If you have DLL problem download https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
If you have problem with Nvidia Cuda error, you need to have installed new drivers that support CUDA 9 like 384.xx or newer. Also try set threads to 20 or 26 for every card then you can try to tweak it, refer to Nvidia version down here.
Best Nvidia drivers: https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads

Note: Antivirus might block it.

AMD

Recommended drivers:Blockchain drivers (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx) - for Windows 10 1703
 or the newest 17.12 (http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064) - Adrenaline, these drivers you need to switch to compute workload (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/DH-024.aspx)

AEON is best to mine with AMD CPU should be still profitable, NVIDIA is profitable but has lower hashrate than AMD.

Number of GPUs, if you have 6, so put there 6 or if you use 2 threads, number of GPUs will be double.
Code:
"gpu_thread_num" : 1,

This line is for every GPU, for 6 GPUs paste this line 6 times.  You need numbering index. Start with 0, if you have 6 cards you will end with last index 5.
There are possible tweaks in intensity and worksize for better hashrate.
Code:
{ "index" : 0, "intensity" : 1000, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },

Insert pool address, wallet and password

AEON-STAK-NVIDIA
+ Great hashrate
+ Easy to use
+ Statistics
+ Web stats
+ Low wattage
+ Still in development

- 1% fee

Instructions

Start the miner, it will give you recommended settings for your cards.

Insert pool address, wallet and password

Code:
"pool_address" : "pool.aeon.hashvault.pro:5555",
"wallet_address" : "WmskqCMoyH65Zst2VtFwsWWZZEP81fd3Z7XcsMumf6nxC12ACz8sFfoAbVGARofz6fTthnkuJjwC2FwpRP29ZaKL1iq88hTaT",
"pool_password" : "x",

To enable web stats you need to put port, use some free ports like 16000

Code:
"httpd_port" : 0,

This code is for every GPU, for 6 GPUs paste this part 6 times. If you start the miner with "null" instead of this, it will generate settings for all your cards. You need numbering index. Start with 0, if you have 6 cards you will end with last index 5.
Code:
  { "index" : 0,
    "threads" : 80, "blocks" : 30,
    "bfactor" : 6, "bsleep" :  25,
    "affine_to_cpu" : false,
  },

You can tweak your hashrate with threads and blocks
Choose Value for threads and blocks
https://github.com/stoffu/aeon-stak-nvidia#choose-value-for-threads-and-blocks

The optimal parameter for the threads and blocks option in config.txt depend on your GPU. For all GPU's with a compute capability >=2.0 and <6.0 there is a restriction of the amount of RAM that can be used for the mining algorithm. The maximum RAM that can be used must be less than 2GB (e.g. GTX TITAN) or 1GB (e.g. GTX 750-TI). The amount of RAM used for mining can be changed with "threads" : T, "blocks : B".

    T = threads used per block
    B = CUDA blocks started (should be a multiple of the multiprocessors M on the GPU)

For the 2GB limit the equations must be full filled: T * B * 2 <= 1900 and B mod M == 0. The value 1900 is used because there is a little data overhead for administration. The GTX Titan X has 24 multiprocessors M, this means a valid and good starting configuration is "threads" : 16, "blocks : 48" and full fill all restrictions 16 * 48 * 2 = 1536 and 48 mod 24 = 0.

The memory limit for NVIDIA Pascal GPUs is 16 GiB if the newest CUDA driver is used.
Windows or Linux Interactive Usage

To work (surf) with you desktop system while you are running the miner you need to find a good value for bfactor and bsleep. On windows, you need to set the option bfactor and bsleep if the miner crashs shortly after starting. A good value to start on windows is "bfactor" : 6, "bsleep" : 25. To reach the maximum hash rate you must set both values to zero "bfactor" : 0, "bsleep" : 0.

Output control
Press 'h' (hashrate), 'r' (results) or 'c' (connection) to print reports.

Yes, I have similar results. Aeon is more cpu friendly than monero.
With ryzen you may reach 2400h/s, with a threadripper 1950x a bit under 4000h/s.
With a xeon 2696v3, I reach 3450h/s (with the bios hack enabling all core turbo).
I suppose rx vega could reach 4000h/s (I thing I have read some results like this but can't find them again).

The ratio cpu Hash/ gpu hash is a little higher for aeon than xmr.

On this miner's (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2314608.0) github page it says a 1700X gets 560h/s or is that for monero? So you get 4x the hashrate with CryptoNight-Lite vs CryptoNight?

I've been mining over night using 2 cpu's and an RX 480
Code:
Pending Balance: 0.000000000000 AEON
 Total Paid: 0.000000000000 AEON
 Last Share Submitted: less than a minute ago
 Hash Rate: 3.32 KH/sec
 Total Hashes Submitted: 127619793

This ever going to pay out?
It need to mature.
Quote
What is maturation?

Once the block is found, it will mature. This means the block will be verified by the AEON network.
You dont have to do anything, the maturation will happen automatically.

After your block has been found, it will be “locked”. It will be “unlocked” once 60 other blocks have been found after yours. You can see the maturation state by going to your pool, for example Serenity AEON Pool and switch to the “Pool Blocks” Tab. Here you will see the current maturation of your block under the section “Maturity”.
https://www.hiddenjadestone.com/2017/06/25/aeon/basic-knowledge-of-pool-mining/

with my 4 x Vega rig, i get insane 15000h/s but every share will be rejected by the pool!
Why? What miner are you using? Did you try change pool?

 XMR is more profitable than Aeon via whattomine.
XMR 3700h/s 5.47$/day
Aeon 7400h/s(as you say, Aeon hashrate doubles XMR) 4.25$/day.

