Title: so...LITECOIN
Post by: namethathasntbeentaken on October 26, 2017, 12:48:55 AM
Much has been said about litecoin and it's future in the pass but what about the present?
It appears to me that this coin is kinda of forgotten of, almost no mentions here whatsoever of the "bitcoin silver", must be all these forks and stuff

I'm still using ltc as a temporary bagholder due to it's historical stability compared to other coins, but i would like to know what people think about it, is a pump coming? Price's been really stagnant past few days and what advantages does it have against future alts technologies?

Litecoin just had a huge pump a few weeks ago. Now it’s back to it’s more normal price. Litecoin gets a lot of mention on this forum, I always thought. Also every alt is down now. . I think LTC will go up as investors think btc is overpriced and they want another solid coin to hold, but that will take months imho.

I see litecoin as one of the most undervalued coins ever right now.
It's been around side by side with bitcoins for a while. Its transaction fees are amazing right now and transactions are confirmed in minutes.

Yes it got pumped in June and again last month but I feel it should still go up much more than that. I might be wrong too.

yes ive heard many speculations about  litecoin and what will be its future or it will have a good future but i agreed also that in the present i think there are less and lesser people who are interested on this coin and not only litecoin but also some good old coins like doge and etherium. all people now are just focusing on to the bitcoin trend because bitcoins price is getting higher and as a result they are selling thier other coins just to switch and invest on bitcoins.

For sure the litecoin will increase more in the futurem so if you have extra money its better to invest now in litecoin and for sure you will earn a lot of money. You can hold litecoin for few years to make more profit. Litecoin is one of my favorite altcoin since I start trade because i see the potential of this coin to increase more . But it's up to you if you buy and hold your litecoin.

At least litecoin will be better to be our choice for our portfolio rather than bitcoin gold or bitcoin cash. But there is no a lot of movement and volume in the market right now.
A lot of people are trading bitcoin gold.

I agree about its historical stability and ease of use, acceptance so on make you agree to use it. I personally think litecoin will always be great in long term. It shares similar status with Bitcoin.

Among the available coins we have in the market bitcoin still remains the most pump coin in the market and litecoin remains the most stable coins in the market! We can not but said litecoin has a resemblance of currency than every others coins as many experts are classified bitcoin as an assets like stocks and not currency because of the way it price fluctuations among  others major currencies like dollars and yen. Litecoin is going to rise again but I do believe that it has it own unique idea of how money should be price and not be controlled by the bubbles we are experiencing from others coins now .

LTC price didn't recover like the other coins did yesterday, or at least not as much.

Price is still below 0.01 BTC and seems to be a resistance at that level or thereabouts. Judging from the pattern of the past few months, right now seems to be a good time to accumulate some extra LTC whilst there is virtually no hype.

Don't expect too big of a pump when it does come though, probably 20-30% tops.

In the present litecoin is still way too undervalued. Buy it and keep it for years i believe it will goes up. Litecoin is proven coin through pump and dump and the community keep it a live. I also keep some for my child tho. Dont expect to goes high in short term but in the long run it will be $200

Having LTC undervalued like that is a bliss and a nightmare. It is perfect moment to invest in it but it is scary if there will be not a good pump in its value. But i am hopeful that after BTC fork all alt coins will be pumped and make a good profit.

Sometimes those news have minor effect, but in global it will accumulate power of LTC and small spark will be enough latter. Just wait when all this madness with forks ends!

Try to get them lower and hold them for a longer term. LTC is truly amazing coin with good Team and good support. From this point you can double your money in near future. LN is approaching and this will be another good pump.

We can see that Ltc is now very cheap and seems to keep falling. 1Ltc = 0.0097 btc
But do not worry. Now is the time to buy and hold Ltc, it will rapidly increase as Bitcoin is preparing to fall.
I bought it yesterday for 0.0099 btc, wait.

Litecoin is good historically. But it could be replaced by the Bitcoin Cash.

LTC doesn't need a constant flow of news to maintain and/or increase in value. It also doesn't seem to care as much about what is happening to BTC (ie. bitcoin dependency) as many other alts. That is what is so cool about it ... In a crypto-world where most alts are 100% dependent on "news" and hype, LTC is a fresh breath of air.

IMO, LTC is one of the few "sure bets" for investments for the future.

Basically at this position Lite Coin is very good coin i think.Because in this month Lite coin value is highly pumping now price is $56.65 (2.74%) in coinmarketcap.LTC will be cross 70$ in December.

Maybe Litecoin will increase in the future but I think not many people will invest in it since Litecoin has been steady and stable for a long time, also if it would be big it would be after the lightning network and atomic swap, personally I think Litecoin will be replaced and another coin like Vertcoin will take its place, it could be a bit higher in price but once a coin has a name it is not gaining much popularity, as an example I give you XRP promisses much but no progress.

LTC is just an ALT to keep on long term .. it's the silver of bitcoin as people say and it will grow for sure in the next fuure when the market grow.

You can easily say it will take years instead of months for Litecoin to go up, it has kept its price steady and low for a very long time, it had a huge pump indeed and it is going to its normal price just like the other altcoins, bitcoin will go up and I dont see Litecoin as the silver of blockchain and cryptocurrency, another coin will take its place and my personal favorite is VTC, much more progress than Litecoin.

  • one of the highest trading volumes
  • one of the highest number of daily transactions
  • high price which is also stable (by the standard of altcoins not generally).
  • still active developers after many years
  • additional and new features that keep coming.
i honestly wouldn't call this coin "forgotten"!

and you ask for new technologies? they are coming but they can not happen over night. developing such things takes time. SegWit is already done, Lightning Network is also finished, the confidential transactions is under development.
and with these things active, features such as Atomic Swap are already available if anyone wants to use it!

you can always check out litecoin.org, their roadmap, and also the github repository for litecoin to see the latest development.

Maybe you need to widen your reading material and news sources. Follow the lead developer, Charlies Lee, on Twitter (@SatoshiLite) and you'll see very regular updates about Litecoin's development. It's probably one of the most active alts (and has a known full-time developer!). In fact if you check now there are two tweets in the past two days all about Litecoin. As he said on Oct 21, Litecoin has a lot less drama and that's a good thing.

New technologies for litecoin? Well they made atomic swaps among the first in September
They also gained much in communications with community through their weekly videos so I think in 2018 we will see a huge rise for litecoin

Litecoin is one of the great altcoins I have invested in and I am willing hold on to it for long term. It's a very good coin with great technology and has the potential of getting bigger in the next few years or months. If you are an investor already, I would advice you to just store your litecoins on a hardware wallet and forget about them, look at it after a few years.
