It's not too difficult to distinguish a real project from a fake one. If you go for a good ICO, sooner or later you would profit. Look for the usability and the people behind it rather than believing in extraordinary words.

My best is Stockbet

They are rare because they have working software
They have a solid, comprehensive white paper
They are going to play in a huge market
The total value of stocks is $70 trillion
The total value of derivatives is $630 trillion
The total value of cryptocurrencies is only $0.2 trillion which is almost zero in comparison.

The Etherparty ICO still has a few days.  There is a lot of potential for that one.

I just found out about Oyster and their ICO is going on for a few more days.  Check is out - really neat idea.

Though it is not an ICO, IOTA is on sale and is going to grow up to be an awesome platform someday.

i sent some money to https://polkadot.network.
why? blockchains have to be connected in the future. and i think that they could manage to this. so there i a real use case. and the team is not unknown and i hope that parts of them learned from the mistakes they made. but they have the knowledge to make polkadots real. but you will have to wait two years to get the tokens.

What do you mean by best? this is reltive  because here most people use the coimartketcap position to rate projects, and this is very wrong. There are alot of good projects currently doing their ICO and some to come like Worldcore, Flixxo, Bitclave, Spectre, Wepower and many more

Unfortunately, noone can suggest you "the best ICO".
What is "the best" for you? Can you be more specific, please..?

If I understood you properly, the best ICO for you is the successfull, profitable and most promising one.
As I already wrote above, noone knows which ICO is the best. Many ICO's are scam, many are just "hyping" and worth nothing, some are really great etc.
I would advice you to check several resources like icoalert, icolist and others => go to upcoming ICO's and choose the most interesting projects in YOUR opinion.
After that explore them more detailed, read their roadmaps, check if they are not scams and other investigations and if everything is okay - invest. But don't invest all your funds. Always invest the amount you are ready to lose.. Because this business is very riski.

Good luck!

Its not an ICO but it is an airdrop. Look into Deeponion. Amazing community and project. Plus being an airdrop there isnt any risk.

sphere.social.io are onto something great. check them out.

Yes that project is not bad at all, at least they propose something different and/or interesting IMHO ( well i know that there is at least one coin that do the same ), but let me tell you something, there is not "best" ico out there, hell, there is no good icos at all xD

So for your main question, don't care about if proyect have a good ICO or not, just research and invest on projects that you think are good himself eve if they have no ICOs.

I think it's VERY hard. Most projects are just fancy websites, "partnerships" and tons of marketing. They have no product or even anything in development. So many promising ICOs have tanked because investors just burn the tokens, too. I say stay away from ICOs. Buy them after they dip.

"Best" is a very broad term in a very confusing market.
Make sure you do a LOT of your own research.
Here's a great article on evaluating ICOs: https://medium.com/@brucefenton/spacesuit-x-c314946fa349

Anyway find something in a market you know about. It's be easier to tell the legit from the scam. I'm really into online gaming, so I've been researching ICOs in that space.
Here are some examples:
www.Dmarket.io
www.enjincoin.io
www.MindSports.IO

No one person can determine the value an ICO holds. It's best to research the company,  and see how much time and effort is being put into their project. Check out the credentials of the developers, and make sure their is some degree of transparency with their identities.
Make sure the project has a roadmap that looks relatively achievable. See if they offer a proof of concept model, or an infograpic regarding their project. Be sure to check for their white paper, and make sure it's understandable. If the ICO is celebrity endorsed, theres a good chance the projector is legit, because a well known public figure usually wouldn't intentionally involve their selves within a multi million dollar scam, though it happens.
Does the project offer some sort of innovation? Ask questions,  because a closed mouth doesn't get fed. Does the ICO comply with financial law, and regulations? Is the company licensed?
Follow the project closely to be sure before investing.

To be honest, I don't really know what is the best ICO as of today, but I think you should make your own research about them because people here have there own research and own opinion regarding this matter, for you to know whether or not to join the ICO or not.

There are really good projects out there in ICO, like immla.io, lockchain.co, lendoit.com etc. but one thing i have to advise is that you do your own research before taking any decision to invest in ICO, read the whitepaper to determine if you want to support the project.
people get into projects/ICOs for different reasons, so make sure your reason for getting into the project is based on your conviction and not someone else's recommendation.

it is difficult to distinguish which is the best ico and which ico scam. I think you need to find out for yourself, that means you are studying yourself every ico project and you will get the best ico project of your version.

I think everyone in this forum wants to gain good profit. I believe the creator of these ICO's also did their best to let the people satisfied on their service. Like people in this forum, the ICO's creator/s wants to gain good profit, excluding the scammers. It might be good to think that the real( not scammer) ICO's are all good and profitable. It is up to us which were going to used.

There are a lot of existing and will exist ICOs right now. In order for you to find out the best ICO, you must dig every details to each existing ICO. See if that particular ICO has a potential to last long or will be helpful to every clients. Even I am newbie, What I did, was that I looked for ICO that I'm interested with. Like HACKEN, Hacken provides Cyber security to each clients. Hacken has the gut to last long  and be popular because of the needs of cyber security now and to the future.

This is pretty under the radar, but cybermiles is up and coming. They're trying to decentralize the marketplace through smart business contracts. You really have to look into it because there are so many robust features they're bringing into cybermiles integrating their blockchain into 5miles the app. The easiest way to sum it up is their chief scientist's medium post I found: https://medium.com/cybermiles/what-is-cybermiles-a457f08fa6a7

but honestly, i recommend reading into their whitepaper. Theyre's too much to even type out. https://cm.5miles.com/file/project/Project%20white%20paper%20v.1.7_en-US.pdf

I think insofar as ongoing ICOs are concerned, ARToken is something we all should be considering investing. The decision is of course yours to do. I am not saying invest right away. I am just saying that ARToken by Cappacity has been in the business for a long time. The ICO started yesterday and there are already 1,641 contributors in total so far. This is going to be a big successful ICO because of the huge support coming from various businesses and individuals.

An upcoming ICO I can recommend is Propthereum.io. They are an asset backed ICO and are expecting a 1566% coin appreciation in a short amount of time. Proceeds raised from their ICO will be used to purchase A-grade property worldwide. This will generate a rental income and underlying value for the PTC token holder. I have found this entire concept interesting as real estate is one of the biggest markets in the world.
