firstly when I saw it,I was astonished... At the same time I am happy for that...I think in some month it will cross 10000$  :-* :-*

Well, at first projection after august fork bitcoin will reach 5000 USD and bitcoin reach it, next projection where bitcoin gold announce it fork this october 25, bitcoin will surge to 6000 USD, and many speculation to this up coming fork and segwit2x this coming November bitcoin will reach about 10,000 USD by the end of this year, so expect many FUD coming from different banks CEO and prominent people in the Financial community to decrease the value of bitcoin. (but well I think it is good for us bitcoiner. because when the price goes up and up, this will cause us a bubble)

Just as what I expected for bitcoin to reach $6,000 to $7,000 before this coming fork happens. I will be more happy if it can break $7,000 although it is only 4 more days. I expect a correction after this fork as many investors and traders will head back to their favorite altcoins.

$7000 or close would be ideal followed by a correction to $5000 + and then the push for $10K . I dont think the bitcoin gold fork has had much effect and people are stocking up for the 2X fork. Personally i would like the value of bitcoin gold to crash to zero or close (which i think it will) . This will take some of the glow off the 2x fork

we have many times to see bitcoin record a new level and no matter we have get fork, the price will be increase and i am not too worried with this. i only waiting the next higher level so i can cash out my bitcoin to get money and if i can, then i want to buy another bitcoin again to add more in my wallet. but i am amaze that to reach $1000 from $5000 to $6000 we only need 8 days and the price is still climbing and reach new higher price.

Amazing! That makes it more exciting. However I guess for those who first time to buy or some who would like to add bitcoin may find it expensive due to the high rate. Its more advantagious for those who had already lot of bitcoins for months or years already. Overall I guess its a good status for bitcoin to reach that level.

I have the day off so I am going to spend a bit of time today on charts and review articles and also reflect back on the Bitcoin Cash hard fork. I think we're look at least $9,500 by the end of the year.

Amazing climb in bitcoin price, i didnt expect it was coming that early as october. Maybe bitcoin price still has a chance to climb up to 7k $ or 8 $ before the year ends. All investor and bitcoin hodlers are so happy right now with the run of bitcoin price. Bitcoin fork is coming maybe there still a time left for another record !

Agree mate it reaches and even surpassed the expectations of the society im agreeing to the value that you predicted i think it will go that far because it even recovers quickly on the issue about China ban and it surpasses it for now. For months only it grows quickly 'i think it will be possible over you think and i think of $9000 by the end of the year so basically earn for now and have a due for next year and see what you have after that i think its not bad trade its a win win

It is because more altcoin holders sell their coins to BTC. BTC hardfork on 25 will reward the same BTC gold when there is balance in the bitcoin wallet or exchangers that support split. Hitbtc has launced IOU B2X ( non real coin). In the ann said that hitbc will reward the bitcoin holder the same value of b2x as bitcoin in the wallet. That's why most altcoin 's price dropped yesterday and today.

In my opinion, there will be a reduction in bitcoin prices after hardfork later. and then it will rise again and end at $ 8000 later this year.

No doubt about it but mark my words, there is a correction coming in next couple of months and that will bring down the price of Bitcoin. I believe that Bitcoin will perform well in the long run, However, I am not impressed with the current sudden hike surpassing $6K. I am expecting the organic growth of $5K to $6K in the third quarter of the next year, till then price will keep fluctuating and we might see some all-time high records.

We all should be happy when we see bitcoin prices continue to increase in recent days. All investments that we have of course will also automatically increase. I have some investment and save some bitcoin in exchanges. If you look at the conditions then this is also an opportunity to sell the bitcoin we have because I am sure that I have gained with a large margin. But I will share some of it, I will try holding some bitcoin while hoping that bitcoin price will increase and praying that bitcoin price will reach new record at 7000USD rates.

I'm just happy to watch this trend of bitcoin growth and see how my money increases. If someone else doubts whether it is worth investing in bitcoin, buy it before it's too late!

