For those of you heard about auroramine.com, you probably heard about their cloud mining service that gives you profit when investing on their service. Just found out that the website is offline right now. Anyone experience the same as mine?

Don't expect that they will be online again, they ran and will never comeback. Your coins and funds there are completely lost.
So if I were you forget those money of yours, if there someone whos to blame then its you. Cloud minings are fake and made to scam people.

I wouldn't say outright scams, but at the very least pyramid schemes. I've seen a lot of people that swear by genesis mining, only to find out that they live out of the referral bonuses. Maybe it's not that bad if you consider the fact that there's a pretty high chance that your investment is returned due to the potentially exponential growth bitcoin will benefit from, but then again, why wouldn't you just buy bitcoin? I think for a lot of people it's about getting into something new and exciting and being...unable to just sit back and wait.

The only cloud mining provider I trust is hashnest, and most others are just pyramid schemes that are barely alive. It’s infinitely better to have access to your miners through hosting or mining in your own facility/home rather than investing money into an unknown platform. People need to stay vigilant because these scams are common and will continue to be common.

I saw that the balance of the BTC address behind auroramine was diclining very fast in the last days. I think the scheme was not sustainable anymore.

Whoever was behind this scheme made at least one million USD in these two weeks.

Now this thread would really be just like a moaning and crying place for those people who do make investment on the site. How many time we do tell that don't really trust these kind of sites.Any cloud mining site would really be destined to become scam sooner or later as long they do accumulate enough money to ran on.Thinking off that the bitcoins price is already high as of now which this is the best time to scam newbies who are really greedy and believing that they can able to make easy money and get rich on these Ponzi schemes. This would really be a lesson for those people who lose up money.Dont expect for them to go back.

that's for sure because for those who invested their hard earned money without really seek for possibilities just believe with some proof that the site are paying now that every money was been kept by the owners what do we expect to see from here, everyone will complain and share their own opinion.

Lol, it is hard to feel sorry for any of you who lost money on this, I even replied in one of the announcement threads that it was a scam from day 1 as did many others. If you "invested" thinking 10% DAILY return was legit, then let this be a good lesson.

Don't expect that they will be online again, they ran and will never comeback. Your coins and funds there are completely lost.
So if I were you forget those money of yours, if there someone whos to blame then its you. Cloud minings are fake and made to scam people.

I am sure they will be back, just not as Auroramine. You are correct in that the money is gone, but with such a lucrative payoff I am sure they will try it again under another guise. Just everyone be aware of any such type of scams in the future. Like your mother used to tell you, "If it sounds too good to be true its because it is."

Lets those comments come into this thread for sure but it would be much better for this board to be on scam accusations or investor-based games for sure there would really be lots of people who would really make such comment that they lose up money on this cloud mining. For how many times we do tried up to tell that this is a scam but yet people do continue to put up money. This is the reason why do these cloud mining sites do keep to pop out because there are still people who do really love to waste up their money and donate to those website owners. They are the only ones who becoming rich.

it is just hard to understand...very hard...
why people today still believe in the claim of "10% daily return on investment"??????????

seriously... if I have any opportunity to have "10% daily return on investment" option, WTF I share such opportunity with you guys? hell no.....
i would rather borrow all the money from mother, father, in-laws, relatives, friends i could, and take any loans from any banks, and cash out of my credit cards balance...
and I can payback just a bit more than a week....

what a world...

Hahaha 10% daily profit. Who wouldnt know its a scam since the beginning. If anything was thag profitable, who or why would they need people to invest. No company ever need to let public investors in.
This project seem to be very profitable actually, 100% profit. Lol.
I hope people these days will learn and make sure you know what your investing into.

Cant believe someone here did .35 btc and others 200k satoshi.. etc... why invest so much money in something that has no proven legitimacy behind it?  Send me all your btc, ill give you back 10% daily interest, i swear :)

Yes anyone or company which gives 10 percent over returns per day is a scam and it was just matter of time before they shut down business as it was not viable. They just had a target to get in as many clients they could and then close down typical scam business. See how many bitcoin generators are online which try to show as if they are really genuine by showing for 5 minutes some pooling etc window and then ask you to send miners fees and if you pay it is gone. Nothing comes free in life that is end point

Balaji

Yeah.
The sad thing is that people get lured into these kinds of scammy schemes because of the nature of cryptos. They read and see everywhere that cryptos do massive daily moves and are the next gold rush.

A crypto-based scheme that allegedly pays you 10% a day does not look that outlandish to them. In the grand scheme of crypto.

I feel really sorry to all who invested in auroramine, you should not expect to get anything back, before you invest on any mining or lending site make your research , none of cryptocurrency programs can give you up to 5% or 10% profit per day, if you think people ask you for lending your money for that high fee's you are wrong , lending services on poloniex or bitfinex are as low as 0,1%.

