If you are talking about cloud mining there are multiple legit CM sites but even if the site is legit and does pay, it doesn't mean its profitable there are better ways to invest you're money you just need to do a bit of research for better options.

In my opinion cloud mining websites are all hidden HYIPs. So no one is legit and everyone of them ends up to scam investors, sooner or later.

If you actually spend few minutes you will see that you can find at least 10 topics about cloud mining in this forum section so instead of creating new topics for already answered questions read forum.
But I think you already know that, right?

If you want to do serious mining for profit, simply buy some ASICS or some graphics processing units. All those "cloud mining" sites are crap. Pretty much 95% are scams/HYIPs and the remaining legitimate 5% aren't even close to profitable(breakeven is probably the best case scenario).

It's hard to tell, because there is now actual way we can check whether your hashing power that you bought is really there. Even genesis mining doesn't disclose whether you really have hashing power, they only state they are giving you it but there is no actual proof of it. I subscribed to hashflare, it's one of the cloud mining that's most popular. I do hope it is legit.

eobot.com is interesting for beginners and their chat very helpful. It is very expensive  (except you use their faucet), but it has a greaat interface for beginners without need to invest. Just to learn basics about cryptos. Don't buy GHS 24h.

If you are referring about cloud mining sites then forget it they are all using ponzi schemes to attract more investors and run away when no one wants to invest anymore. Just think of it, for example you have a hardware for mining and you already earning money from it then why would you have to rent it to other people. Although some of them really pays you like Genesis-mining and Hashflare it's still not worth it because it will take years before you get your ROI. If you really want to invest just hold what ever coins you have and wait for the price to pump or build your own mining rig.

Although 99% of cloud mining sites out there are fake there are some sites which are legit and pay out to it's users.
Sites like genesis and hashflare claims to give it's users returns on their investments. Although I don't recommend you investing into cloud mining sites. They are not so profitable and that is why people don't invest in them anymore. You should try holding coins than invest in some cloud mining program.

Legit ? Just being registered somewhere or backed by registered company makes cloud mining legit  ??? I don't think so, if cloud mining will be not profitable with increasing difficulty and high maintenance fee or the service provider can change payment terms in middle than I don't think being registered somewhere gonna protect you from losing what you have invested in their fishy packages.

I will never say any cloud mining site as legit and will never invest any penny in them.

Indeed, over 90% of cloud mining sites out there are scam, but 99%? I don't know.
There are some legit cloud mining such as hashnet, viabtc, bitcoin pool, hashflare, genesis (https://www.coinstaker.com/bitcoin-cloud-mining) and the best cloud mining to invest right now is Icerock Mining. Don't miss ICO sale of Icerock mining as they offers profitable investment for investors and you can choose to be a miner for 2 years contract as well.

I know Bitmain operates Hashnest and they showed their operations already you can search for that in Youtube and Genesis-Mining also showed where their operation is located and showed a short video of the operations inside their warehouse like operations center, however that doesn't mean they are legit. Maybe they have those rigs in operation but the rewards that you get are actually the same money that you sent to them when you bought hash power and also others who bought hash power with them.

Most of minning sites are fake they never give you profite.but only some  of sites are legit.but  I suggests you to never invest in any cloud minning sites because they cheated you.and some sites are give you interest for 3-4  days but after some days they banned your account and took your all money.before some days  I invested in Auroramine and the site was close.so I lost my btc.so stay away from such Ponzi cloud minning sites.

Cloud mining or what the term in my opinion is not a big thing. When we start investing all the money we have then we will experience a loss, PONZI indeed is a benefit for some people but very harmful for most people. I have dedicated that Cloud mining / PONZI is the very thing to be avoided. Doing the best mining is to buy Hardware, but in fact we have to prepare enough money to buy the hardware. in conclusion I better wait to raise money to buy hardware than just to wait for the luck of the money we invest in Cloud Mining.

Hashflare and minergate and the only ones who are "legit" right now, but you all know that sooner or later they will become scam, no matter what. So dont spend your time and your money in there because you will lost both in a few months when they turn to scam.
Be more smart, there are many other ways to make much more money than waiting 365 days to recover your investment in cloud mining.

yes I agree with your saying, there is no legit mining site at all. Very low percentage is legit because almost all mining sites are made by scammers so they can easily earn in the wrong way. if you want to mining some bitcoin you need hardware for mining.

