Title: FPGA ModMiner Quad 800MH a Good Deal?
Post by: emunebtk on June 10, 2013, 08:44:14 AM
Found someone wanting to unload a couple of these for $200 each. Do you think its a good deal with the difficulty rising and ASIC's shipping for 800MH? Running a couple NVIDia systems which are horrible and would like to at least be somewhat in the mining game and seems this would be a good start.

200$ for 800 MH/s its ok, plus u can reprogram the FPGA's to do smthg else when they will be useless for mining

ok sweet! I will go ahead and get a couple to play with then :) They are actually 2 BTC so now to decide is it better to buy the BTC in straight $USD being $212 at current rate or trade the LTC I already own for BTC via BTC-e then send that as payment? So many options and appreciate all the advice!

Much sweeter deal than a Block Erupter, but http://www.coinish.com/calc/ (expert) is still showing it never pays for itself. But perhaps difficulty will level off a bit, and there's also the resale value, so good one. Congrats.
