I quite agree with the price of bitcoin and the pace at which it grows but I will have a little bit of challenge believing that it will hit $27,395 by February.

The price of bitcoin goes up and down and as such need more than the forecasted time to hit that margin if we analyze it from this angle. However miracles are evident.

What's with the question, "Is it true?", are you asking if it will really happen? It is a prediction so no one knows if the price would reach that until the time comes. For me, it's unlikely to happen in that span of time, but I'm positive that the price will go higher than what it is now. Well, let's wait and see.

Well, most likely not but much more accurate than 27,395$. Something really really big needs to happen to archive such gains in 3-4 months. I hope he's right with his prediction but on the other side this unusual groth would cause a big crash sooner or later for sure. So I would be happy if Bitcoin is growing steadily but healthy.

That's an absurd prediction. $8000, maybe even $9000 would be a much better and very reasonable prediction.

Well as long it is a positive predictions I don’t have a problem with it. It is more for an advertisement purposes for me and why not exaggerating will gain audience and curious readers into investing on bitcoin. And at the end it is our profits that matters and reacting negatively to him for the reason you don’t have same speculation is wrongly place at this time.

If that happens then good for us, but i dont see any chance that bitcoin will hit that high price in only a short period of time.
Bitcoin is still struggling and cant pas the 6000$ mark , so as for that 27,395$ price it  will be so difficult for bitcoin to reach that.

I don't believe it. It would be a fair prediction for after five years but after five months it's nearly impossible.
However, I'm believer in constant BTC and alts price increasement  over time.

I believe it would attain this kind of price or even just 15k mark. Because after some negative comments by some experts slowly there are countries investing in bitcoin. And most of those people who gave negative comments just shut up when the price went up at 5800$. Sad to say when the price was at 3k, they had many comments about investors leaving bitcoin but it turned up higher now.

That is one very precise number. But its just pure speculation, assumption and some good calculations from Trace Mayer.
With another hard fork looming over the blockchain, I doubt BTC will be able to reach $27k by Feb, if segwit2x doesn't cause a major blow to it then $10k is achievable, IMO.

These kind of precise predictions always get my goat. It is one thing predicting $10k by 2019. It is quite different predicting $27,395 by February 2018. Doesn’t he believe that there is a margin of error.?

Increase of price by x4,5 in 4 months ? It is very ambitious.

Is a very exaggerated forecast, imagine that we are not in the $10.000 and we are not even close to the $ 8000 and we are already near the end of October, if we make the assumption that until October we reach  $6000, until November we reach  $8000, until December we reach  $10000, until January we reached $12000 and February we reached the $14000 or even $15000, then, $27000 probably at the end of the next year or the year 2019

true?! it is a speculation, so there is no true of false about it. they usually do some analysis and make the "predictions" not that it always works but most of the time it is in a good proximity of what can happen.
he is using "200-day moving average for bitcoin prices" by the way.

it is not unheard of for bitcoin to rise this much but it is not an easy thing either. although after this year, any price rise like this seems pretty easy. that would be a <5x rise

I don't believe in such predictions. I do not believe anyone. Even if the person says that the bitcoin will cost $ 7,000 this is a good result but where does this number come from. Nobody gives an explanation. Bitcoin denies any formulaic approach to his behavior. No need to look to the future. You need to enjoy the present.

I agree with that as well. The question here is will it be at that price point by February 2018. But with the current pricing I don't think it might reach that pricing it just a span of 3 months. Moreover, bitcoin's pricing is really much increasing right now and it is a good sign of a healthy market.

I wouldn't call it that absurd. It would represent a continuation of the logarithmic pattern. It would be, however, extremely bubbly.

A speculative statement is being asked if its true or not. If its true then its no longer speculation at the same time it can't be false because even by February and the prediction didn't come to pass, we just assume its a failed prediction and not a false statement. People can just make statement without any basis but in my own case I would rather take the day as it comes rather than believing in speculations to make decisions.

What is your opinion? that was a speculation has made by the early investors in bitcoin. i can say that can't be true. And why? the key to double the price of the bitcoin was in the bitcoin halving.
If you are remember what already happened after the halving in 2016 and the price got doubled or even more in this time.

If you look a tthe the charts it may be true that we will come to that easily. Many are speculating that it will go up to $20,000 in february.
Just like last year and this year, all is going smoothly.

It's easy to only look at the ups in terms of the charts. It's possible that the charts don't even mean anything in the long run -- there could be a big drop anywhere between here and in February. It already seems like the pace is slowing down a little bit for bitcoin right now. I think it's feasible to reach 7-8k by February even after all the correction periods.

No offense but there's many factors that could affect the price of bitcoin, whether it'll be capable of hitting $27K in february, no one knows but reading the chart doesn't determine the certainty of the price pump.
After all, it's just merely speculation for bitcoin, however still be pleased if it becomes true.
But it seems that Trace Mayer's predict does make sense by comparing to the price of bitcoin in the past, let's all see since february 2018 is near.

At least one of the spokes person made a good prediction about bitcoin. Really nice prediction about bitcoin price and i agree with this prediction.

I think that it is too much for a prediction. Before, when the first for happened, the prices recovered in weeks and doubled the price of bitcoin in two months. If fork will happen I think it will be recovering within weeks also or even earlier. February seems to be a good prediction of a price hike but $27.395k is quite big, a doubled price as expected. But yes I do agree that if there will be information like this more people will invest and that would contribute to the earlier increase in bitcoin price.

Literally the only person I've seen who has speculated this is this Trace Mayer guy.

Bitcoin so far this year has been doubling at a rate of just under 4 months, which is very fast historically for bitcoin, and I expect it to slow down now - though I'm still expecting at least a tripling in value next year. Saying it is going to double more than twice in four months is absurd. That kind of thing hasn't happened since 2013, and since there is much more money in bitcoin now it is very unlikely to rise at such a fast pace again. I guess the only way I could see a short lived boost on that magnitude (percentage-wise) would be if a few big investment firms all start allowing their clients to buy bitcoin through them in a short period of time, which would bring in millions more bitcoin owners in a short period of time.

There would need to be a LOT of new money coming into bitcoin for it to hit $27k in just a few months. Like big hedge fund money.

The trouble is, none of the exchanges are equipped to handle huge volumes. Predictably, they all struggled today when bitcoin spiked to $6000. They would never cope with a doubling of users, the whole thing would grind to a halt and the price would fall back.

Im not sure about that. The hype is atm to big. Nevertheless, if it will happen i will buy me a ferrari :)
