Post by: pinkflower on October 23, 2017, 06:42:16 AM The app looks good. But how would you rate it with blockchain.info's fee recommendations? Although I know from experience that it will be better than Electrum's recommended fees. It always favors the users to pay higher fees, making it inefficient at times.
Thanks for making the app. Good luck. Title: Re: New 'Bitcoin Fees' App to easily see how current fee settings are performing! Post by: buwaytress on October 23, 2017, 12:31:02 PM The app looks good. In fact, most services that start to implement a sort of dynamic fee system based on the network has yet to be able to keep up with network spikes. And at the same time doesn't update quickly enough when the bloat has gone. So you end up paying too little still when mempool fills up and then too much when mempool frees up. If there were a way for these websites or services to take this app's feed, or an API perhaps? My gripe with Localbitcoins, for example, is not so much withdrawals since they pay a decently dynamic fee but with deposits as they charge a fee on deposits and is very often too high for days after mempool clears. Collectively have lost close to a hundred dollars on deposit fees! Title: Re: New 'Bitcoin Fees' App to easily see how current fee settings are performing! Thanks for making the app. Good luck. Thanks for taking a look! Yeah most wallets recommended fees are WAY over-estimated. The Blockchain wallets fee algorithm is actually not too bad by the looks of it, although they don't give you much info to work with. The aim of our App is not so much to make a "recommendation" to you, but to easily and quickly provide a tool to make an informed decision yourself. They provide the wallet service, and the mining fees are outside of their scope of practice. Title: Re: New 'Bitcoin Fees' App to easily see how current fee settings are performing!
