Alt is hard dumping now because the fork I think .

Do you think when is best time to buy Alt ?

I've been dollar cost averaging BTC and BTC only for the past two months.
You'll still make money with alts in dollar terms, but I feel BTC is the superior choice in term of ROI.

Maybe try splitting it 75% BTC / 25% altcoins?

Alts are dumping because of lasts BTC movements.

They are losing BTC value but not necessary USD value, i suggest you to look at what moves and how.

To answer your question i think now is a good time to buy alts, but if you hold BTC and The rise continues it may be better to wait a bit.

You don't risk too much buying some alts right now, less profit maybe but it depends of your vision and strategy.

When is the best time to buy Kick coin or Cindicator? Kick coin lost 50% in last day.

I'm all in on ALTs ... holding zero bitcoin ... switched my holdings on Friday the 13th  8)

reason:

my end goal is accumulation of BTC , I care nothing of the USD valuation of any of the cryptocurrencies. The goal is accumulation of BTC, and my strategy is to maximise my BTC holdings by leveraging on this spread difference  (that is ALTs are lower, BTC is high at the moment)

Bitcoin GOLD:  the lack of "replay protection" is a real concern, no news from dev. team. why do we need Gold?  by not holding any BTCs when the fork happens I'm hedging against any issues with the fork .. (I don't care for bitcoin gold ... thanks, but no thanks)

I'm betting that the spread difference between the ALTs to BTC will shrink post fork, and the speed this happens to outpace any benefit gained from the "free" tokens.

Least risky option will be buy altcoin now but do not buy large quanitities because always is chance to lose your coin.

I think you already missed the best chance, alts were really cheap the last few days and now they'll rise significantly, especially after BTC fork.

Some alts have been recovering nicely in the last few days but a bigger overall
rise probably will start after Oct 25 event. Still a good time to buy quality alts.

Because of the price value movement of bitcoin alt coin is affected now and i think now is the best choice to but ALT. But try to split your money in 60% to 40%, 60% is for Bitcoin because there are possibility this october bitcoin value will rise again and you 40% is for ALT since the value of it now is in the low price and possible before October 24 the value of it will rise again.

There is a lot more fluctuation in altcoin price that in Bitcoin price. With that fluctuation risk improves. Altcoin price also depends a lot on Bitcoin price, therefor there will be change in price beforebitcoins segwit. I think that now s good moment to buy alts, because as closer we get to segwit more and more people will sell BTC and buy alts. With that price will rise, and in that moment it will be good to sell. That is my opinion at least.

I think the best time to buy altcoin is when the price of the altcoin you want to buy is low. You just wait for the right timing to buy it. But when it increased, this is the right time  to sell your coins. You will wait also for the right time in selling it.

Best time to buy altcoins you miss already, but anyway better buy now then after 25th of october because some altcoins still are on low price. Just check certain bitcoin and make decision

Before 24 october because a lot of people will try to dump all of their alt at the cheap price and we can get it. Never try ti buy alt after the hardfork because the price will be back again. you must remember that.

Yes of course, it depends on a lot of things that you have to take in consideration before buying them, but you might buy all the altcoins that you desire before the fork is done, so the best time for doing it will be on October 24th, before all the people starts to buy new altcoins to re-stock their portfolio.
But i dont know, only try to invest in those altcoins that looks good, not in those shitty altcoins that are probably less than $0,10 right now

I think now is roughly the best time to buy, I think a lot of smart people will get out of bitcoin before the 25th as they do not expect that bitcoin gold will be that successful, logically when they get out of btc they'll likely look to buy alts

I think now is the best time,  The recent BTC run caused a lot of alts to take a massive price drop.  If BTC keeps on going sideways then it is only a matter of time until the alts reclaim their marketcaps.  Look at it this way,  alts are on sale right now!

it is not much about the fork. it is mostly because the Altcoin Pumps have ended. they are not simply getting dumped. and when the dump begins the panic sells start. you can even see this in bitcoin. a whale dumps and everyone else panics to sell fast and price goes down a lot.
the difference is that there are more people to buy back bitcoin because there is always demand for it but it doesn't exist for altcoins ever.

so the best time to buy alts is not now it is not 24 or 25 or any other date. it is only good when the altcoins start getting pumped or at least when they are no longer in a bubble and they reach the bottom.
look at the charts and when you saw a big sharp triangle that is not yet complete it means there is a bubble. price needs to come down until that triangle is complete. then you can feel safe to buy. other times is highly risky.

Well if you are determined to buy then you do not have to buy everything at once and you can split that percentage for the periods mentioned above.

Altcoin is just like a another options. It will not developed in suddenly. So we choose bitcoin only, other coins are not predict the value. After OCT 25 it may change or not. So traders and users are buy a altcoin after 25th OCT before that we should analyse the altcoin value.

I myself feel very confused about it, because I think both are quite risky to do. so I'd rather wait a little longer and keep doing research to find the right time to buy.

The best time to buy altcoin will be in the red zone. Exactly 23 october. It will be the best day to buy much coin for low price

Before the fork, just in case everyone else has the same idea. They will snap up some cheap alts before the inevitable rise so you should do the same thing too.

The market is still quite unstable as there are some that are green and some are red. Take the time to choose what are the coins that you want to buy and for me it's a good time to buy now.

I can't say if it's a good time to buy after the hard fork because the possibility that the price of alts will be up by that time.

After taking profit with the bitcoin gold, most of the people will be shifting immediately to alt coins so it's not wise in my opinion to buy after the fork.

Generally, the best time to buy any crypto coin is when the prices are low but more important is which coin to be invested in. If a man is interested in altcoin then he must go for ethereum, monero, waves or ltc as they all have future but it is best to invest in bitcoin.

For me it is good to buy altcoins now because altcoins' price are surely cheap and can be easily bought. If you are going to invest on altcoins, this is the time to start. Altcoins today are cheaper than their last values so I think it is the time to buy altcoins.

You should start buying alts now but always have some left until October 24. We should expect more altcoin dumping to come as the day nears to Oct 25. Do some research on the most promising alts that you can think of and start buying them. They could provide you good profit when money from BTC move again to alts market. The thing is, you should also save some BTC so that you can get some BTC gold after the fork. Covering both sides of the market would be very beneficial for you in the end.

When the price drops for me this is the best time to buy. The good time to buy at its cheapest price because altcoins will usually go up the value. However, grab the opportunity to buy at take profit when the price high.

Check the chart everytime to determine the right time to buy. The perfect time to buy altcoins is when it is still at the lowest price but it is very hard to determine when it will happen.

The fork wouldn't be much of the main reason for the dip (*not dump) as bitcoin is becoming stronger against most alts which has made them seem like a dump. When it comes to the right time of buying alts , I think when bitcoin has out muscled them you will have a shot at buying cheap alts ,and right now is one of those times

I don't think any time you entered before is good to buy altcoins because there is a total fall of it but instead i suggest you to invest you 100% money in bitcoin best in my opinion they are the most safe investment and the most profitable to. I personally invest in bitcoin and I am satisfied from my incomes. Bitcoin investment will also lea you to a good profit.

Bitcoins value is also greater than altcoins and most of the people trust it and think it good for there money investment rather than altcoins.