For now there is no legit mining site, much better if you have good capital you will build your own mining site for sure you will get good amount of profit on that. I recommend that you will invest in trading than cloud mining you will hold and control you coin.

BW.com, hashnest.com and bixin.com
These offer realtime hash exchange. Thats how you can make a profit ( buy low sell high) ... mining revenue is just bonus.

there are two types of mining site which is legit and ponzi you cant notice it.  Cuase it has the same website the design and also the same testimonials which is clarifying as a legit. So i suggest that stop searching everywhere in internet cause now adays there are some stupid people cloning some legit site.  .which is ponzi. If someone  recommend you to do some mining i suggest to make some research if the site is legit or it has good feedback to avoid lose.

There are some legit cloud mining obviously which run for years and always pay their customers, and they really have mining hardware, using crowfunding to expand their mining farm. But, most cloud mining are scam obviously, so I would recommend genesis mining or upcoming cloud mining IRM.

Cloud mining sites mostly end in a scam so don't waste your time and money in finding a good one to invest instead buy some good coins with that money and sell at high to make a profit.

Most of them are scams and I'm not advising any of my friend nor any member here to invest to those cloud mining websites. We do have only one thought on the cloud mining websites, they are all scams for us. There are remaining some operating that has real support and mining farm. But still it's better to stay to this type of investment, cloud mining contracts are absurd. If I were you, don't believe those contracts it's much better to hold your bitcoins out there.

There are so many cloud mining sites out there. But most of them are scam sites. They just want to steal money from us. There are a few sites that pay without any issues . But its very difficult to reach roi. So there is no profit in using these sites. If you are very interested in mining, I suggest you to try minergate software to mine monero using your pc. Later you can exchange that with BTC in any altcoin exchange site.

Instead of relying on cloudmining websites, you could also just rent a miner from someone.
I'm not saying if it would be profitable, but at least you can check the hashrate for yourself and get your payouts directly from the mining pool.

Here are a couple of options if you want to rent a mining rig from someone: https://www.miningrigrentals.com/ or https://www.nicehash.com/

Yes never choose Cloud mining as a job. Cloud mining is a system that will fool us. although currently there is cloud mining is proven to pay but the fee we get I think is not rational. we still have many opportunities to do other jobs that are far more profitable. we should try to find and see the opportunities that exist, I would prefer to buy expensive hardware devices minning than having to waste money by investing in cloud mining.

Can some one  direct me to a thread that explains  stuffs about mining?  I do not understand  what mining is.

Checkout this new thread and watch it for further discussion as its freshly posted. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2347505.0

Anyway, well talking about the cloud mining I have little beliefe that it works in the reality. There are two things one is virtual and other is real! The cloud miners could be virtual and real as well. What I mean by this is simple, there are some companies which are trying to fraud people by showing up that they are actually mining but they are not, they are virtual. On the other hand there are real one (genesis, hash flare, miner gate, nice hash etc) and they have the physical presence too. However the real fact is they are not pay you because they are not generating the effective hash rates or revenue in the reality to feed your profits. So be carefull while investing your money onto them.

There are but wonder if you can profit by using them:
Hashnest - Owned by bitmain which produces antminers so legit one.
Hashing24 - they have contract with BitFury, so legit one
Minergate's cloud mining - they have contract with hashing24 (hashing24 - Bitfury) and they are legit.
Freebitco - they have mining farms and offer deposit money and get some profit, you can withdraw anytime.
Don't know any other legit one, but personally I would avoid them.

If you have interest in mining don't go for just cloud mining that you can earn just a little and low profit and sometimes that are not legitimate sites you will encounter, keep that in mind. If you really know mining altcoins or bitcoin better have some budgets to buy sime rigs a $5k can start with even minimum from that you can have some equipment to mine cryptos. Make sure that the hash rate when you mine is high so that the profit you'll earn too will be synonymous or even higher than that. I'll recommend mining Monero (XMR).
