Take a look at the build process to see how we have minified the file size.

You don't unless you want to install a virus.

No virus

Really. Is that why you've also started a Batcoin thread too in which you state that you don't even know how to build a binary?  ::)

how to build binary

Amazing. And in just 1 hour too.

Maybe you could learn to post the source code without an executable in sight within the same timeframe. you're obviously a quick learner.

This is AutoIT malware. Do not download. Source script is encrypted. Running this will probably dump your bitcoin wallets or install a keylogger.

How much think you have to be to run an exe from such a source?

He claims to be open source but it isn't, then pretends nothing happened. He says he just learned how to create an executable. He choose for his "currency" a name which was already taken. Obviously when asked what's new about his "coin" he didn't answer (because there's nothing new). edit: isn't even able to static link his exe.

Almost every alt-currency is crap, and honestly this is BY FAR the crappiest I've found.

I understand the OP might be either delusional of fraudulent, but how on Earth is anyone playing with his potentially dangerous toy? Don't you stop to think, sometimes?

Title: Re: FireCoin - Scrypt - Just Launched!

The source file is not an .ZIP, it is a self-extracting RAR file that installs a rootkit that hides the actual files contained in the self-extracting RAR file.

You don't definitely want to run this thing.

Virustotal doesn't detect this as any known virus yet.

The source file executable install itself under C:\Users\<username>\GUCUE directory. This directory looks empty if the malware process is running and hiding the files. However, the contents listed earlier are still in that directory.

The source file executable install itself under C:\Users\<username>\GUCUE directory. This directory looks empty if the malware process is running and hiding the files. However, the contents listed earlier are still in that directory.

Actually the files are only marked as system / hidden, not hidden with any rootkit. It also installs a file C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\notepad.exe , which tries to run a .Net framework installer that is trying to install something to the system.

The file owner needs to be changed before that file can be deleted.