It's like a boon to me, but this high price makes me feel worried about the future of bitcoin, it's like a very unreasonable price, I can not imagine if bitcoin prices reach $10k maybe there will be many countries or governments responding or going against bitcoin . But for now I will enjoy it and take advantage of this moment well.

Bitcoin crossing 6000 dollars recently made people believe that Bitcoin can reach 9000 to 10000 dollars till the end of the year 2017. It actually can not be said that will prices go up more or would they come down.

Its so much regret for the bitcoin reaches a record level surpassing $ 6000. This is to certify that bitcoin increasingly faster as the days past. They are eventually getting closser into $ 7000 so we are hoping that this would continue reaches at the end of december. That would be the great gift for all of as her.

Im all for this free money like most other people on the forum, but it occurs to me every morning that I wake up and check the price that this growth will have to stop at some point. Dutch tulips people; an industry doesnt have to be bad in order for hyper speculation to bring it to its knees ;) we have finally seen 6k, and despite my joy I really have to ask "why?". We are about to fork, and there had been no significant updates to the protocol. Are we being pumped? Remember, the caps on this market are not very big at all.

What goes up, must eventually come down. Cant argue with that ;)

Bitcoin is so amazing, I just remember when I was first time to use bitcoin it was last January, 2017 I think its value is around $750 - $1000 and look now after 9 months it raised to $6000. It would be at $9000 - $10000 before the year ends.

The question is: What will happen after the FORK this October 25, 2017 would it be down or will go to the moon as expected by bitcoiners?

Probably go down for a while, since people will move back into altcoins. Then move back into Bitcoin during the November Segwit fork. Who knows if we'll actually hit 10k this winter though.

It's very surprising news to see bitcoin prices continue to rise after much of the negative news about this virtual money. We can be a little relieved that bitcoin can still survive for now.

Most people understand that the news are full of shit. Plus, even if they weren't, people are so greedy that they would jump in anyways because of the extremely high gains.

People are getting more confidant about bitcoin, but that's not all of course. I think the principal reason that is driving the rise in the price are the upcoming forks. There are some exchanges listing segwit2x close to $1k, just like it happened with bcash, and I don't think bgold will be worth that much but it's still free money, so people will try to grab it of course. I just hope that once the forks happen, and people collect their alts, will just trade them to BTC.

I'm still surprised there's such a demand for Bitcoin just because of the Gold fork coming up, it doesn't seem like there is the same excitement as there was during the Segwit fork yet the market seems to be shooting up because people want to extract whatever dividends they can, if I understand a lot of the thought processes right.

The only logical answer for the rise is because of the fork, though. There can't really be any other easily explainable reasons for the market rapidly increasing in the manner it has, especially with all the FUD that has been passed around recently.

It's not just the fork, but it's definitely a very big factor. Either way, Bitcoin is slowly reaching the mainstream so the price increase is going to be accelerating over the next years.

your times are a bit off the mark and also you should not use the price ranges like this. it is completely meaningless to do something like this. you should instead consider the rise size in percentages. for example from 1000 to 2000 is 100% rise but from 5000 to 6000 is a 20% rise.

in order to understand this better consider this comparison:
rise from $10 to $20
versus
rise from $5010 to $5020

Probably, yes. Most of the Bitcoin money came out of altcoins, so we will probably see some altcoins pumping after the fork completes and people finish dumping their Bitcoin Gold.

After that it's anyone's guess what will happen next, but I assume that Bitcoin will keep rising since cryptos are slowly making their way into the mainstream.

This is definitely good to hear. It is just overwhelming since Bitcoin have gone through difficulties on the previous month but still, it was able to overcome all of it and even come back stronger. It is now priced at 6009$ and is still increasing. It is also expected to have a market value of 7000$ or more before this year end.

After the fork it might decrease, but knowing that btc were able to reach this amount now, it will surely recover soon so when it dumps,grab that opportunity . It will goes more than $7k after fork dumps .

I am so much happy when i see the chart that time. Never expect that anymore, i thought that may happen next year but i was wrong for that expectation. I hope to see the same scenario after the hard fork or may be more but i expect a lower price of BTC after the hard fork.

