Title: Best Wallet for android cellphone?
Post by: Hachijuusan on October 17, 2017, 09:24:38 PM
I am thinking about installing a wallet on my cellphone.
The main wallet is on other Devices and / or offline.
In the mobile wallet should be only a small amount for trying to buy something outside or for the ATM transaction or other transaction like exchange BTC with friends outside.

Which wallet do you recommend for a non-technical specialist in the above mentioned case?
Should be as safe as possible, only for small amounts, different coins if possible and fast update or updating in background with low battery use.

Thank you for your recommendations and answers.

I would probably recommend against storing alternative coins in the same one as your Bitcoin coins. There's a few people who post here now and again who have sent their Bitcoin rather than x alt coin.

Thank you. I will check it.
The multi-coin was an idea to avoid too many wallets. Actual I have only LTC and BTC.
Next week will be BTC-Gold added and in November should be anothe new fork with new wallet.
And for the most new AltCoins I need a new wallet for testing. This means many wallets or some multi-coin wallets for windows.
But thisis Off-Topic.

Blockchain, Coinbase and Jaxx are good wallets for you. I personally use blockchain wallet in my android. It works good and max security.

Coinbase isn't a good idea because you don't have access to your private keys. Coinbase gets hacked? You're fucked.
Jaxx isn't a good idea either. They've had a couple of vulnerabilities that the support team didn't want to address.
Not saying blockchain wallet is bad, but it definitely isn't "max security".

I'd go with Copay, Breadwallet, Mycelium. Personally.

I think Airbitz is a good choice. It is designed for new users.

Mycellium. Do not forget to write down your 12 secret words (master seed) and hide it.

I am using mycelium wallet. So far it's nice, I find it very easy to use. If you want to save on network fees, you can choose from Economy, Regular, and Priority. It has also so many security features just in case someone has to jail break. Any idea?

I would choose Mycelium for Bitcoin wallet and Jaxx for altcoins. Mycelium is simply the best Bitcoin wallet for Android. Lightweight, fast, and give you control over your private keys. Jaxx actually supports BTC too, but of course, it doesn't have as many features for safety, backup, and other like signing message etc. It doesn't give you control over your addresses private keys either AFAIK. So, only use Jaxx for some minor altcoins wallet and don't put too many coins in there.

I used Coins.ph wallet because this is the one oftenly used by bitcoin earners here in the Philippines, but I also have Myether wallet for ethereums. Try also Coinomi because it can support not only bitcoins and other famous coins like Litecoin, Dogecoin, etc but also other unfamous coins like Clam coin.

Jaxx, easy to install and sync with your desktop (QR Code scan), easy to use. But like CodyAlfaridzi said: It doesn't give you control over your private keys.
