Title: Recent scamming on Jobs4Bitcoins.
Post by: Dr. Xhi on October 25, 2017, 05:01:47 AM
Hey guys, I just want to make this post to give you a heads up on the issue that is facing Jobs4Bitcoins currently. We have had multiple complaints that there have been people get in contact with employers, ask for a deposit and haven't given any deliverables. Here are a few ways in which you can ensure to protect yourself against such activities:

PLEASE always use an escrow when it comes to paying for a project, no matter how big or how small, or no matter how trust-worthy the member is, caution should always be adhered to. (Jobs4Bitcoins have their own escrow which can be found over at: http://Jobs4Bitcoins.net)

Be vigilant, scams are almost inevitable, so long as there is corruption in the world, someone, somewhere will be a victim.

It is good to ensure extra caution when it comes to scams in Bitcoin due to the trust-less transactions and anonymity attached to them, whilst both can be advantages, they are also disadvantages.

Ensure you check the posting history of the person you are working with. This is advised as the absolute minimum, but beware, the scams that have been brought to our attention's accounts all seemed very real, and none were just new.

Do not trust random links to portfolios, try and enforce a way of them proving that this is actually their portfolio perhaps to upload a file with the name of your project, or something meaningful to give you sufficient evidence to assume that they are telling the truth.

At the end of the day, if you choose not to enforce any of the methods listed above, the consequences lie with you. Unfortunately this is out of our control, we only set up the platform to allow people to advertise jobs, but due diligence has to be enforced along with care.

Is this still on going? I saw the original post from /r/Jobs4Bitcoins admin here https://www.reddit.com/r/Jobs4Bitcoins/comments/31vhmc/recent_scamming_on_jobs4bitcoins/ and it's submitted last 2 years?
I'm not sure why you repost this on bctalk if the site you're advertising to use as a solution isn't available, check jobs4bitcoins.net and you'll see that it's for sale

Even the september snapshot of way back machine show's a domain sale page.
