It is not only IOTA price that is falling. All altcoins are affected because of the upcoming BTC fork. Traders are buying BTC in order to receive free Bitcoin Gold during the fork. This causes BTC price to rise, hence IOTA rate fall. IMO, the altcoin market should recover after the BTC fork on 25 Oct.

I agree with many. Now the market is preparing to split the BTC. Many altcoins experience fluctuations in the graph

You should also monitor the prices of the rest of the altcoins. If you do that, you will not be really emotional about IOTA falling down. It is because the rest of the altcoins are also falling down in their values. That is understandable because of the movements of bitcoin. Sit back and relax because IOTA will rise again.

I agree with the majority of people here
Now as BTC is going to split , a lot of alts are going down

maybe because many people think it will not work once it's training wheels are removed and someone attacks it with intent ...

maybe because it is the handful of people who took all the coins  who are taking their 2000x profits at your expense.

or could just be going down in value like 99% of alts right now.

who can say.

"why .... is falling" always has one answer. and that is because they are getting dumped. the reason for the dump is always different though but the dump is a part of altcoins and will always happen without any exceptions.

this time the dump is mostly because of bitcoin price rising and the fact that everyone is selling their altcons to get more bitcoin or cancelling their buy orders to keep the bitcoin.
and also it is partly because IOTA was pumped and it was in a bubble.

iota is falling because early investors made 50 000% of benefits since 2015!

so even if they sell at 0.01$ they still making profit!

Everything has been falling apart lately. THis has been witnessed in old days also, when ever the there is rise in value of bitcoin altcoins take a plunge. Only time this did not happen was the last alt pump, it was because new money had poured into crypto and they bought both bitcoins and alts.

It is not only IOTA that has been dropping, almost all of the other alt coins are losing value as well. IOTA has a promising future.

I think this is generally affecting all altcoin not only IOTA even ETH was above $300 some days ago but now its below $300 and the same thing apply to the other coin too. i dont know what exactly caused this but i read it in the forum that current price fluntuation of altcoin is due to bitcoin fork which will happen in few days time. I still think the altcoin will still fall further until after the fork when the cryptocurrency market become stable again.

It is not only Iota. Most of altcoins are falling because of BTC fork. It seems that most of people are selling their altcoins in order to buy BTC. On the other hand BTC is raising. I think that after the fork, market will stabilise and altcoins will raise again. For that reason, I will just hold my altcoins, and probably buy some more now when they arw cheap.

Its price has been significantly pumped up since its ICO release, if i'm not mistaken it's actually in the hundreds of times in terms of return for initial ICO investors. Some are just taking their profit now. with such a huge supply i can see the price going down a bit more before settling.

Their software is still somewhat new, and exchanges aren't all that fond of implementing such a new concept altogether. Once they do, expect price to go back up and IOTA making it back to the top 10.

Currently every altcoin is falling due to Bitcoin hard fork coming on 25th of October. So I wouldn't say it's problem in IOTA, rather it's problem in whole altcoin section. Also as far as I know IOTA is on track like it used to be, and also people behind the project are definetly very active. For long term, IOTA is a great investment that's for sure.

Iota is falling because it was a bad protocol , faulty chain and is not useful product. I think iota was rushed to the market without any testing of it's chain. There may be development in the future, but for now there is no value for it

And this is based on what? The mods on r/cryptocurrency that made a bot reply to every iota thread with bullshit so as to create fud? Give us proof. Give us big names that have analyzed IOTA and have concluded that it's a "bad protocol". If not, shush it.

//just for the record, I don't hold any IOTA. I just hate teenagers causing coins to be dumped just so they could buy the dips.

Now a days every altcoin is falling due to Bitcoin hard fork coming on 25th of October. After BTC hard fork btc started trending downward for the next day we should see iota and other coins get some of that market share back.People sell alt coins in order to join BTC for its hard fork coming on 25th October. As soon as BTC price settles or go down a little then alts grow in price. So not to worry for IOTA falling its hold for now and for next 6-8 month point of view IOTA is a great investment that's for sure.