Bitcoin price can grow up above 10,000 dollars. Its price grow very fast it is sick and i wait for more.

I'm not sure that the price will rise. New coins which were added in August and in October you do not have much support among users and so price of bitcoin did not feel the pressure to the downside. In November we will see a new btc1 coin and this coin can have quite the opposite effect. If it gets the recognition it may become more attractive for use in trade and this may weaken the position of btc.

I have a strong feeling people will start selling some BTC, when they have received their FREE Bitcoin Gold from this fork. The

price will go down and then people will sell their Bitcoin Gold to buy some more BTC and the price will go back up to $6000 or

even $7000, if Bitcoin Gold trades goes well after the fork. We will see $7000 in November and December of this year.  8)

Why would it matter to Bitcoin how Bitcoin Gold trades? They're different coins and I'm pretty sure that Gold will just get dumped into the ground, with BTC not really caring about it.

For bitcoin, there is no way down but always going up.  Bitcoin showed everyone how and what it can do.  Its price goes down but it is still close to $6000 mark.  We are hoping that its price will still goes up before this year ends.  And even higher for the years to come.

I think he is right. That is a good strategy. After receiving the Bitcoin Gold from fork holders start dumping Bitcoin price, then they sell their Bitcoin Gold, wait Bitcoin price dump to cheaper price as possible, then start buying again with the profit made by selling Bitcoin Gold + profit made by selling Bitcoin.
They are different currencies, but the profit of Bitcoin Gold can be converted again to the original Bitcoin, however I don't know if Bitcoin has power to reach $7000 this year yet.

Bitcoin Gold should be dumped before anyone else has the chance to. Holding Bitcoin Gold for any longer than absolutely necessary is not a good idea, since it's junk.

1) Sell Bitcoin Gold and dump it next (take profit in BTCs);
2) Sell Bitcoins (for dollars and hold it);
3) Wait Bitcoin be dumped;
4) Buy Bitcoin again and hold.

Not saying it's the best to do, but a possible strategy to execute.

I wouldn't cash Bitcoin out, because that triggers taxes. You would have to be able to get a dip that is significantly larger than the taxes that you would have to pay, otherwise you will be losing money.

If most of us will do it then it will surely fall.
That way we could buy again at a lower price then bitcoin will be pumped again. The question is when you will do it.
Patience and right execution will be the key to perfect this kind of strategy which is not easy.

Don't know if there are taxes if we keep the dollars on the exchange resting for a while.

When to do this it's hard to say, on these situations I try to follow the chart, when the price start dropping I execute the plan, but sometimes it fails because the drop on that moment is just a false alarm. Hard to achieve the perfection...

You definitely have to pay taxes if you keep dollar on the exchange. Taxes are due the moment you sell Bitcoin for dollar, or even altcoin for Bitcoin (but that's untrackable). If you keep dollars in a KYC complying exchange though, you will probably get a large bill and possibly legal trouble due to tax evasion.

It is always mind-boggling when BTC strides hard and hit ATH time after time. People, included myself, can't believe that we have this price right now for a piece of it. Reminiscing those times where it is in $500 range and no one in my friends believe that it has potential or any value feels really good and very nostalgic. With the way that we have right now, $8k is very possible before 2018 ends. Consolidation will always be present but it will push upward harder in the future.

I'm sure this will keep repeating itself until the entire mainstream caught on. People always think it's "too late" to join the party, and then they get shocked when they find out that it wasn't too late.

Bitcoin is sucking the money out of altcoins due to regular hard forks that gives people free money from the new forked coin e.g. Bitcoin Gold (BTG). Bitcoin value will continue to grow regardless of that people say or what China or Russia does. Investors put their money into bitcoin whenever they hear any news regarding a chain-split of the original bitcoin because they know they can make a lot of money off the bitcoin due to the hard fork that may lead to creating another altcoin - which they may get it for free after the successful chain-split.

I was quite sure that we will hit $6,000 before the end of October. The price has increased probably because of upcoming hard forks. Bitcoin Gold is going to be available in just few hours. It will be interesting to see how much it will be worth and what exchanges will accept it.

