Title: [Mining]Try new NO FEE pool
Post by: Arktos on June 09, 2013, 06:22:20 PM
Hi everyone,

I've just set up a server-side pool node based on standart bitcoin+pushpool+SimpleBTC frontend scheme.
This pool running on one of my servers and have NO FEE AT ALL. No transaction fee. No pool fee.
For now I'm just testing the server on enough resources to handle the load.
It would be great, if together we could find at least 1 block solution. =)
I'd appreciate it if anyone would participate and join the server.
Pool use Last N Shares (1/2 Difficulty) round scoring.

If you interested then after registration arktos . tk/register.php use your miners with following settings:
Host:arktos . tk
Port: 8341
Username: <your user name>.<miner name (default is 1)>
Password: <your miner password (default is 'x')>
Address: arktos . tk:8341

Let me know how it goes!

P.S. Sorry for my English - it's not native. :)

This seems cool, I'll join in. I'm not using any sort of mining rig, but I can leave my computer up overnight and get a hashrate of 37 MH/s. Hopefully we can get some more people to join this pool, you're right, it would be cool to mine a block :D

Thx! =) Waiting for you report and issues! Of course, it's not too simple to get together more people, but anyway - we need to start with something!

I'm checked whole process through independent internet connection - registration, adding worker and connecting with my cgminer cgminer.exe -o http://arktos . tk:8341 -u user.1 -p pass works like a charm. I could see your request in logs, seems you trying to connect without worker name.. Please check it again.

Nice job! My miner's performance has gone up 20% since switching to your pool.

P.S. Pay Per Share or Proportional? Nevermind, it's PPLNS.

Thanks for this sweet opportunity!  Currently on vacation but will attempt to join in when I'm back at my mining machine. Can we get the specs of your server?

Nice! My average hashrate is 300 MH/s. (Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 @ 1025 MHz)
But I'll only join once you start paying people for mining in the pool. When do you think that will happen?

Without a fee, how are you going to handle the financial burden if more and more people start joining? The hosting costs will keep rising.

Yeah, it's takes some time and linux server knowledge to make all things goes.. Pool requires a lot of different software packages.

Of course it will happen then we mine at least 1 block, it require more computing power of all workers.

Actually this server using for other purpose too, so for now I have enough resources to keep it going without any fee. It's a test server. The goal is to mine a block.