Yeah it is now, but it changes every day, the AEON diff is changing a lot.
I also like SUMO it's almost same profitable as Monero sometimes better, I've update my Monero guide with that. In november it will be probably even better, because it will increase block reward from 32 to 36.5 SUMO.
For AEON hashrate you can CPU mine, for example G3930 is giving 130H/s for 1 thread that helps a lot. If you have some bad ass CPU your hashrate will be amazing, even if you go for Pentium you might probably have something between 150-200H/s per thread.

Many thanks to the OP for getting this thread going. I have mined many coins but AEON seemed a bit tricky to set up. I tried it a few weeks ago but couldn't get it running for some reason on any of my 4 rigs. But now I am ready to give it another try with the new STAK release and this thread.

I have already generated my AEON wallet a few weeks ago and just downloaded "XMR-AEON-SUMO-STAK 2.0".  I have unpacked it and looked at the 2 .txt config files but I have a couple of questions that Im hoping someone can help me with"

1- Since there are 2 config files included, how does the .exe know which one to reference?  Do i need to delete the "config" file and leave the "config - AEON" file intact if i want to mine AEON with this?

2- Within the config - AEON file, the only thing i need to do is replace the existing address with my own wallet address, correct?  The pool and port are already what i want them to be (pool.aeon.hashvault.pro:5555) and the currency already shows "aeon".

Is there anything else that I need to do settings wise or in the config file or is that it?

FYI... I am running four 6x RX470 rigs on W10. Still running Crimson 16.10 as i've heard of too many nightmares with the Blockchain drivers.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

The AEON config is for easy start. Miner always use config.txt. For AEON rename config.txt and use the AEON one or edit the config.txt for AEON. Change cryptocurrency to AEON, add your wallet, pool and password. Doesn't matter which of these 2 options you will do.
You can enable port for web stats. GPU and CPU config are separate in their own files. You can use same config as for Monero.

Thanks for the quick reply!  that first part makes good sense... I will just re-name my config - AEON file to Config as I've already updated those fields in it.

However, what do you mean by "GPU and CPU config are separate in their own files"?  I don't see any other files in the pack except dll's and and "nocpu.bat" but there are no parameters in the latter, seems just like a way to launch the .exe.  If i have my GPUs already setup through afterburner and watt-tool, is that sufficient? or is there something else I need to do in the miner set up?

It will auto create configs for GPUs and CPU after first start, then you can tweak intensity, worksize, threads, etc.

Why not use XMR-STAK then? You can try the newest 2.0. Cast uses same kernel as XMR-STAK I think, shouldn't be hard to port it anyway.

I would but XMR-STAK crashes my vega rig (only when I have more than 6 cards installed) for some odd reason. It starts to run normally but slowly starts to artifact until it BSOD and system crashes, but on the same sytem Cast XMR works fine. I'm sure there's some explanation as to why but I don't really wanna spend the time trying to figure it out since Cast seems to be working fine.

NEW XMR-STAK 2.1!! (https://mega.nz/#F!suh3hRBT!RIOHTFE3wR1Rbw5vqsWL9A!hnIG1IZK)
Not official released yet.
Some hashrate improvements.

is it better than xmrig ?
I like XMR-STAK more, but hashrate would be probably almost the same.

Do you know a surprise mining Aeon?

Surface's Atom x7-Z8700. 160H/s on 2W, 2 threads...

On another subject I recently stated mining Aeon, as I realized Cryptonight-light is 4x faster on CPU's (actually Mattthev told me 8) )

On every CPU I tried it's actually true, hashrate is around 4x that of cryptonight (I used to mine monero and Intense Coin on CPU's).

However, I have a Xeon E5645 that I thought it would be just fine for CPU mining (2.4 Ghz, 6 cores, 12 threads, 12 Mb L3, AES, triple channel memory, 80W TDP) but in reality is an underperformer.

It gave ~200 H/s on Cryptonight, but when mining AEON, performance increase is around 3x (~600 H/s). I tried XMR-Stak 2.2 and now Aeon-Stack-CPU, same thing. That is with 10 threads, 11 and 12 are actually slower.

For instance, Ryzen 1700 went from ~500 to almost 2000 in Cryptonight-light and a 2 core 15 W i7 7500u laptop went 130 to 500+ H/s. Now, that's the 4x were talking about.

I know the i7 7500 is several generations ahead, but damn, that Xeon has 3x more cores and 3x more L3 cache, and it competes with the 2 core low power CPU I have on my laptop. Cryptonight and Cryptonight-light AFAIK use SSE and AES instructions that both CPU have.

Am I doing something wrong, or is that the way that is?

hi,

Is there a way i could use old GPU such as AMD HD 5770 for mining AEON?
I always got GPU compute error/errors in all of the miners.

Maybe with some old miner all those new use OpenCL 2.0, but your GPU doesn't support it.

tried old miner still no good same error. All algo is working except for cryptonight-lite

Which algo do I select for mining AEON (which just forked) on Cast_XMR V1.0.0?

http://www.gandalph3000.com

shows:

CryptoNight Lite: --algo=3 for CryptoNight-Lite

    Aeon (AEON)

CryptoNightV7 Lite: --algo=4 for CryptoNightV7-Lite

    Turtlecoin (TRTL)

So do I use "--algo=4 for CryptoNightV7-Lite" for AEON that just forked?

It should be CryptonightV7-Lite. I don't use that specific miner, but that sounds like the right one to me.  If it doesn't work, I can confirm that the latest version of XMR-Stak will work with Aeon now.
