Monetary scientist and bitcoin investor Trace Mayer has predicted the price of bitcoin to be worth $27,000(twenty seven thousand dollars) in four months time from now.

He took to his social media page to predict the price of the world’s most used cryptocurrency, Bitcoin , Mayer has been investing in bitcoin as early as 2008, when the cryptocurrency was still worthless.

I think this news is a couple of week's old, he actually predicts using his version of technical analysis a price of $27,395. He may well be right as he has good track record & has made a fortune himself, interestingly I wonder why he didn't feature in the list of richest bitcoin holders?

As someone who's mining a bit of Bitcoin everyday that sort of prediction get me so hyped. But I would still be mining and holding at a low price too.

Wasn't really investing by that time and maybe that source of OP supplied the wrong info.

6 months is still a large time-frame for crypto holders considering that we are seeing insane volatility in price evry single day. Also, Mayer based his reports in bitcoin's 200 day moving average, which I don't think would be sufficient to come up with bold predictions.

it's not OP fault actually because what he had done is quoting what that site said and the source said.

they're totally faking it while we're all know about the fact that Bitcoin exist in around august 2018.
while he said he's investing it at early 2018 ish.

from this point we should learn :
Do not believe what they said,just do your own research before doing something,and never trust something from unknown resource

and what they want is to gain an attention from Bitcoin users.

Dingbat Trace Mayer just cherry-picked a bunch of prices that disproportionately represented the tops of bubbles, left out any prices from bear markets, calculated what multiplier these prices represented over the 200 day moving average that lead to those prices, and decided arbitrarily what multipliers were "normal" on the basis of this completely doctored sample.

Current market capacity with the price 5680$ is around 95.6 billion $. Having the price of ~27k$ would need market cap of around 440 billion $. This is more than fourfold increase. Where is this money going to come from? In just 4 months? It will rise but not that fast.

That's interesting. However, has he ever made any predictions that were at least a little bit accurate? He might just be trying to up the price.

I believe that postulation is a bit high but in blockchain industry nothing is impossible. That means the market cap will be in trillions. I am watching in six month time.

Wow that is good news. However, that is not something that is feasible. Bitcoin's price now is at 5.6K USD it will take a month, maybe more before it breaks through 6k and 27k is a big number. Where will it come from? We all know that currency tend to circulate so in 4 months i was wondering how will we get to 27k and who will be dealing with such huge amount of money in order to reach that price. I would love to have bitcoin at 27k however, realistically speaking it is not possible in 4months. Will keep on holding until the time comes.

It is a good news if Bitcoin hit $27,000 in 4 months time. But the target price seems unrealistic. IMO, technical analysis is not enough for cryptocurrencies.

I hope it will actually reach that value in 8 months actually, because in 4 months I want to buy 2 Bitcoins, and with this price increase, I won't be able to :(

Such a big amount if ever, maybe therebwill be some evwnts that can make it in such amount. An event including biggest whales or companies joining in btc craze. If ever this thing happen then we need to hold some now.

It would be pretty crazy if it reaches that kind of price though.. millionaires might turn to billionaires overnight . that is freaking crazy

Nice to hear that bitcoin's price will touch 27000 dollars in 4 months . But I don't think its really possible. May be by the end of 2019 that's possible . I think this guy Trace Mayer is trying to increase the value of bitcoins by making this type of predictions. Anyways its good for bitcoin users . Because of his prediction, there will be definitely a slight increase in the price of bitcoins.

Five times increase in four months, after the previous rise of a similar ratio in nine months or so? This is very unlikely. I would not be surprised at all by such increase in four years from now, maybe even two, but not in a few months.

27k is probably a long shot considering the 4-month time frame of his prediction. As of now, the value of bitcoin is around 5k dollars, so considering the amount it would roughly be a 400% increase in value. It can happen, but there must be a very positive market trend that must catapult bitcoin into that value. Right now, however, since many countries are putting more regulations and probably taxation on bitcoins, it can affect how its value would rise.

The prediction is based only on assumptions, but not on any logical statements or facts that why and how would the price reach there in such a short period of time. Of course we all believe in Bitcoin and everyone of us believe it will have a way brighter future than this, but i don't see Bitcoin reaching that mark so early, unless something magical happens and all the world become a fan of Bitcoin in a month and we see a mass adoption which skyrockets the price of Bitcoin to $20k+. Other than that, i only see hopes to reach there, but no much possibility, not atleast this early as mentioned here.

i love enthusiasts people, they like to drop bombs like that but realistically, do you really think in 4 months BTC can go from 5k to 27k? It might happen but let's real, it will not happen not even in 1 year, the gap is way too big.
All in all we hope in such price rise but i'm practical, not in such short amount of time.
NOBODY have a crystal ball or magic wand, future can't be read, just keep holding and pray for the best.. and what is a monetary scientist? in crypto? wow, never heard of that title.

As much as I would like to see bitcoin at 27k, this is unlikely to happen in only four months. I also noticed that the article linked to from the original post was quite lacking in actual information; there was no real analysis or any sort of plausible reason given for the 27k figure. The article was also quite poorly written with several apparent grammatical errors, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement. 

Anyone really has its own speculation on how the price could go. He is bullish and looks like he has a point. However, to each its own as they say. If he believes that bitcoin can go to 27K then so be it. Although most of us thinks that is ridiculous amount for bitcoin in four months. With that said, I don't believed that we can reach that price in short span of time.

$27000 in four months time? I think that's a bit far-fetched. I would speculate for Bitcoin to be around $7000 in four months time. There would be some corrections during this four months period too.

When I first read the caption of this threat I thought I've seen wrong. It seems like very unlike prediction but, history showed us that it can go to any price that we may never guess at the moment .