Auroramine was an obvious scam ... I feel same for BCC but I hope I am wrong

People who joined at the start might have made some money but people who joined at the end would have lost everything.
Even after this experience... people will still look for quick money which actually doesn't exist!

It was a high yielded investment program or a ponzi scheme so it is expected that it won't gonna last. Lucky for those who already cash out all their balance with the ROIs before the problem occurs, including me. Thanks for the fork because of that I move all my btcs (including my balance in auroramine) in my yobit btc wallet to get free btg. The transaction was confirmed just in time.

Piece of advice buddy, there's no such thing as cloud based mining. The only legit mining site so far is Genesis Mining which provide details and actual screenshot of their mining farm and its actual location. AuroraMine is a HYIP or a high yield investment program. You will only earn based on the investments on new users who are investing the same. The PROS in joining such program is when you are an early bird investor which puts you on top like a pyramiding scheme. Once new members come and invest then thats the time you'll earn not thru what they so called "mining"

The common scenario for this kind of sites is that when the funds that they have is not sufficient enough to pay out all the members, that's the time they will exit and gone for good (along with the money that you and other members invest) just like bubble.

Its really funny for me. I remember there was a thread about this auroramine website in the service discussion section of this forum and I commented that its a hyip ponzy site and they will scam you after receiving enough deposits from the people. It happened exactly as what I commented. I don't know why you guys are investing in this type of hyip sites. First of all you should understand, its impossible for anyone to give you that much money for free. Atleast from now onwards if you see a site that promises high return, try to understand its a scam site.

The only way to make money on these contracts is by the coin price rising so there is an opportunity to make a profit but the margins are very slim.

So much for the biggest whatever mining services huh. Well i am not surprised if they shut down. But with no responses from any of the team means they really took money that was invested in them because i don't think they are just having maintenance. They even gave free GHZ so that users could mean, that is really to entice users to buy upgrade for the mining.

The only way to make money on these contracts is by the coin price rising so there is an opportunity to make a profit but the margins are very slim.

Your last sentence is the only one that I agree with as I do not consider any cloud mining operation as legit. While they may not have blatantly closed down and ran off with everyone's money like Auroramine did, they are a far cry from a good investment.

For one, they got lucky that the coin prices have risen as much as they have in the past year, thus making it appear they are profitable. I suspect in many of those cases if people who would have instead invested that same amount directly into a coin would have came out much further ahead.

Another is that almost all of them have some clause in the cloud mining contract that states the moment a coins profits drop below production (mining) costs, they have the right to terminate the contract and consider it as having been fulfilled. This means that if the coins profits had went the other way instead, you would be at a net loss. Again the general increase of the market in the past year helped avoid this, but if you look back to the 2014 and 2015 years many people bought cloud mining contracts and never even ROI'd on their investment.

A lot of sins (crimes) can be effectively hidden from sight during an uptrend in the market, as the profits are not coming so much the cloud mining as they are from the general appreciation of the market. I expect the same is true for many exchanges and other investments such as ICOs. I believe if Bitcoin and Alts were to experience a violent and sustained downtrend, on the order of a 70-80% correction lasting a year plus similar to the 2014-2015 years, many of these fraudulent practices would be exposed for what they truly are. Think Mt Gox times 100 as such an event could very well spell the end of Crypocurrecnies as we know it.

First this belong to Service Discussion sector of the forum. Second, do people never learn ? Hashprofit, Hashocean were big scams and were much better disguised than Auroramine was. I guess people have to learn the hard way in order to stop making the same error again.

As Albert Einstein said:

"Insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"

A reminder for all of us, to not invest a single penny and not a single second of our precious time in these kind of known scams.

On the contrary, it's quite obvious :
1. Subscribe for free and start with a basic mining plan (Get BTC without investment)
2. High % return, even in a day (some scammers offer 800% in a very short time)
3. Refer members, more referrals you have, higher bonuses you get. (ponzi etc.)
4. Pay an amount (eg 0.01 BTC) to receive payments faster
OR sometimes you don't receive your withdrawal amount, so you open a ticket and their support demands you to make a first deposit to get your BTC.
...
5. Site is down, you loose.

Oh and since we"re there, bitconnect is a textbook ponzi http://ceesty.com/wwxGrN , even if it's listed on coinmarketcap

Yes, I experienced the same as yours. I was able to access it for only three days and the next day that I want to open it, it is not available already. There are so many information I have read on the internet that the auroramine.com has already shut down that's the reason why we cannot access it anymore. I thought I could earn from it but I was wrong because by the time that I almost got the minimum withdrawal amount, they just shutdown.
