Title: When do you sell the altcoins gained from bounty programs
Post by: johnsm79 on October 22, 2017, 06:32:46 PM
We have seen coins prices crash extremely fast when the enter an exchange. I have seen in telegram, that people are shouting why would some people sell fast?

Is this happening from bounty hunters? Are you doing it? Have you sold tokens, once the entered exchange platforms?

I recommend you to join the following bounty cause this coin is going to be huge: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2370663

I sell the coins ASAP when it is possible. I usually simply don't believe that it would be better to hold the specific coin compared to holding BTC/ETH

Title: Re: When do you sell the altcoins gained from bounty programs

mostly i Hold because i don't participate in an airdrop unless i am convinced with the coin/token project or use cases !

and most of the time i buy more of the coin that i participate in its airdrop

So far I have held all tokens I have received. Will take a decision at end of year as to whether to swap.

I try to see the activity of the project. A serious company will only try to enter quality exchanges, will have an announcement positive to the project, in order to gain the trust of its investors.

If a project is robust I will hold, if it was proven to be rabage I would sell.

I would hold for a few weeks or months just to see how it goes. Selling too fast without assessing the situation is not wise, i think.

Looking good, if you can follow my structure above as to the short message, and give your details bellow, I believe it will be a good survey!

It totally depends on project and person, I will personally hold my bounty coins at least one year because most of them I participated so far are good projects except bowhead.

Post by: djaliel on October 22, 2017, 07:56:37 PM
yes, I will sell it after list of most popular exchangers, as usually the price will pump, after it price will go back down, and will rise again waiting for quite a long time

Title: Re: When do you sell the altcoins gained from bounty programs

i think the best idea is not to sell any bounty coin
just make this bounties and hold
1 coin can be a lucky one...
selling all of them for a low price is not that useful
unless its a shit coin :p

If you sell immediately any token entered market you will sell at a relatively good price than sell when the hunters has all come down to the market.Otherwise you have to wait for the Token to appreciate after bounties are exhausted to sell at good price.

Its depend on their project development, i'll hold growing coins. Sell other .

Post by: SM23031997 on October 22, 2017, 08:13:21 PM
I'm getting a good amount for some of the coins but I'm still going to hold them for a year. It will be much more profitable for me if even a single coin is able to exist after that time. Although I don't find any token convincing which I have, all the projects look fishy to me but still hope for best and their good development.

Normally wait a week or two to see how the price is going. Likw I joined the iNXT bounty and it 3x'd in a week so that was a nice payout  ;D

that really depends on your strategy. I got a lendger nano and all bounties go there for a hodl.

Title: Re: When do you sell the altcoins gained from bounty programs
Post by: mysacrifice on October 22, 2017, 08:50:25 PM
Most of the time I plan this even before I buy the altcoin. For example if I'm buying 1000 coins at level of 1$ per coin. I make plan of selling %10 when it is 5 USD, %20 when it is 10 USD etc.

I will sell my bounty result is when the price is higher on the market

That's the good plan. Yet I haven't got the opportunity to be into a bounty program and earn through it. Hope when I get the opportunity I'll explore much about the same and can gradually learn all about the do's and don't with the specific token. I believe it takes time for users to sell their earnings.

I sell half of it while the other half i keep it and i no longer give it attention. I just keep them for a year and will see what happens.

I participate only at projects which are interested for me. So mostly I HODL them until they will be pumped significantly. Sometimes when I'm not sure enough I dump reward at etherdelta ASAP.

I didn't get any tokens from any bounties so far all were scammed my time. Presently I am looking to get unify and sell them asap once they get good price.

Holding tokens can really make profit, if the developers are true, but I recmmend to sell them asap.

For me tokens from bounty are for long term use as long as possible (minimum term for me is 6 months).
Good luck to all

Title: Re: When do you sell the altcoins gained from bounty programs

You sell once the token is released because the price will still be fairly high but if you fail to sell then you have to wait after the bounty hunters are through dumping then the price will pick up again and then you can sell for fairly profits.

it depends on how the coin fluctuanting. if its fluctuating so bad i'll force sell it. if its good and have a good prospect, i would hold it. so its depends on how do you think the coin is. is it under value or the value is too much and not going to develop somehow.

I am new about that bounty programs but I think will sell %90 ASAP %10 HODL. Maybe one day I gain more than %90 with HODL.

Title: Re: When do you sell the altcoins gained from bounty programs

I think the best time to sell the altcoins gained from bounties is when the coin has a positive news and for sure that coin will pump up and that will be the best time to sell your altcoins, although there are some who would want to keep a couple of coins and the rest would sell them right away.

Title: Re: When do you sell the altcoins gained from bounty programs

I sell the altcoins that i got from bounty programs to the exchanges where it is listed or if i will choose to get the profit or income that i earn in bounty program. I just sell it to the another person in this forum where i posted a topic or thread and sell it with a lower price than the ICO price so i can sell it as fast as i can and get the income in almost instant after the deal.

