Title: Coinlenders
Post by: teddylogic on June 10, 2013, 08:41:23 AM
Hiya.  Just a quick post to mention that I've been using the Coinlenders site to earn interest on small amounts of BTC for a couple of months now and I've been really happy with the service so far.  I've been receiving interest on my deposit daily, and also just had a 30 day CD mature.  You can see the CD accruing interest by clicking refresh repeatedly, which is always a nice way to spend a slow work day watching my balance go up.

After seeing the site on these forums, and reading up on Tradefortress, he seems like a decent guy and I'm happy to trust him to look after my money.

Realize I'm a newbie and therefore anything I post is completely suspect and officially void until my post count increases, but until then - that was my honest review of Coinlenders.  I'm not associated with them in any way other than as a customer.  Good service, easy to use.  If you have a few bitcoins lying around doing nothing and are happy to trust someone else to look after them in return for interest, then I'd recommend it.

Well, this is probably suspicious due to the timing but thanks for the feedback :)

aint got much myself.

i notice the guy who runs coinlender also runs coinchat. would be cool to cash out from coinchat straight to coinlenders. ideally without paying that 15% cashout fee ;) wink wink hint hint :P

The amount you'd cashout won't be enough to earn interest from them.

we can confirm that coinlenders is not a scam. Neither it or the user TradeFortress shows up in any of the documents at our disposal.

I had a 30 day CD with coinlenders.  Despite the fact that I was banned from coinchat I was still able to withdraw my money.  As far as I can tell the site is legit.  Just make sure you're aware of the fees to withdraw.  Proceed with caution and stay off of TF's radar and you'll likely get your money back plus some interest.

Just wondering but at the moment, If I buy a 30 day CD with 1BTC, when it matures I get 1.01734 BTC, is that correct?

But would you lend 1 BTC to get 0.01734 more in one month ?
I think thats stupid

Their disclaimer doesn't exactly fill you with confidence. I doubt any regulating authority is going to accept it.

what if I told you that you'd earn 0.25 just for investing 5BTC for 3 months?

So please, tell me more about your flawless math skills

20.8% return a year is stupid?

What are you investing in that returns a better rate coz I'll be all over that.

Don't get me wrong - that's a good rate but I won't be going near Coinlenders anytime soon.

Alas, I'm not invested in anything.

I perform an occasional trade so no proper investments.

For me, an investment needs to be secure, otherwise it's just gambling.

Is the return on that not around 0.6%

In a month with Coinlenders I had BTC1.25 "grow" to BTC1.26ish

I put 1.63 in Just-Dice and it grew to 1.69 in a week.

Its all based on risk coinlenders risk is minimal compared to investing in a gambling site.

that's right. cl has fixed interest rate, while you could also lose some money investing in jd.