At first people were very sensitive when there was fork of bitcoin cash but after that seems people are more optimistic and bitcoin gold doesn't cause any panic.
We reached 6000$, new record but don't be so optimistic guys and look into past too, bitcoin sometimes acts like aftershock, when you think everything is ok, it falls then.
By the way last summer was a so great chanse to buy bitcoins, price rised from 600$ to 6000$, 10x rise or profit is amazing for holders.

It is impressive the bullish race that we are witnessing in the price of bitcoin. I do not think even the most optimistic bitcoiners would have expected such an impressive rise this year, despite the great correction experienced in September following China's conflict against ICOs. It is obvious that no bullish trend can last forever, but this seems to have enough momentum to bring the price of bitcoin to levels of $ 10,000 in a few months.

This was so cool! At the first place, I can't believe it because last time I checked it was 295,000+ pesos then my classmate said that it grows bigger and it is more than 300,000 pesos now. I'm shocked at that time because of fast growing rate of bitcoins and take note, only in a short period of time only. Bitcoin never fail to amaze us! :)

having seen the rise in the price of bitcoin it is not news anymore that bitcoin has risen to $6000 and even crossed and is eyeing the next thousand. it just a matter of time it will get there.

I think 6 thousand dollars are just the beginning, I think that in this year bitcoin can reach the goal of 8 thousand dollars, if everything will be successful as right now. But in general in next year I expect growth at least 10 thousand dollars.

I think there's nothing to worry about being optimistic what matters most is how we deal with bitcoin and the vice versa. That was such a nice experienced of yours if you happened to get that profit last summer. I hope this time since it's $6,000 I think this will come across to have a very good profit as well. The speculation for Bitcoin to reach 10K by first quarter of 2018 would not be happen anymore. Because it will be happen before the end of this year. Who not be surprised when Bitcoin surpassed 4K and 5K  just this month of October.

It is really difficult to predict at what time the price would reach those valuation,i expect a good correction after the fork,the price just raised too much in the past few months that i am not able to grab a good number of coins to gamble when is really not that cool as i really started using bitcoin to gamble and with the price rising ,it is really difficult to spend so much for gambling.

Just means the altcoin market will rise quicker when the Bitcoin forks are over. Hopefully the Bitcoin transaction fees will be drastically lower and transactions much faster after the fork as well. Then I could start ordering pizza with Bitcoin again.

it's not the question of confidence. I'm afraid it is more on the psychology side. I bet when it's supporters level will go over 80% of the active MARKET partisipants (we don't count Dimons and the likes - who say BTC is a fraud) - when themselves they just sit on a fence and never participate really. And when it's more than 80% of bullish sentiment - it'd go down.  From the Moon and underground.

Yes I am happy, even had time to reach $ 6300 although now down again to the level of $ 5700 but I'm sure the price will soon rise again. if we get the price $ 5700 then I think this is a good price if we buy.

You may be right with this prediction, but technical analysis was calling for a correction around on the 24th according to the daily chart anyway, which coincidentally happens to be on the Bitcoin Gold fork day... so in theory we should be going much lower from now on, maybe a long wick like we saw on the 18th, then a blazing flast recovery for another all time high.

I don't see why people even bother with Bitcoin Gold, it's not going to be worth much, just wait for segwit2x and then dump both.

how can bitcoin gold is a junk ,if its so good for gpu minners i can see it started trading about 600usd last night and right now

This is not shocking at all  because the rate at which bitcoin is trending this has to happen.  And I believe that there will be more and more increase in prices of bitcoins. Bitcoins is trending in society, everyone wants to own bitcoin and investors are investing in bitcoins.  I think $6000dollars is start,  bitcoin will have a long journey.  Bitcoins has broke all records set regarding its prices. Well its not surprising. Over the past couple of days, bitcoin's value increases tremendously. Probably because a lot more people are now engage in the world of cryptocurrency. Its not a surprise for me because i knew that bitcoin has a high potential i did not know that it was today actually but i knew inside me that it would rise very high.

