Some change are coming for ETH tody
Etheruem will hit block 4,370,000 today and by the way, start a multi-part upgrade with "Byzantium" code that will make the blockchain lighter and faster.
So far, however, developers have indicated that they are confident the hard fork will be activated without issue – and traders seem to agree.

Will market price of ETH be affected?

Ethereum is super developing coin. So usually after hard fork price going up! Because ethereum become more and more stable and fast!

Hard fork has already been activated! Maybe it's not running full speed but it is active for 2 days now. We can even speak of some results already:
- difficulty bomb is planned to be activated in 18 months
- the block reward is already 3 eth instead of 5 eth
- transactions are getting confirmed faster
- anonymity is increased via zk-Snark.
Mining ethereum is currently a bit unprofitable, but if the price increases just a bit, it would be still at least a bit profitable.

Well, price was going well, I think if it hit over 400 with same diffuculty it would be profitable again. On the other hand, it was a smooth fork. For all I know, no major exchange, wallet or pool suffered.

Looks like ethereum dropped a lot because of this fork,honestly, i didnt expect this fork to happen because i never read in this forum that a fork of eth was coming, but i wasnt holding ethereums at the moment of the fork. But i have seen the charts and it looks like the price dropped from $330 to $300 in just matter of hours, that is scary as fuck, i dont know why it dropped that much in so less time.

Friend don't worry! I think it is not about fork!
Just we had at this period bitcoin rally, so you can't clear understand what was with ethereum.
Anyway ethereum now 305$ and it was even about 270$, that was more scarry!
But actually ethereum will rise in any way, it is the best altcoin ever!

I would not say that ETH is the best altcoin ever. It is among the top 5 but thats it  ;D

Eth is top 3 coin because of the brilliant team behind it, a good team can make or break it.

Every development, every coin, and in this case so significant and allowing faster speed has a positive influence on its price, always if the changes are good.

Yes! And also you can see that 80% or even more off all ICO is doing on ethereum! Can you believe it? Billions of dollars only from one coin! Unbelievable!

My portfolio is pretty much 50% btc 50% eth :) :) as I believe that ETH got a bright future.

I've talked to many dev's in this niche' -they are investing in Ethereum. I am sure that they know what they are doing so if you want to make money, invest in Ethereum..

If you want to make money you spread your investments, don't go all in on anything, and ignore the advice of strangers on the internet.

I am not sure if the price could recover up to $400/500 or something like that ,
It's struggling currently , will they back to below $100 despite after the fork activated?
I hope so , the current market is a little bit overpriced for me.

I heard a lot and got a message from slack about this hard fork eth, but i am not sure the message from slack is correct and i worry it is phishing.
If today's hard fork happens, then how long will it last?
If we have eth and other altc in myetherwallet, what steps should we prepare?

It seems ethereum evolved through this fork, it is now super fast with lower fee, I love this coin. Dumping this diamond is nothing but ridiculous

The highly anticipated Byzantium hard fork on ethereum truly improved the coin, though one may not yet see positive consequences on ethereum as interests for competitive coins like Qtum and zcash are increasing making ethereum's price to struggle around $300 ($298 at present). Maybe over time they might be an increase back to it's previous prices as ethereum regains interests of previous users.
