Post by: rizabbasi on October 23, 2017, 06:41:49 AM
Hi,

I want to have your quick advise/opinion on these two cards:

- GALAX 1060 6GB OC
- Inno3D 1060 6GB Twin version

Also please let me know what brand of memory GALAX and Inno3D uses.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Regards,

Rizwan

Currently I'm running 3 rigs of Galax 1060 6GB OC. They're quite good on ETH (ethash) and ZEN (Equihash). Its' memory is Hynix as be shown in attached img.

For ETH: +300 mem, -100 core, 85% power limit, each card results to 21.3 Mh/s.

For ZEN: +130 mem, +150 core, 85% power limit, each card draws about 298 sol/s.

So, so far so good.

Hi thanks.

One question:

On GALAX GPU specs (http://www.galax.com/en/graphics-card/10-series/galax-geforce-gtx-1060-oc-6gb.html) its stated that the Minimum System Power Requirement (W) is 400W. I want to use same 6 cards on the rig.

Its also stated that the Maximum Graphics Card Power (W) is 120W.

I have Corsair HX1200i PSU. Based on above, it seems a 2400W PSU would be required (for 6 GPUs having 400W each) or its something I am really missing.

Regards,

Rizwan

400W requirement, that's for build-in computer with 1 Galax card. So basically, all other devices such as CPU+MB...could consume maximum at about 120W, 6 cards draw: 6*120 (100% usage) = 720W.
So 850W PSU could be enough to handle your rig. For me, I'm using 850W PSU to supply 6 cards GALAX as well, but I set power limit at 85% for safe and stable operation.

that  rating is a cover your ass rating by the company.

you have a 1200 watt psu.   and at 100%  the tdp for each card is 120 watts x 6 = 720 watts add 80 for other gear  you are at 800 watts.

since most of us set the tdp at 70% to 85%  your cards  will use around 505-615 watts.  the psu should work  assuming it has enough cables to make your connections

in case you need spare pcie cables