I still think that 50k dollars is possible if bitcoin gets a lot of support. Thats why I am starting to save my coins to sell them in the future.

Bitcoin might even reach 10k in about a year. Because bitcoin is doing really well these days. But ofcourse there is a probability that the bitcoin will go down in value again. But the best thing to do is just believe in bitcoin.

But it looks like that we spoke too soon again. Bitcoin has reached its peaked already, and now the price is going down after the fork. Although I personally thought that it can go higher still, but tough for investors not to sell bitcoin because of the price. Again, its currently down to $5600, but I'm still very positive that we can regain it soon. October is coming to an end, and the Bitcoin Gold rush is over, we can now set our minds on the next, Segwit2x in November. Maybe we can get over $6000 once more and then go to $7000. But for now, eventhough the price is below $6000, it is very very good to end this month.

Bitcoin reaching 6k$ is logical since all traders exchanged their coins to get Bitcoin Gold after bitcoin fork scheduled for Octobre 25. They don't want to miss this opportunity, you remember what happened when they distributed bitcoin cash according to the amount of BTC you have. I think it is a smart move to prevent BTC value from  dropping down as happened before previous hard forks.
But no one knows what will happen after, if the price will keep rising or it will know a huge dump.

That would mean a nearly 2 Trillion USD market capitalization, which seems a bit much for 3 years and would require serious upgrades to the transaction speed and fees of Bitcoin as well as mass adoption.

yes I agree, this time people are busy to buy bitcoin because it will be rewarded BTG (bitcoin gold) according to their bitcoin balance. However, after handfork later it seems there will be a slight reduction in bitcoin prices (my prediction), and to anticipate this, I have set up funds to buy bitcoins at low prices. ;)

After few days of price decrease once again the price has started to move forward crossing $5750. So once again soon the price will surpass $6000. Maybe this time the new record level gets reached, as the fork haven't made a big impact on the price moves of bitcoin downwards or upwards.

This is really a good result of the fork, more and more people are getting into bitcoin. once more businesses accepts it as a mode of payment then price increase will be unstoppable.

In my opinion, the highest achievement in bitcoin this year is yesterday before the second hardfork that produced the second split of Bitcoin is BTG, but now has started to lower prices on Bitcoin, probably many predict the price will rise again at the end of the sale. i am watching the price too in poloniex and bittrex and i see there are any different price in that two exchanges but i don't make arbitrage to earn profit because i am too afraid with the time of sending and receiving the bitcoin. i have bad experience when doing arbitrage in bitcoin and i can not make profit so i won't do the same mistake again. i think the price is trying to gets up again after down in two days ago and now the price is at $58xx and if my prediction is right, i think the price come back into $6000 in next month.

In my opinion, we may see another breach today at $6,000 to $6,500 level, possibly because of another fork in November; It is good that most investors have tested the support level at $5,500 in the past 48 hours. Most investors now are calmer than before and the market has been washed off the weak hands who panic sell the moment they see bloodbath in the market. I have heard that Bitcoin is going to get forked and there's a new thing called Bitcoin gold gonna launch, if you have few Bitcoins you might get free Bitcoin gold but I am not sure about it.

I think in next few months you will have to create a new topic with the different peak of Bitcoin maybe about 10k$ :))) the reason why I think so because maybe after the hard fork Bitcoin price will increase to more than 10k$, 2 times from now, like it was after the hard fork on 1st August when its price just about more than 2k$ but it rised to more than 4k$ right after the hard fork :)) Just need to wait a little longer I think we can see Bitcoin reach to that peak :D

Yeah bitcoin has reached at 6k and this is the big achievement and its hatters were saying that it will go down because of china but here it is and now it is progressing more because new regions have joined recently and because of this factor there will be a lot more progress in the prices and maybe at the end of 2k17 prices will be at 9k and that time will be best time to earn profit, so hold for one more month.