This topic is very useful. All of us need to stay calm when the price is falling down. Some projects worth keeping their tokens for long, while others are better to sell as quick as possible. Of course, it's up to you whether to sell or not, but some tokens seem to be unsuccessful firstly, gain popularity and those who still have them make a huge profit.

If u check the prices of ico coins release the past month or so on coinmarketcap.com u will realise a constant trend which is about 90% of these coins where selling lower than the ico price at one point. My plan with bounty coins is to sell when the price is about a particular % above the ico price and wait to buy back if and when it falls below the ico price

it really can be a side effect of bounty programs. I mean no one care about the coin that was given to him free and now has a value. so they dump it without hesitation

there no right and wrong here.
Coins with potential would be best to keep for long term. Others you may just sell them.

That's right, and that is pretty easy. I myself would do the same thing if I got money from ICO. In short way it might be like this: I'll keep those currencies until prices go up a few percent until I make a profit. But if it is in urgent condition, maybe I will sell it immediately. If I have a lot of money from different currencies, maybe I will sell everything and focus on one. It's so much easier and more simple to set up.

it depends on what coin you gain. if you joined bounty campaign of a coin , at least you can guess the project will be good or bad.if you think it will be a good coin why dont you hold ?

I participate in many airdrops and I sell the tokens only on pumps. That is I set the price high and wait for the pump. As for the bounty programs I only participate in bounty for the project I am going to buy the tokens myself. In addition, for those I buy I wait for a good price to sell (in other words pump).

Soon after the coins getting listed to the exchanges can get an overview about the possibility for price pumping. Based on the same used to hold or else sell instantly. Till date very few of the assets looked to be highly potential among lots of ico that get into the trading list regularly.

Here is my answer to your interesting question.
In my side if that coin has potential and it will surely worth in holding for a long time then I HODL.
But if that coin is simply created by devs just for their benefits then I will not hesitate to dump it even in the lowest price.

I usually try to wait little bit to see the price on market near to ICO price at least before sell them.
But sometimes i don't sell and wait for the big profit if i believe an altcoin will have a good potential and future.

You could have just created a poll instead of hacing to state the result from everyone's post.
However, I always see bounty programs as an investment from my part and I take closer look on any bounty I want to join, so I pretty much hold for a very long time at the end until I am sure it is okay for me to hold and give someone else the chance to benefit from what I am holding.

That still depends though, cause there are just some coins that I will end up trading at a particular price, make some profit and still buy more cause I believe in them rising a lot if I hold longer.

It really depends as you have said. Most times since people are always looking forward to dumping their coins, I always try to maybe dump and see the best price I can purchase again once the whole dump is over. That way, I have made some profit and I am also buying back into the coin for future purpose. Everything balls down to how fast I can get in the market.

The very first point is as soon as i receive the bounty coins i just sell it because i know that it will surely get dumped and if the coin is worthy then i will buy back in low and hold for long term till my target get achieved.

Title: Re: When do you sell the altcoins gained from bounty programs

i HODL them and see what happens with them. I only do bounties for projects i support and see a future in so there is no point in me dumping the bounty because it would only devalue the product if everyone did that.

I would sell it as soon as the price pumps because no one can tell if it will pump again or i'll be dump forever. Altcoin will be altcoin but maybe if it is a solid project with a solid plan and a solid team, then maybe I would hold it for half year.

well, sometimes the altcoins you get from bounty doesn't even worth the gas to transfer them to the exchange wallet so I'd rather treat them like lottery ticket if one day it went up 10x then great otherwise just a souvenir coin

Is this happening from bounty hunters? Are you doing it? Have you sold tokens, once the entered exchange platforms?

I think I can explain to this problem. All projects are open bounty campaign, and there are plenty of bounty hunters who always sell everything they receive, which in turn causes the coin to be seriously depressed right after being sealed. However, if this coin is of interest, it will be quick, because the money that the bounty hunter possesses very little.

The most probable reason the price drops immediately when it hits exchanges is because of  bounty hunter cashing out. But that should not disappoint or discouraged you to  hold the tokens if it have real life usage. It can even be an opportunity to buy more tokens as an investment. If it have real value, it will rise back up even if dumpers or bounty hunters dump the coins immediately.

Well, the thing that i do most of the time is forget about the bounty i get(if i do not need the money) and hold  for a few months to years, depending on the way i see the platform of a bounty or its concept. On some rare occasions, i sell asap when i get a shitcoin. Although i did this only twice with an airdroped token and a bought share.

I like making gambles on ICOs but i sure do abandon gambles that i know are giving me 80% more risk than profit for my investment.

Having said all these, my decisions depends on the way i see a token's petential.

Rufsilf:              SELL

I try to store the coins for a month or two then sell it if the price is right.

Doesn't really matter. As the bounty distributed is no more than 2-3% of the total money generated during the ICO, even if the bounty people drop their tokens, it would only momentarily effect the price. Just like for a few hours or a couple of days max. For me, I trade my bounty tokens the same way I trade the coins that I would have bought.

