If there is some altcoins use POW like Bitcoin, but they are not popular, they can be 51% attacked by the miner. They can create a lot of alts they want. But the Exchanges can know it and forbid the coin to the Exchanges.
Orther, they can hack your wallet account and sent all the coin out.
Bitcoin is the first Cryptocurrency. Almost coins are traded with Bitcoin than USD/USDT, so it is the most important coin in the tradecoin market. The price alway far from the nearest coin.

Everything can be hacked. 100% security does not exist.
But generally, you'll loose your money because of yourself and human errors (fishing, not securing your passwords... etc).

Bitcoin is far away of being the best coin... But it's the historical coin, the first main one based on blockchain, and the one which is known in the media.
Offer and demand makes it the one to invest from people that don't know too much about blockchain.
It's like everything in life, it's not because something is the most expensive thing that it's the best.

Yes they can be easily hacked if you have stored your wallets locally on your device. Store them safely on a online wallet its than harder for hackers actually to steal them.

They will need to hack the site in order to that. I suppose the site has a high security because the owner wants to make also a good amount of money out of it.

If you do not secure your wallet properly, your bitcoin wallet can be hacked and you will lose your coins. The same applies to altcoins, you must secure them properly otherwise you are at risk of losing them. I have no idea what alt coin concerns you, If possible use an offline wallet.

Absolutely it can be hacked that is why we need to protect our wallet by making it vulnerable from hackers like using 2FA applications and to provide a very strong passwords in put in the place which an 100% safe. Bitcoin is become more expensive because it will depend upon the popularity and the investors that pouring in not because of stable security application that has been used.

Everything online is hackable or eventually hackable. Cryptocurrency's security are almost the same but they have these subtle differences that what makes them what they are, bitcoin has the largest community has a lot more devs working than any other alts. When you based security through hashrates then bitcoin is on top. How secure? it's almost 100 billion secure for 8 years and still growing.