Its a big achievement for bitcoin to reach the $6,000 mark. This is a proof that even china banned bitcoin in their country, bitcoin doesn't care. The value of Bitcoin has been programmed to increase more. I did get a market stipulation that it will be hitting 10,000$ like next year. You can see the Bitcoin price now, it has reached a new level, $6255. There is no doubt about the development of Bitcoin. Hodling them never make you sad!  :D

Its really good to see that bitcoin is on another massive bull run in the last 48 hours or so. And yes, there is no doubt that hodling long term will never make you sad, although there will come a time that you will feel nervous, but never doubt bitcoin's ability to recover. Now as the price is above $6100, you will feel great not panicking and dumping your coins.  You will see thread saying negative things about bitcoin, but just have faith and hodl and wait for another run in the process. Maybe tomorrow we can hit another ATH and reach $7000 before or after Segwit2x activation.

Bitcoin has reached a new peak at $6400 in its birthday and there is no sign of stopping growth. There is no doubt that it can break many new records in the future. But acctually, Bitcoin is too high now for small investors.

The price gas crossed the newly expected price barrier which is the $6500. Now the value has surpassed the same and moving forward to reach the next expected price of $7000. This is not that high for small investors, because one can invest based on their affordability and no compulsion that you need to buy a single bitcoin as a whole.

May be bitcoin acquire $7k in the mid of November but I don’t think that $6,000 is the record point. I just consider it the begging for bitcoin journey. It think It will grow up so more at the end of this year i.e. 2017 and hopefully at the end of quarter 2018 it will touch the figure $10k.

History getting rewritten quite often with bitcoin. This is happening all because of the growth that takes place with digital currency with time. The time gap to reach $6000 and from that to $7000 is very small compared to the time taken to reach $6000 from $5000. Hope the same growth will continue taking it to reach greater heights before the year end.

I think much of the current delay to push upward that much is because there is this Nov doubt. there is really nothing to worry about, but there is always that fear there when so many people express their fears and when others purposely push in one direction or another. Either way, there is a great deal of talk, rumors and speculation, and a play it safe trader will choose that time to burrow down a bit and see what happens.

It is not quite surprising to know that bitcoin could reach another record breaker on its price and value, we all know that bitcoin has so much future in terms of transaction and investment so it is normal for bitcoin to flow as its had a good improvement on its value. Bitcoin is at 7300-7400usd the last i checked today.. i really regret not adding more to my portfolio a week ago. I keep thinking that it will have a big dip, so the fear has stopped me from add more bitcoins to my portfolio . Now 7800 dollars, and it's amazing! Bitcoin constantly beats his own record, and of course we know that this is not the limit. When I bought my first bitcoin, it cost 2000 dollars, and I was surprised at every record, and I still do not cease to be amazed, and probably I will not stop, it's impossible to get used to it.

It is kind of crazy of how fast Bitcoin has raised for the past year. I remember when i cash out bitcoin last year dec, it was around $1k only. Lol. I am happy for those who kept bitcoin till now.

Bitcoin is now almost all time high. 8K is a very high price but we should be tempted to sale the bitcoins. If you can still hold, you will be in more benefit as we are now moving towards 10K dollars per bitcoin near the end of December. If we all hold and no one sells, we can even reach much more than 10K, but if you see there are a lot of sell orders at 10K on exchanges, so once it reach that mark, it will be bounced back.

bitcoin price now at $82xx and its break the wall although the price is up and down too often in this day, but the trend is trying to go up and I hope we can break $8500 soon. I see there is a nice different for the buy and sell price so we can expecting to make profit even for small profit. but if we want to make bigger profit then I think we need to hold until the price is reach $10k in this year or next year. and if we can make profit at least 1% from our buy and sell at least 5 times a day, then we can record big profit.

Yes it is true and as a matter of fact this week the bitcoins reached $8000 how good was that. And who told that bitcoins are dead, how they can be dead if they can still pump just like that. And for those who thought that bitcoins are going to fall and now sell all their holdings look at us now gaining alot because of the pump you did not believe us at the first place so that is your fault not ours we are telling you that have a little bit of patience and hold your bitcoins because it will pump but you never listen to us.