But what people are doing here, is holding on, at least a majority of people. So it allows new people to enter a token and hold the price right.

I personally still have some coin from bounty campaign, because I think it will be very loss if sold now, the price is very far below the promised ico price, so I should be patient and wait

I suppose Bounty coins should be better kept at least for several months, not sold as soon as you get them. You should also check beforehand their market price.
Another way out is to keep ½ of them and the rest can be sold.

I prefer to hold all my bounty rewards as of now, unless there are some nstances that some of coins that I see too slow to move suddenly arise high, i surely take that opportunity. Well still depend if you prefer  trading more than holding.

Personally it is always depends on the project, if i judge that the project is good and has a bright future, i will hold the coin as long as possible, but if i think it is hard to increase the token value, i will sell it as soon as possible (usually after being distributed and listed on exchange).

unless the token/coin is promising in the future.  8)

lets give some coins a chance, if we think we can earn more from it then hold on to it, lets not just dump it right a way it will not be helpful for the project, but still depends on what coin and how much we gained, i have earn from holding a coin I think before will not increase too much and I'm wrong it risen now thats why I learned my lesson, so dont judge right away give it a time unless we really need some to spend, just an advise for some bounty hunters to earn more.

I have never gotten any one coin from a bounty program until now. I'm participating some bounty programs and bounty payments will be done next week.  if I already get the coin ,  I will sell it after the coin is listed in the exchanger. its one of my options  :)

I sell altcoins that i get in bounty which i think won't have a future or the developer do not post update regarding their post development. But most of the time i just hold my coins and see if it could reach x2 to x5 of it's ico price. No one can tell if that coin that you get will get a decent price. You just need to stay updated to the developments of the project and later you make your move if you will sell or not.

some coins or tokens given by some bounty some of it are you have to search where you can exchange them so better to wait and also wait for when the price is in the high that you can really have profit of it.

Most of the bounty hunter are selling their coins once it enters in the exchange. Its a reality because they are supporting the project for the money not for the benefit of the project. Only people who buy from ICO will surely hold the coin they get. Me? I hold my coin until im satisfied with the price, 5x or 10x from the ICO price

Imho blind bounty hunting does bad to the ecosystem. If somebody does tasks for a certain project that pays in that certain coin/token it means he believes that project will have some success.
At least that's what I do. And that's why when I do bounty hunting I wait at least 1-3 months before selling. For about half of the projects I still have the coins or part of them.

Title: Re: When do you sell the altcoins gained from bounty programs

I usually sell most of the coins received from bounties. I see most of them when entered exchanges pump up their prices and gradually drop to hell and take longer time to rise. Thats the main reason why i sell of them and participate in a different bounty. Very rare campaigners keep their coins if the projects are good and try to make most of it by taking good profits. But i have seen very few coins do that , majority is sell them off ann look for a new bounty.Thats my opinion.

It all depends on the project and the team. I watch how they work and what their chances of growing in price. If everything is good and the team goes according to plan and the price of them gradually grows, then I will hold on for a long time. If the project is not very popular and the news from it is small and the price just falls, then I will sell. These are my plans for the future when I buy altcoins that are cheaper after the ICO on the exchange

Selling your bounty is dicey. You may sell immediately and it will double after you must have sold. And you may hold and the bounty become worthless. The rule of thumb for me is to at least make some money from my bounty before deciding what to do  with the rest.

Judging by the fact that as soon as the coins are created on the exchange and almost all of them fall in price, the vast majority of people try to sell their tokens. I try to look at the project and if I think that the coin in such a project will be necessary and will develop, I try to hold it. Evaluation takes place during the year. There are such tokens from which you need to get rid of immediately. It all depends on the specific situation.

it depends on how the coin fluctuating. if its fluctuating so bad i'll force sell it. if its good and have a good prospect, i would hold it. so its depends on how do you think the coin is. is it under value or the value is too much and not going to develop somehow.

I also have some holding of my bounty rewards, I just sell some when I need money and if the market value of that coin price is high. It is good idea to hold bounty rewards for long terms goals.

As an observer to cryptocurrency, Ill say Ill just hold all the entire bounty tokens/coins I've got because you never know what's coming. Maybe 2 out of 10 of your coins give 1000% 1  or 2 years later. But there are tokens and coins that are obviously you had to sell just because you know it is shitty.

Depending on the ICO, usually each ICO has a different policy, sometimes there is a pumped coin price fitting early after the distribution, sometimes long after distribution

agree there was no need to rush to sell all the tokens immediately after putting it on the exchange ! you are just
losing so much in the end ! If the token coin luckily multiply it's value in 100 then you are losing your chance to become a millionare ! so the best answer is Hold it until you get the best price

50% hodl, 50% sell, but not cheaper than the price of ICO
never sell coins cheaper than they sold on ICO
sold coins are divided into 2 parts-1, I leave in btc or eth, and the second I withdraw to the fiat
