Title: Best place to buy Crypto in the UK? Post by: Spynz on October 17, 2017, 09:52:43 PM Hi guys,
New to the forum and new to crypto! Was just wondering if anybody has any suggestion as to where the best place to buy in the UK was? I tried Coinbase but they are taking forever to get back to my support ticket as my ID verification failed because i'm actually Canadian with a Canadian passport and live in the UK now. They just haven't got back to me and are taking their time. I know they have a heavy backlog but I'm looking to invest now. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciate. Each exchange has to go through this process and will be very flooded at this time. How long have you waited? It's probably going to be at least 24 hours, but could take several days.

I just thought I'd see what my other options are in the UK from people who have experienced it and maybe see if there's anything else out there that's smoother. I understand the ID verification process is the same, but I'm pretty sure others would get back to me sooner . I'm sure their customer service would be a lot better than Coinbase from what I've read and experienced.

Even if you manage to get verified you likely wont be able to verify your bank account and they don't reply to support messages at all. I've been waiting five months without a single responses to about 7+ support requests and numerous emails with my money stuck on there. Shocking service and if you do a bit of googling you'll see I'm just one of many. Kraken is a much better exchange but I would just recommend buying bitcoins direct from someone so try localbitcoins or the currency exchange here.

Post by: TheQuin on October 18, 2017, 11:01:16 AM I'll second what hilariousetc just said. localbitcoins.com is the one I usually use although the fees will be a little higher they provide an escrow service and you can pay directly into someone's bank account using your online banking. If you trade from the forum just be careful to check the other parties trust rating and preferably use an escrow.
The only reason to buy from an exchange would be if it was an exceptionally large amount as you will get a better exchange rate but higher banking and deposit fees to offset. |
