug people coin so I decided never to hug altcoin long time only surfing them everyday to make money

Hey query is about altcoin buddy. Why you guys with bitcoin suddenly. As I checked marketcap Neo and NEM coins are best invest in the altcoin list. The worst coin to invest as of now is Gnosis and Digibyte since the cost of the coin decreasing continuously.
BCH might take up invested but that you should handle as a short term investment because we may find the value low again after the hard fork in November.,

Patience brings wealth.
Correct, never try and time the market but rather use time in your advantage.

What I feel in investing in altcoin is an advantage because I have some kind of altcoin which I can certainly make as a supporter when one of the altcoin types that I have got a loss. I think such a strategy is really needed for altcoin holders because by having some kind of altcoin that I have this will be a support for supporting another coint that is losing money. I think this is very important to be done by the holder of altcoin yes of course so as not to experience losses that are too significant.

Bad timing dude. And the China crackdown has really put a significant slump on NEO because we all know that its the Chinese Ethereum. Although it has somewhat regain, it will take some time before you can see some profits. Yes, its gonna be a hard lessons to learn, not just for you, but everyone has one way or another has experienced that kind of thing. So I guess all you can do its hodl and hope that it will recover soon to cover your losses. I have tokens though that I didn't sell and I thought it will rise soon, unfortunately the price plummeted already to more than half of its original value when it was listed on a exchange. Too bad.

Trying to invest in a site that is initially very promising for the future, this site is able to offer benefits with interest rates are very tempting if we can invest in it. Many people who are interested to be able to take part of the investment on the site, I also do not want to miss trying to follow the people who have invested in the site.
But the result of the site was lost somewhere, the money coming into the site disappeared do not know the clarity, and it turns out the site is deceiving people who have invested in it.

Sorry to ask but, it was $0,02?

My worst loss is all the damn time I spent excited about really good ideas which ended up being get rich quick scams for shady devs.  Seriously, if some of them spent the initial funding on development they could have made more than their quick grab.  To this day the possibility that what I am rooting for is a scam bugs me.  The waste if time is way worse than a few hundred or thousand bucks here and there.

So I am sticking with great ideas that are clearly backed by real world development.  A github helps.  If it tanks it tanks but at least it was an honest attempt.

I would like to see a list of all ICO's that have github activity, or other metrics indicating authenticity.  Someone should index them in a searchable manner.  Coins and ICOs like SIA, Oyster, etc.

My portfolio has been insanely profitable this year, but I still made a mistake that I'm kicking myself in the balls for. I bought STRAT @ $0.15 held through the pump to $14 and had weak hands selling it at the most recent low of $2.80.

I guess I shouldin't complain, but hell if I had converted it to bitcoin at any price from $10-14$ I'd be a millionare right now. Instead I'm not even a one-hundredthousanare anymore :(

On the bright side I'm going to be making another entry into the market on top of my current HODLINGS in a few weeks once I free up some cash, so it's not too unrealistic to expect my portfolio to be worth $150-300K by this time next year, given how quickly crypto grows :)

Currently my worst loss is buying DO when it was at $3 and it rose to $4, then expecting it to continue rising, it just kept dropping. I kept telling myself that it would eventually make it's way back up to a good price to sell but it just keep falling. I sold it a few weeks ago for just under $1 each. Feels bad man, but since I'm in the airdrop I think that I could afford it to invest it somewhere else and try to make my gains back. I learned my lesson and I'm not going to be so easy to pushover for my sell floor. Now I make hard decisions about selling when it hits that floor and I never fight it or let my emotions get in the way of me making the decision.

My worst loss in investing altcoins is when the time I had sold my Doge coins, Litecoins and Ethereum due to an emergency that happened to me last October one 2017. I dont remember the percentage but I know that was that big since I bought it on high then suddenly fall continously and the sad thing is that most of my Bitcoins are converted into altcoins that time something like 80% altcoins and 20% Bitcoins. I don't really have a choice but to cashout all my holdings because I am afraid the accident will be getting worse so as a preemptive measure I converted all in fiat and fortunately nothing serious had happened to me and I fully recovered from such an injury. If only it did not happened I am still holding those coins now. That is my story of worst loss so far and I am hoping that it will never happen again in the future.

No huge losses here.

But there are some "losses" (haven't sold any of them so maybe they will bounce back)

Bought $100 worth of Espers which are now worth $10 total.
Bought 40 Radium at $5.5 each, they are at about $3 now.
Bought 200 SHIFT at $2 each, worth about $1 now.
Bought 100 Nexus at $2.5 each, worth about $1 now.

Now all except maybe Espers will probably bounce back.
But thanks to NEO (bought 20 at $7 each) and Waves (bought 300 at $2.5 each) I'm still not in the loss.

It happened when this certain token's price (will not say what it is) was declining and decreasing a lot that I was put into panic selling mode and before I knew it, someone had bought the coins. I wasn't paying any attention to the charts (since there are other things to do) but before I knew it, the coins I sold where pumping and had already doubled its price. It was really disappointing but I cannot actually say its the worst, since it was my first time trading, plus, I got those coins cheap, so yeah, it's not that kind of bad. Just disappointing. Although, I learned a lot from that mistake.

This has been a bad bad time for all my alternate currencies. I am almost down to 60% of my holding in bitcoin terms. The worst performing alts for me were databits and zash.

so sad to hear how much people lost in investing in altcoin. this is really helpful for many of us who have little experience in Investing in ICO however I still believe that there are still many altcoin that have make many investors great profit because I have heard many investor on another thread how they make over 300% profit investing in altcoin. i think finding a profitable altcoin is really a challenge. it is really hard to predict a profitable altcoin

The biggest loss happened to me (as I understand) in 2016, when I sold my ETH. I could not expect that I had to wait and see its awesome growth very soon. Now, when I see it is over $330, I realize how much I could earn if I would not get rid of this altcoin.  :( :( :(

My worst loss is LIR. It was an ico which gains like x2 at the start. However, it was later turn out to be a scam where the owner bought like 10 over accounts to hype its own thread, that the price drop like 99.99%. I remember i got in at around 2.8k sat per unit and i sold at 200 sat per unit. Now it was a few sat.

What was your worst loss investing in altcoins? :-\

If you have trustworthy people, there is no problem with some failures. The worst people are false people. Personally at the moment my biggest loss is the sale of several BTCs after my weak rate.
I tend to not worry on the price of an Altcoin because they usually don't get a high value once the money is placed into it. Crypto is weird.

I've made many haha but one I can remember right now is selling 1100 HDG tokens when they were $0.60ish each. Now they're worth way more than that  :(

Invested in IOTA when it was 21k satoshis, and now under 5k. But I'm still holding it. So it's a paper lose of 78%.
