What are you sophisticated bitcoin thiefs ( and I know you prowl around this forum) gonna do now? huh? you bitches!!! I now have a hardware wallet with a seed and a passphrase at the end of it. You ain't gonna get steal diddly squat.... LOL

You need to be warry about many things. Hackers can swap you firmaware on hardware wallet and stuff like that.
I think there is allwya way to broke in but we don't know those hacks.
We will now them later so don't be so cocky and try be humble.

If the firmware is tampered with, the wallet will warn you. And I can manually check the signatures myself.

How come did you experience being hacked in the past, you have your own personal computer that has been breached? can you please share what happen and how did it happen. Because It is being a year now since I used my hardware wallet and good thing I never experience any hack or loss maybe you have less security precautions in securing your very own computer.

Congrats on a smart choice getting a hardware wallet. They are most secure. Just have to double up, in case of failure, and then store them in separate locations.

In my opinion, it is very safe to store a hardware wallet. You just need to do two things, the first is to put the hardware wallet where you think is safe, and the second is to remember the private key of the bitcoin wallet. Thieves and hackers are going to lose their jobs.

Don't be cocky dude, thieves will always find a spot and get into the houses and even your wallet. If you show something like you have money and have the best security system, then it becomes clue to them and they will find blind spot on your system. Moreover, your words seem to challenge them to fight.
So keep it low and don't challenge them.

A bitcoin thief is not always a tech savvy person. Some of them are using Social Engineering techniques to hack someonw. If you think you are safe enough because you have a secure hardware module then you are wrong. If you really want to protect your Bitcoin, Be secure in every areas of your life including social relationships and direct contact with somebody.

Its such a pain in the butt the lengths we have to go to secure our fortunes :( I'm thinking I'm going to need to get one of those safety deposit boxes soon and store a backup of my hardrives and everything in there - or rent a storage locker to hide all my stuff in...

but seriously, you can have your coins stolen by life. you can lose it, it can get broken and you lose the seed, someone else can discover the seed. you arent bulletproof just because you have a hardware wallet. you are very well protected, however, if you follow proper procedure and hygiene.

Don't be so confident about having hardware wallets, and conclude that your bitcoin can't be steal anymore, because you are wrong. You never knew who is going to rob at your place, what if the person who are going to rob you is someone who knows about cryptocurrency and just find the hardware wallet of yours that you were saying and didn't steal your fiat buy did steal your bitcoin wallet.

And you don't have to boast here that you have a hardware and said rude things like that, maybe you have been experienced losing your bitcoin, that is why you have said such thing.  ;D ;D

i think as long as you can save the hardware wallet then you are fine and don't thinking too much about the thief because i am sure the thief can act like a smart person. with saving in the safe place, you don't have to worried about bad things that will come. so from now on, you'd better don't talk to other person that you have hardware wallet with full security because this will attract someone to test the security.

Lol, don't go jinxing yourself now man. It's true that hardware wallets are one of the safest ways to store your coins, and you're definitely safer now than you were ever before, but it would be dangerous to assume you can't be stolen from. Overconfidence can cause certain lapses, and those lapses could lead to your coins being stolen.

It's highly unlikely you're going to get victimized by anything at this point, as hardware wallets are still ridiculously hard, if not impossible to exploit remotely, but it would still be a good idea to be as careful as you were before. Good luck!

Lol. Was i really the only one who thought the op was gonna give a big contest for thieves and techy people with some big big prices? Something like try to  hack into anything i own to find my seed and get the contents of my wallet which is worth, i don't know, like  a hundred btc or more as your prize. Lol

The thing is, nothing's for sure in life. So i think you should've just kept your mouth shut about that. You might  offend an ego of a hacker and lose your possesions. Having a hard wallet does not guve you invulnerability from hackers.

you can use paper wallet too. It's simpler and more safe. I mean a paper can survive more time in a safe.

Dude, don't be too sure that your coins are beyond reach and forever safe. Shit happens and nothing in life is total guarantee. Even those who make these wares have a way of also making virus to attack these wares so they can also sell anti-virus wares. These things are just messed up.

Believe me when I tell you that no one will come to my house with a stick and beat my ass. That would be a big mistake on their part.

It's either you've had bad past experience or you're a serious paranoid.
Anyway, there is no need to challenge thieves and fraudsters. They're already trying every single trick they know of to try to steal your coins.

If you notice, lately phishing web wallets has been spreading and they're doing it on all of them (blockchain.info, myetherwallet etc. .. you name it).

Perhaps buying a hardware wallet was the best idea.

I can't believe not one of you got it. THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS THREAD WAS TO GET YOU GUYS TO ADD A PASSPHRASE TO YOUR SEED, making it much more difficult for someone to hack you. Doing this does not necessarily require a hardware wallet. I just happen to have one. ADD A PASSPHRASE TO YOUR SEED PEOPLE!!!

Don't get your hopes up too much man. As soon as your feel that your keys are safe, some hacker will figure out a way to steal them from you. :P

If a local thief finds out you have a fortune in bitcoins, he can always kidnap you and make you give him everything you have  :P

I think you  get your chances very high that the hackers can't get your coins because you now have a hardware wallet. But we all know that hackers will try to do everything they can just to steal someone's coins, you just gave them a slim chance because of your coins now are sitting in a hardware wallet. So If I were you don't give them a chance. LOL. Keep your private key and seeds safe from the prying eyes otherwise no matter how cool you are, those bitches are going to take it once you go to sleep. hahahhaa.

security is not just having something expensive and think you are safe. you have to keep yourself safe.
for example did you take a backup from your seed? if not you can lose your funds.
if yes anyone who steals that seed doesn't even have to break into your hardware wallet, that is enough to get all your bitcoins.

you always have to educate yourself and make your money secure, it is not automatically safe.
i have been on windows for year, i have a desktop wallet, a web wallet and a cold storage. none of which was ever hacked.

Well unless someone is aware that you own a lot of coins stored in that wallet then you might be a target by thieves but if you can keep your anonymity then I think your hardware wallet is secured enough. And since a hardware wallet is too small it will be easier to hide.

same here if ever I would go deep into investing to bitcoins and manage to spend a lot of money then I think I wouldn't bother to take extra precautions for my security.

You know that by admitting you have a hardware wallet people can more easily be targeted now right? There are vulnerabilities in hardware wallets that some people know about and others that have not been discovered yet.

Better to not say anything  about what you own or where it is stored and that is the absolute safest way to go about hiding your bitcoins/altcoins from view dude:)

There's a lot of crypto thieves here in these forum. Just beware of clicking links and doing trabsactions. I've lost some of tokens because of a phishing site. I think it is a good lesson bacause after that I never click links again.

There is no extremely safe place to keep your coin. Noon of the wallet can be void of being stolen. The stealing can come from a close friend or someone living with you. Just make sure you keep calm.

Is something happened with you in past ?  Did someone steal your bitcoins from your online wallets?  If yes then i feel so sorry for you. Some hackers start making some scripts to break online wallets security. Hardware wallets are pretty good.But what if a hacker hacked your computer and steal your data ? You have to be more cleaver .

If your system is compromised and the system you use to access the hardware wallet will connect to the open web all your data will be recorded even if it is offline ,it all depends upon how you take care of security and a hardware wallet alone could not stop the hackers from stealing your coins. :P
